County Fair 2017 Prize Breakdown: Cheddarbarrel Farm

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s nearly Fall in Springfield and of course, that means it’s time for Fall Harvest!  Nothing says Fall Harvest quite like a good old County Fair! A nice relaxing way to slowly bring Springfield back to normal after the crazy music fest!

Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes.  For each of the parts of the Pride and Pageantry questline you’ll have to earn  via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.

Let’s take a look at the details of the fifth (and final) prize, Cheddarbarrel Farm .  Let’s see what it does and how you unlock it…

The fourth prize unlocked during the County Fair Mini Event is the Cheddarbarrel Farm:

Here are some more details behind it…

How You Unlock It: Pride and Pageantry Pt. 5
Make Little Miss Springfield Lisa Protest- 8hrs, Earns $275, 70xp
Earn Prize Ribbons- x325. 3hrs, Earns 10 Freemium and 15 Premium

Once you’ve earned it you’ll see this message popup:

And you’ll have the ability to place it in your Springfield or store it in your inventory for later.  But in this case you’ll want to place it, as you’ll need it to continue on the questline.

And here are some quick details about the farm…

Size: 9×4
Conform-o-Meter: Vanity +100
Build Time: 4hrs
What Does it Do?: It’s pretty cool, once you’ve built it you can make more Corn Fields, Wheat Fields and Plowed Fields…simply by tapping on the farm:

You guys know I’m a fan of items that have more purpose than just sitting there.  This will allow for some really cool designs!

And that completes the details of the fourth County Fair Prize!

What are your thoughts on Cheddarbarrel Farm?  Where have you placed it in your Springfield?  Building lots of Corn/Wheat/Plowed Fields?  How are you using them in your Springfield design?   Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I missed the event, is there a chance I get any of the fields?

  2. Is there a maximum amount of each type you can create?

  3. Have a farm in my Hammock District. Have corn and wheat fields and the combine harvesting. Like the old farm house also.
Reminds me of my grandmother’s farm growing up.

  4. Sorry this probably isn’t the place for this. Anyone had their EA account hacked lately? It’s happened twice now in as many weeks. I don’t understand how they’re being able to change my password without my email access. Driving me nuts

  5. Already love the use of combine to create the impression of harvest. Besides the obvious wheat/plowed field combo, I’ve already got a row of corn fields and then behind the combine – wheat fields. The height difference makes it work.

Cane fields from the insanity pepper cauldron will also be incorporated into the commercial farm being planned….

    • It would work better if you could put the combine on top of a plowed square (although maybe the height of the corn and wheat squares can hide the fact that the combine is just sitting on grass?). 🙁

Corn and wheat squares….now I want to have since Chex cereal! 😉

    • It seems you can only get so many cane fields until they stop showing up. I haven’t got any in several months with only about 18 I’ve gotten in total since the Insanity Pepper event.

  6. While watching Field of Dreams the other night, I thought of moving the baseball field in the middle of the corn crops and then realized I don’t have a baseball field in my game.

I wish the fields cost in game cash and I didn’t have to wait to “build” them. At least they don’t cost doughnuts. I don’t have enough free land to make a nice space to make a good Fair area yet. I’ll have to wait for more land to be available for purchase in the next couple of events before it can be what I want it to be. Looking forward to seeing what others have done in the Show Off next week.

  7. I still say we should be able to create one of each plot at the same time…

So slow…my design- juices are flowing and are hindered by slowness

  8. Having the option to build fields is great. Thanks to this I’ve come up with an idea for my farm area.

  9. I had to get the old Simpsons Farmhouse to complete the design. Still happy with it, even if it was a waste of donuts.

  10. Hey, I grew up on a farm, so I’m all over this. I’m a little sad that the combine unfathomably spits out a hay bale instead of chaff, but whatever — it’s not green farm equipment so anything unexpected could happen. 😉

  11. I’m really looking forward to seeing how people incorporate these generating items into great designs that can inspire my own (a.k.a. that I can steal and use in my springfield)

  12. I’ve been building fields since I earned this prize. Not sure what I’ll do with them yet but maybe the showoff will give me some inspiration. 🙂

    • I’m in the same boat. I’ve heard talk of crop circles, but I’m not sure I want to devote too large of an area. That said, the crops, especially the corn, are seemingly too large to place close to a building (for example, 3 corns in a 1×3 arrangement are almost the exact same size as the Cheddarbarrel farm itself and seem to dwarf the building).
