It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!
Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING. Just no Add me requests…those should go here. We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.
So, here is your Open Thread…..
All good things must come to an end, and the really well done (all Addicts agree!) County Fair mini event must come to a close. So the County Fair rolls on out this coming week (Tuesday) and in its place will be ______? (in case you haven’t guessed, here’s where you fill in the blank my friends.)
Halloween is just around the corner (I think we’ll get it the first week of October), what are your thoughts on what we may see this year? In the past, we’ve had Zombies, Ghosts, Aliens, nightmares and monsters…what will 2017 bring?
Speaking of the County Fair and Halloween thoughts….there was a new Addicts Live yesterday, did you check it out? Super Safi and I broke down the County Fair Event, what we’d like to see for Halloween and a timeline for what we think will be coming next (and when) in TSTO.

So after completing the Cheap Space Homer mini event today I’ve discovered that I’m not able to send the rocket into space for prizes. Is this intentional? I was looking forward to getting mini nuclear warheads and topiaries. ;(
You’d have likely been disappointed (at least about the mini-nuke)…. I’ve been launching the rocket once or twice a day since it first came out (how many months ago was that?) and have yet to earn a mini-nuke from it. (On the other hand, I’ve gotten three from Lisa doing The Eliminator, which had been around for a much shorter time.)
I have gotten a few topiaries, but, more than half the time the rocket fails to launch (it’s part of the options that can happen…it starts to go up, sputters, then just catches fire on the launch pad and stays that way until its 12-hour task runs out and you “collect it”). When you do get something, the vast majority of the time it’s either debris or a Hail Ants sign.
So, don’t worry…you’re really not missing that much. 🙂
Belay that last comment. I wasn’t aware that Quimby needed to be available to trigger the final launching even though no one actually had a task to perform. Rocket away!
I know, Sandra. In my main Springfield I had launched the rocket twice a day for almost 2 years without seeing a single nuke. I got my first mini-nuke from the Eliminator. I had two from there, then finally received one from the rocket. Current total: Eliminator-7, Rocket-3. I have about 30 Kang and Kodos topiaries.
If you have such a nice rocket, you just have to launch it now and then ;p
To Rudolph….don’t understand your reply? One of the prizes on the prize track was new crop. Another prize was lennys stall. This is an actual building you can place in your town so I thought when it said new crop it would be like growing corn,wheat or ploughed field. Know what I mean? Like paying and waiting 3 hours?.
Hi guys. Am I being a total numpty in thinking that the prize new crop is actually something we can grow, like the wheat and 🌽 fields? There’s no option to do this. Just the three that are already there. Signed dumb blonde u,k

I picked up Ray Patterson and the two monorail stations (Magic and Krusty) today. I’m stuck on the trash pick up quest because the junk yard is full and the monorail jobs are all done til next week. Is there a way to get trash from checkup other than by using it for monorail jobs?
Edit on my question. Is there anyway to take trash from the dump other than by using it for monorail jobs?
I have been reading the site daily for almost three years and decided to finally comment. I really liked the county fair mini event and after seeing all the great designs in the show off I wish I bought the combine but I am low on donuts and have been waiting for the Springfield pet shop to make an appearance in my vault. I am looking forward to the Halloween event. My favorite THOH is the Peanuts episode with the grand pumpkin. I would like to see the grand pumpkin as a full character with a 24 hour task to “get revenge” where he walks around town eating Springfielders who are not on a task.

I have been having the issue that TSTO makes me go through the verifying my age and then sign in to my EA account EVERY TIME i try to play now – and i just updated to iOS 11 on my ipad so i have NO idea what is going on – anyonr here experiencing the same thing or know how to fix this? It makes me download 800+ MB EVERY DAMN TIME (as if i am doenloading the latest update EVERY TIME i want to play) and it is getting more and more frustrating!!
You might have to delete the App & reinstall it. Worked for me, just have to be patient while it is downloading.

I’ve recently started having a problem that I hadn’t had in about a year or two: when I open my app, it will start downloading the who 750mb of updates and ask me to sign in again.
Once I do, everything is all fine and good, but I seem to be having to do this once a day lately. When I’m at home or work on wi-fi, it’s inconvenient but not the worst. But when I’m out and about, it’s impractical.
My only speculation on what could be causing this is that I’ve started getting close to filling up my phone’s storage (lots of video of our new baby), and so iOS then purges content such as TSTO content, but I wanted to ask if anyone can confirm this is the cause or knows of a different reason why I’d have to redownload all my content frequently.
Yes – TSTO gets very unhappy when your device is low on space. Maybe you want to move those photos up to the cloud? My iPad is now set to move any photos I take up to the cloud, then brings them down individually if/when I need to edit them or something. It’s made a big difference in how well things run for me.
I would place those videos in a cloud of some kind.
Is there a place to name and shame people like scottkeeganw, who come and vandalise your town? The neighbour request page, with a promise not to vandalise is a nice idea but only if people stick to it. I’ve had a spate of this in the last few weeks. And is vandalism still having the same negative effect on towns? I’m still 5 stars and cant quite work out what it’s doing?
Buy and place a bunch of training walls and getting gratified won’t make a bit of difference to your Conform-o-Meter.
That said, I agree that if you got your neighbors from the no tagging thread, they shouldn’t do that. But sometimes accidents do happen (and you also should be making sure to leave some buildings untapped, so they have other options to tap when they visit). FWIW, when I was a low-level player, I used to like getting tagged, because it allowed me to earn money from buildings that didn’t earn money otherwise.

Since the last update I get the “you Springfield haven’t been saved” popup teven though I haven’t installed the game o any other device. I haven’t come even close to the last price of the mini event because the bigger part of my actions just gets lost… not even talking about all the donuts I’m missing out on. Any idea how I can fix it? Thanks for your help!

It happens with all my three pads when I play TSTO. Nothing really happens, so don’t worry about the message.
Well, unfortunately this time it’s a real struggle. It actually DOESN’T save my progress! I sent all characters on their jobs (e.g. to collect ribbons) and built some KEM’s and the next time I log in all characters are free and the KEM’s have never been built. I’ve already de- and reinstalled and my phone isn’t low on storage either.
What happens if you visit Krustyland and return to Springfield. This should synchronize your game and bring back the situation from before.

My phone keeps shouting out “Visitors – better put on pants” – which is a bit embarrassing in meetings. Can I stop it? In the OPTIONS I have Music vol OFF, SFX volume OFF and push notification OFF. Is there another setting I need to find?

If that doesn’t work you have to go to the app settings in your phone and turn off notifications for tsto

If you have an android, go to settings, apps, tapped out, there should be an option to recieve notifications from this app. Just click it off. Hope this helps

I’m looking forward to the new Simpsons season and think it’s time for a new Simpsons game for PS4, Xbone and PC. Maybe more along the lines of a South Park: The Stick of Truth adventure game style this time instead of action oriented

Hi there! So we are planning an Orlando trip April 2018.. last time we went there in 2016, we stopped in Springfield, AND it was awesome. I had just gotten hooked on TSTO in 2015 so this was a thrill! Trying to figure out any character dining for them? Is that just Minions and such? Or can you so that with Homer and crew? I didn’t really investigate last time. I know we bypassed Moe’s Tavern (not going to this time! I want that Barney photo!!) but anywhere else I can meet my favorite Springfielders while dining? I know there are meet and greets.. got Homer, Lisa and Bart. Just curious.. THANK YOU!

I have been KEM farming for a while but last night I noticed that ALL Kwik E Marts placed are costing $14400. Anyone else experiencing this?
You probably have some in storage that you didn’t sell. (happens to more players and more often than you think)

I found with all repeatable buildings, the more you build the more they cost until the prices seem to steady out at the following …
( I don’t recall when they begin to increase or at what rate – over to Safi for some more maths ?? )
( If you’re KEM farming, it seems you get 25% back when you sell completed buildings – a $14,400 KEM sells for $3,600 so the next is net $10,800 [$14,400 – $3,600] )

I have a bad memory and can’t remember the past Halloween themes, and I can’t even remember if I had the game during Halloween 2014… but does anyone know if they’ve done a witches theme? Specifically the Halloween episode where Marge and her sisters are witches. I think someone thing around that story line would be fun to see.
Not a full theme, but witch marge and her cauldron have been in the game for several years.
Ever since I hit level 939, I’ve done quite a bit of KEM farming. But never had a good system…just started up the XP boost, dropped as many KEMs as I could and depleted my cash.
Finally took the time during this mini-event to read Safi’s guide and did my best to follow it…checked to see how much I earned from character tasks, did the math with KEM costs to figure out how many to build where costs wouldn’t overly exceed income, and implemented the plan.
Gotta hand it to Safi…it’s working like a charm. Might not be the best return (I had days where I couldn’t check in to the game), but I’ve doubled my donuts without putting a major dent into my in-game cash. And I can afford to continue the XP boost for another 10 days!
At this rate, I’ll be good to go once Halloween starts. Maybe this year I’ll finally be able to get Homer Kong 😀

soooo looking forward to halloween, when do y’all think the exact date is gonna be? i’ve noticed a trend for the past few years, the event gets released earlier and earlier which is great! 2014 was on 7th oct, 2015 was 6th oct and 2016 was on 4th oct, maybe this years gonna be on 3rd oct? earlier the better, but that means the event would end earlier as well:(
side note: didnt really like the homerpalooza event too much…
