Should I Spend Donuts on the Paralyzer?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s nearly Fall in Springfield and of course, that means it’s time for Fall Harvest!  Nothing says Fall Harvest quite like a good old County Fair! A nice relaxing way to slowly bring Springfield back to normal after the crazy music fest!  But of course a new event, no matter how small, means our stores are now jam-packed with premium items just tempting us to drop our sprinkles!

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in, to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Paralyzer to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this carnival death trap to your town…

Building/Decoration: The Paralyzer
Donut Cost: 50 Donuts
Earns: 2.25% Bonus on all cash and XP
Size:
6×9
Conform-O-Meter:
Consumerism +10

Leaves stores September 26th

Pros
-Animated when tapped.  Spins around and a car flies off.  The car hits either the Elementary School, Brown house or a few other buildings. (they catch on fire, but if you tap them the fire goes out)
-Decent Bonus % for donuts spent

Cons
-No character interaction, so outside of the animation when tapped not much else happens.

Final Thought
Premium:
It’s fun, bonus % is decent…i’d buy it.

Freemium:
It’s a fun item, for sure, but if you’re low on donuts this may be something you’ll want to hold off on it.  At the end of the day, it’s just a decoration.  Usually, character/buildings take higher priority for freemium donuts.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ll likely pick it up.  It makes me giggle.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the dialogue it comes with…

Rocket Science

Bart: I remember this!  It’s awesome!
Lisa: That doesn’t look very safe.  The force applied to the pods could exceed the structural integrity of the bolts holding them to the frame.
Bart: The only force that needs to be applied is my butt to the “On” button!
Tap the Paralyzer

What are your thoughts on the Paralyzer?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not? Where have you placed the Paralyzer in your Springfield? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. This thread sure took different directions I’d not expected but I was hoping to find out which other buildings this ride flys into were being as all it does for me is hit the school or brown house. If anyone knows that is.

Note: I didn’t correct grammar nor did I try to make the game about some tragic event in history. This was a typical slice of the internet for ya…. but I waded through it all. lol

  2. I would’ve bought this IF I could put it in Krustyland …. I didn’t spend the sprinkles because I still feel awful about what actually occurred recently 😉

  3. Ok. I;m of two minds on this. Put it in my B game, and then thought it was kind of in poor taste given that it actually happened recently. Didn’t realize “simpsons did it” 25 years ago!

  4. I like it but wish it could go on the Squidport

  5. Dude, love all the information you have given, but it’s so hard to read because your grammar and spelling are awful! Not hating on you, but maybe you could proof read your posts before sharing it with the world just so that was it’s a little easier to read and follow along with!! Thank you tho!!

    • He who is without sin casts the first stone.
      BTW: Alissa is a dudette.

    • it was actually quite easy to follow along with, despite a couple typos. if it’s truly hard to read for you, i suggest hooked on phonics.

    • I’ll just go out back and beat myself senseless…maybe that’ll help me write more good.

Or, alternatively, you could shut up and realize that by saying you’re not hating on someone you’re actually hating on them. And the person you’re hating on is really tired of listening to people like you be buttheads for no good reason. So sit down, shutup and read the post or not..I don’t give a damn.

Although, clearly you were ok enough with it to reblog this on your own site…

For the record, I’ve been doing this a LONG time (and written nearly 3,000 posts). I’ve never had a problem with someone pointing out a specific mistake or another. No one is perfect, and I certainly don’t ever pretend to be. But I take exception when people are jerks about it. So back off…today is not the day to mess with me, mmmkay?

      • “I’ll just go out back and beat myself senseless…”

save that for addicts live! 😀

        • Might make for a riveting live stream…

I mean for Pete’s sake…there were what, 2 mistakes? One was the wrong tense, the other was a sentence ending in a preposition. Geez… to say a post isn’t readable because of those 2 mistakes, my God. I’d hate to see how they handle it when EA makes an in-game typo.

      • I’ve never understood why some feel the need to point out simple typos that do not matter at all. These posts are not legal documents. They are here to help you with the game. Pointing out that it should be spelled “their” instead of “there” doesn’t make the world think you’re smart.

        • Some people need to feel superior to others I guess…

Like I said, I never have an issue with a specific typo being pointed out. Lord knows I make plenty. I just take exception when people are nasty about it. (or nasty about anything really..)

      • Alissa, I think you have done a magnificent job here. I’m tapping since 2014 and this site has always been helpful and hardworking for the benefit of everyone playing this game.
I truly don’t know how you still find the time to post (and your info is always great) and have a life, but thank you and the rest of the Addicts.
As for any troll trying to find fault, just remember:
        Nucular…it’s pronounced nucular
        Peace!

      • You pretty much just fed the troll there. What do trolls feed on? Answer: Attention

Should just delete his post and ban him if he’s clearly being a jerk.

      • I’m not feeling the “love” that you describe when hearing from us (“you”)
FWIW, IMHO, life is too darn short to point out silly trifling typos.
Besides, my tongue is usually stuck so far in my cheek I can barely speak, let alone type.
(I know, shut up leave, Tracy)
(Feel free not to post, just accept the love, Alissa)

    • Another candidate for the EA Forum…where nastiness rules and jerks are the rulers…the rest of us all love you Alissa, hope the rest of your day is rainbows and little fuzzy puppies 🌈 🐶 😍.

    • Creators get paid more than editors. Always.

      • I’m not sure where you got that from… I worked at a magazine company, with 10 major publications, and the Editors were paid almost double what the writers made. Graphic designers (who laid out the magazine) and writers were all paid a lowly salary in the AU$35-45k range, while the Editors were more like AU$60-70k. 70k isn’t a great salary by any means (technically the average salary here) but definitely better than the “creators” got.

        • People who create things, not necessarily the writers but the person who came up with the idea (or person who created the brand)is what I think he’s referring to.

      • I should say that the Graphic Designers did far more than just lay out the magazine… they also designed all of the client and in-house advertisements, all the online banner advertising, in-house marketing material, made custom maps and brochures, all of the website graphics etc. Of course an Editor also did far more than just proof-read.

    • No problems are to be reported from Germany… Posts still easy to follow. The readability decreases in fact a little bit due to the loss of my spectacles (left them in the office), so your are right in this point.
Vor de shbällink I dunne knoff annythink… Is he right, Alissa? 😮

Maybe there’s a different Internet in Nerdistan? Go out and fix it! Quickly!

    • “…but maybe you could proof read your posts before sharing it with the world just so that was it’s a little easier to read and follow along with…”

Not hating on you, but maybe you should take your own advice? “Just so that was it’s” made my brain hurt a little bit.

  6. I am thinking about this, I’d still have 283 donuts, that’s enough for Halloween. Just a fun tip for designing: this would go great with Praiseland, as there are only two rides, or even in Duff Gardens. 🎵Duff beer for me, duff beer for you, I’ll have a duff, you have one too!🎵

  7. Can we get a confirmation as to whether or not it can be placed in Krustyland?

  8. It’s tempting. I guess it depends on how many donuts I can farm before Halloween. Thanks again for doing these!

  9. I’m on the fence about this one…I like it, it seems cool, etc…buttttt the Halloween event is coming so I don’t know if I want to get it or not. Too bad none of my neighbors have it so I can check it out to help me decide lol : )

  10. I would be so glad to have the possibility to put it in the Krustyland but it’s not possible (or not yet), is it?!

  11. Can it be placed on squidport tiles?

  12. Mine also leveled the Kwik e Mart. Lol

  13. I told myself I wouldn’t spend more donuts til Halloween but I buckled on this. I really like the decoration and I’ve been trying to really up my bonus % lately so win-win.

  14. I plan on getting this as I am over 300 donuts pre-Halloween!

  15. The Paralyzer can also destroy the Quick and Fresh.

Unlike the police tank, you can tap the Paralyzer multiple times and have the chance to destroy different buildings. That means the school can be on fire, the Q&F can be wrecked, and the brown house can be smoking all at the same time.

  16. I get it, it’s just a game. It’s a cartoon. But, as an Ohio resident who just witnessed the tragedy at the Ohio State Fair this year, this item is in poor taste. Having a part of a ride fly off and hit something…just not for me.

  17. I won’t be getting it myself but it is amusing. A neighbour of mine has it so I can mess about with it there if I like.

  18. I was so excited when I found out this could go in Springfield. Was afraid they might be bringing back the land that shall not be named.
