Update 8:50p ET: Looks like this is fixed now…at least the not being able to progress. New update downloads and you’ll get Wizard Lisa and Bart, and that will allow you to complete the beast task…

Update: So apparently I’ve missed a few bugs…I can also tell you EA sent out a patch to Android (or something), as I just got a massive in-game download. BUT now I have the crazy zoomed out bug that was going around for other devices (I have a Galazy S8). So not quite sure what’s going on….
Some are reporting problems with iOS as well. It’s not loading. However, i currently have no issues on iOS.
So yes, apparently the bug is still there…for both iOS AND Android. It gets stuck here:
And you can’t progress. For those who don’t already know, yes it’s widespread. And yes they’re working on a patch.
Also there’s a glitch with the Magic Scratch R…don’t buy it right now.

Halloween is currently LIVE on Android, iOS and Kindle! I’m on my way out the door to pick up the Tiny Addict, but i’ll update this post more when I get home.
For now know that Lisa needs to be free for a 6s task. You’ll then need to place the Chamers Market (free) and complete 6s tasks for Springfielders and Homer. Then ANOTHER 6s task for Homer, and another for Lisa. You’ll then have to build the Magic Academy (also free) and complete ANOTHER 6s task for Homer. And then you’ll FINALLY launch the event….

Each Building Will Unlock for you via the Main Questline. So just keep playing the questline and they’ll unlock…
Charmer’s Market- 10×10, As you progress through the questline crafting will unlock. Charmer’s Market is the hub for crafting
Magic Academy– 7×11, when tapped it’ll take you to the prize track hub
Karneymon’s Alley– 4×4 (Comes with Karneymon). First Beast you’ll unlock
Magic Tower– 2×2, this will act as the “clear all” for the goblins. Resets every 4hrs, tap on it and you’ll clear all Goblins in Springfield. (again, unlocks with the questline)

I’m not going to breakdown all of the craftables here, i will do (as usual) a crafting rundown post. Most of the items are returning, and several you cannot get again if you already have 1 in Springfield.
And once again, you’ll need to level up to unlock more craftables.
Goblins/Trolls
These are the tappables in Springfield tap them and they drop 2 and 2
They spawn at a rate of 1/10 minutes. Max of 40 in Springfield. There is no bank on these.
Neighbor Actions
Neighbor Actions unlock with Angelica Button and the Mystical Beasts Pt.7.
From what I see you can only tap Goblins/Trolls in neighbor’s towns and that’s it. They’ll drop 1 and 1
Fighting Beasts
This gets a bit more complicated than I’d like to get into for the rundown post. We will have a FULL detailed post up on this soon.
But it’s similar to the previous battles, but a little more thought to it. You have to clear the “mana” at the top…and each character clears so much mana.
Safi’s already working on some analysis for this, so you know it’ll be detailed and full of stats. 🙂

I purchased Treestache last night and since then, I am unable to capture him or even get into the choses in the box at the top right. The only way I can craft anything is if I tap the store/marketplace and even then I cannot get into the monster portion. Is anyone having the same issue? Is there a fix for it?

Am I the only one who thinks EA seriously dropped the ball on this year’s event Halloween 2017!?
I mean honestly, in the years I’ve been playing I’ve never seen clear blue water during Halloween. It’s always been a nice spooky murky green colour with a darker ominious tone. This isn’t my issue though, my biggest gripe is the craftable prizes this year which out of 21 prizes 7 are new. Leaving the other 14 from last year and of those 14 prizes from last Halloween 6 of them can’t be crafted because they’re a single craftable item meaning if you played last year you get nothing more to show your dedication to TSTO. Soooooo in other words the not so valued long time customers who have been playing for YEARS get the big ole shaftzilla and nothing to show except walls, bats, bramble bushes, moth infested lamps and with for it MORE GATES AND WALLS FROM LAST YEAR!!!! An don’t get me started on the act two prizes an hourglass and a crystal ball… this is all junk that will once again sit in most inventories right after this event or RIGHT after they were awarded and it’s sad to say because I’m sure hard work went into creating these items.
Perhaps said customers who feel less and less valued with each passing event because your wonderful supportive customers purchased doughnuts to fund this wonderful little game EA put together to unlock premium characters to possibly use in future events don’t get to use them at all in any future events but no now… they… just… exist. However if you have purchased premium characters for this game EA now lately expects that you’ll purchase skins to use those characters in an event but the amount for a skin is sold at an alarming rate I’m looking a you Otto in Homerpollooza 120 doughnuts for a skin and a “ROCK” sign and that was 120 on top of the 120 for Otto and the broke down bus….. honestly this was one ridiculously priced and I hope next to no one bought it. A better word comes to mind about these prices and it’s greed. It’s very greedy expecting people to fork out hundreds and hundreds of their or their parents hard earned money to fund a virtual Springfield. All I’m saying is if EA priced characters with customers in mind a more affordable price of 80 to even 100 doughnuts would be an affordable price point then maybe they would sell more units…. Just a thought. Sorry for the long rant but I’ve just about reached my breaking point with EA.

Well it’s nice to know I’m not the only one who thought/felt this way. It’s sad to think that any new user to TSTO having this as their first event is going to have this to compare to future events. Ive NEVER seen an event where my characters during the event weren’t busy doing SOMETHING FOR THE EVENT!!! For a major event that EVERYONE looks forward to, it turned out to be a major bust! This has me worried for what’s in store for Christmas 2017….

I have only got as far as he dormitory, it still seems like there is a load left to buy and I’m starting to wonder if I’m on track to be able to get everything in time.
I did notice that a couple of my friends towns had expensive things like the bell tower quite early on, I play pretty regular so am hoping I’m not missing something or slacking too much!
Unlike most events where event currency has been hard to come by each Act for the lay tapper, yet everyone can generate enough crafting currency for all three Act prizes before the first Act is even over; this event flipped the script. Event currency has been a breeze for nearly everyone. Yet even for the hardcore q4h tapper, crafting currency has been a challenge. While none of us know what EA will do, historically in similar situations, EA has corrected it’s payouts. I wouldn’t be surprised if Act 3 has more Goblin Gold payouts or they add Goblin Gold to the Daily Challenge rewards. But I’m not sure. Only EA knows if they will do that.

Is anyone else having an issue where Wizard Martin doesn’t show up at all? When I battle/enchant the beasts it only shows Lisa, Bart, and Milhouse but never Martin?
Do you have the Wizard Martin skin? Regular Martin doesn’t do that, only Wizard Martin.
It is the same “game” we get for every update! I cant believe that out of all of the Halloween characters I have all of them and they have no tasks. Same with buildings!
This Halloween update just feels lame and boring to me. Wish the old Halloween building still gave even currency like they use to if the kids do nothing after the enchant why not have trick or treat task to earn event currency ?
So I’ve finished the capture and release jobs, I can’t seem to send those people on ant event currency related jobs now, is that right?
Also totally wish they made the houses have Halloween decorations like we have for Christmas!
I believe you mean Capture and Enchant? Once they’ve been Enchanted, you can continue to Release them every 4 hours to earn wands and decor. Alissa’s article here explains Releasing.
Yes I meant Capture & Enchant sorry. Just read some comments in Alissa’s article and does seem like there isn’t anything else for the wizard characters to do to earn event currency now. Just the 100 wands and decorations from the beasts until Act 2? Thanks Safi.
I warned the Unicorn Wizard but I was in another Springfield. Game said it went into storage. It did not, I’ve looked everywhere. The Unicorn Wizard is checked off, like I have it. But I do not. Thoughts?

I just had the same thing happen.
Was tapping goblins in a neighbour’s town and got the message that I earned the unicorn (and that I’d find it in my inventory). Nope! Not in inventory.
I’ve closed and restarted twice and nothing. 🙁
Looked in the town hall to see if it showed up on my list of characters and it wasn’t listed.
Unicorn wizard shows up in Town Hall. Maybe a closer look at the inventory, sometimes things are not where you think they should be.
Not my first week playing this game Chuck.
When I say not in inventory or in the character list of Town Hall, I already looked twice, and Unicorn Wizard is NOT there.
I had the same issue as Jeff posted. Earned the wands, a notice came up saying the UW would be in inventory, it wasn’t. UW is checked off on my Act1 prizes won. (And yes, I’ve restarted the game & my tablet several times already)
It’s happened in the past. Unfortunately the solution is contact ea
UPDATE: I emailed EA (via in-game help) and in 10min had a reply. They did something on their end, I rebooted and UW was there in inventory.

Previous Halloween updates used to be fun. But really- this update is lame. A lot of craft items I already have and the main prizes are meh. Glad to see that I’m not the only one disappointed.
UGH!😦 I have just been robbed yet Again! I purchased the mystery box and the gypsy building popped up but it is not in my Inventory! Went to Krusty Land, nothing! Deleted and reinstalled the game, nothing!!! Emailed EA and got a message asking for a screen shot of my purchasing it??? SAY WHAT.?..?😲 Um correct me if I am wrong but who takes a screen shot of every thing they buy and how am I suppose to show them it is NOT in my inventory under ANY section?🤔 Combine this loss of 65 DOUGH nuts with not receiving the 60 doughnuts when I bought Sqeaky teen skin and I think it might be time to call the BBB, FCC, and Dr. Marvin Monroe for some therapy!! 😨🤕😫
You seem to have a few problems. Taking screen shots in your next purchases may catch the error and EA will then take your word for it. It is always good to take a few that show your donuts and money counts every few months in case something does happen.
I can no longer take screen shots since EA changed to the easy storage function. You know, the rest your finger on the screen and it triggers the move/store capability highlighting any building, decoration etc under your finger. Uuuuhh….well… that used to be how I could trigger the screen shot option on my Kindle. Haven’t been able to do any screen shots since that game update, so it would suck if they no longer take a person’s word on it and require a screen shot to dispense any customer service or help when you experience loot, character, store item purchases, donut loss etc…
Do you have a phone with a camera or a digital camera?
[power button + volume down button] <– this should work for you.
Hold the power button and volume down button at the same time to take a screen capture on a Kindle (or it works on my Kindle Fire HD, original version). Sometimes it takes a couple of tries to get it to work…part of the trick is to keep them down for a couple of seconds (until you hear the shutter-click sound).
The crafting is really poor in this event with nearly all of it being repeats from previous events. i also prefer events in which there are benefits for both parties when you interact with other speingfields. I’m disappointed with this Halloween event so far.
Totally agree with you. I would also add that it is not worthy of being a Halloween event; it should have been done some other time of the year. I have to admit that I am not a fan of either the Angelica Buttons or Harry Potter franchises, but I could have tolerated it better if it hadn’t co-opted the Halloween event that I was looking forward to.
Also, the fact that there is almost nothing in the crafting section worth having means that I am just ignoring that whole part of the event. Everything that I could accumulate in this event I either already have or could do without – though the dragon looks nice (but I’m not sure he is worth 200 donuts).
I played the Scratch-R for $5.00 & only received 100 doughnuts 🙁

I didn’t get anything great out on my mystery boxes..I got the battle dome..meh, at least it pays out, but i also got the Gate to Nowhere.
What does this do? All i can find is that it’s a returning item from a act three prize from 2015. Will it craft things for this event when activated? Thanks.
Gate to Nowhere provides a 10-hour task (Take a Break from Reality) that Kang and Kodos can each do. They basically go inside the gate and if either/both are inside, the gate does its whirling glow and occasional blink (what it briefly does when tapped). Since they already have a combined 10-hour task (Exchange Long Protein Strings), the Gate to Nowhere is kinda meh. Looks kinda cool in use but new task is not a new slot as far as # of hours.
Is there a problem with the Magical Academy Castle Walls from crafting? I first crafted the bonsai then the bats, both now have ticks and no problems placing them in my town. I’ve just crafted the walls which has taken me to crafting level 2 but the walls item is not ticked and they don’t appear to be in my inventory or anywhere else. Am I missing something?
Try going to Krustyland and back and see if that fixes your problem. If not, then, yeah, you may have an issue with your game.
Thanks but the trip to Krustyland didn’t help. Have also tried deleting and reinstalling game, still no Academy walls.
Time to call EA, I guess. 🙁

Hello all, I do not post often, but I read TSTOaddicts every day, I love you guys.! One question, a bit off topic, but I just got Ghost Maude from the Mystery Box…and I thought there was a questline associated to it….Nothing triggered…Will the questline starts after Halloween?
Hard to say…it had to do with Homer, so if he is busy it may not trigger. But, I have had her since day one…
You need to get Maude out of inventory and place the shop. You also need to have Mona Simpson, since the first task is with her.
