Fall has arrived and there’s a haze over our Springfield’s, that can only mean one thing….it’s Halloween in our pocket-sized towns! This year EA’s thrown a little magic into the mix, with an Angelica Button theme invading our towns. An all new event means loads of new premium items in our stores just tempting us to drop those donuts while they’re hot!
Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Wiggops and his Station to your Springfield (or just WTH you need Wiggops for anyway. Or Why it says he comes with decorations?)? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this one-eyed beast to your town…
Character (Beast): Wiggops

Pros
-Comes with dialogue and a short questline
-Helps you earn more event currency (captures/enchant the Beast. Then release.
-Comes with some fun bonus decorations (3 different ones, but you can have multiples of each)
-Less expensive than the Beastarium AND potentially earns more currency overall. (if you send 3-4/time to capture/enchant)
Cons
-As of right now, aside from earning event currency in “battles”, it’s just an NPC. NO tasks (at the moment) associated with it
-Lair is just a decoration, doesn’t earn bonus %
Both a Pro and Con: As of right now, this combo’s biggest benefit is the event. After the event it doesn’t seem like it’ll do much for you (beyond be an NPC and the decorations)
Final Thought
Premium:
I like this over the Beastarium. Here’s why: it’s cheaper (10 donuts less) and has the potential to earn more event currency. (Beastarium earns 100 wands/4hrs. This can earn 200 wands/4 hrs (assuming you send 4 wizards at a time) and once the dark mana is cleared and the light is filled it’ll earn 100/4hrs). So if you’re going for one over the other, I’d pick this one. Plus he comes with 3 ddifferentbonus decorations (that you can unlock multiples of)
Freemium:
Not necessary for the event to be completed successfully, and it’s just an NPC/decoration. So I’d save your donuts for something bettter. BUT if you’re debating between this and the Beastarium, i’d go with this.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ll probably grab him. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now). Also, this is one of those items that helps with the event. So if you’re picking it up grab it sooner rather than later, so it can help you the most. So if you’re planning on picking it up I’d do so by this weekend. (but I still think you should skip it…)

And here are the decorations he comes with. I’ll have a FULL breakdown of these in a post tomorrow, but decorations are unlocked AFTER you clear the Dark Mana (Capture Beasts) and fill the Light Mana (Enchant them). You’ll then have to “Release” the Beasts. Each Release (4hrs) unlocks a decoration. There are 3 total decorations, but you can unlock each more than once. Here’s what they look like for Wiggops:
Pretty sure the rock on the car is my favorite….(but no unlock the premium police car that one doesn’t help with Righteousness or earn a bonus %)

Does anyone know if the capturing/ fighting of Wiggops is limited to the four times its quest indicates or will it be permanently available afterwards? Got him from the Black Friday offer..
Just got wiggops for his decorations…does anyone know whether I would have to finish the capture and enchant process before the event ends to get the decorations?
Yes, you can only Release for decorations after he’s been fully Captured and Enchanted.
Thanks safi but do you know if I have to do it all before the event ends? Or can I still capture and enchant afterwards?
I bought Wiggops and don’t regret it. Once he is tamed he sleeps on his own time and eats donuts when in use. I really like the animation and hope it remains after the event.

Do we know if this will turn into a character after the event or just an NPC? I like the look of him but I don’t want another NPC just to be wandering around

I think most of the monsters will end up in my storage once the event is over. I keep plenty of weird things in my town, but weird characters wandering around tend to bug me. Probably won’t be paying for this one.

I picked up A.Buttons, so I got Kearneymon captured & am now working on Enchanting him. I’d already started working on Capturing Lewd before I realized it’s probably better to finish one Beastie before moving on to another if you only have 2-4 Wizards available. Am considering picking up Martin’s costume, but I already have his Elsa premium costume, which he wears whenever he’s not on the Railyard (“Make New Friends” ftw! 😂).
Do you think one would honestly have time to unlock Wiggops before Act 2 begins, if one has to Capture/Enchant the 2 freebie Beasties one at a time?
(And why no bonus for filling up all 4 Doors when working on a Beastie?! Was really bummed out when I saw that! 😢)
Thanks for everything you & the team do for the TSTOAddicts site! I’d be lost without it! I stagnated for a bit on my own initally, because I didn’t realize you HAD to complete all the quests to progress. For instance, I didn’t work on Matt Groening’s quest for a looooong time, because I cared not for adding him or the Writers Building to my town! 😆
Considering how few characters we have to battle monsters and how many monsters there are already, I don’t know if he’s that much of an advantage at this point. I got him because I liked the look of him and hopefully the battle part will even out as more characters are added as the event goes on.
I grabbed *all* of the monsters that are presently available… and like you, I’m not entirely convinced that I’m going to get to take much advantage of them. I need more wizards!
Okay… with subsequent posts from the addicts and with me progressing further along the task list, I think I’m starting to get it now. I don’t need too many more wizards after all; If I understand Cranky’s recent post correctly, I really just need to throw everything I have at them one monster at a time, until the monsters are all earning wands on their own. Then in the subsequent acts, as EA tosses more monsters at me, my wizards will simply shift to attacking the newer monsters.
It seems a bit more convoluted than past events, to me… but it still makes some sense, in its own peculiar way. Also, it’s looking like maybe this is going to produce quite a lot of unique NPCs, all coming out of a single event… I suppose that’ll make some people quite happy. (Eh, Brooders?) 😀
BINGO! And frankly…even the “throwing them all at one” isn’t required, unless you are trying to finish sooner, and move onto the “Bonuts” round.
The REAL point I was trying to make, is that I am totally Freemium on this one. I don’t/won’t have ANY of the premium hunters or beasts…and am still waaaay ahead of the calendar to get the final prize in Act I. There is just no need to spend money…or panic.
Oh, I wholeheartedly agree, and I don’t spend any (real) money, and I wasn’t really panicking… but I play differently from you: I farm donuts like crazy in large part to spend during events, so I’ve purchased both wizards and monsters, and I’m also ahead of the calendar even though I started a day late.
But my own point was simply this: if I tackle them one at a time, than won’t I reach the stage of autonomous wand generation for each monster, that much more quickly? That means that the first monster I finish will be auto-generating wands *while* I’m attacking the second monster, and so on, down the line. And I would think that should be true for everyone, regardless of whether or not they buy premium content.
Do forget to go to settings to confirm donuts spend. Updates can reset that option. Just wasted 120 donuts on accident. Contacted EA. Would refund or reimburse. Total garbage. Really left a bad taste.

This is unrelated to the blog that was posted but I’ve been thinking this for a whIle.
I know that Phil Hartman’s characters were retired from the show when he died but this game is separate from the show and Springfield doesn’t feel like Springfield if there’s no Lionel Hutz and Troy McClure. I even think they should be voiced so that younger Simpsons fans that enjoy the newer seasons might go back and see how funny Phil Hartman was/is.
It’s like how we lost Marcia Wallace a few years ago. Springfied can’t be Springfield unless Mrs. Krabappel is in our tiny little Springfields.
By the way, Tom Petty just died. If there is an after life, Lucky and LouAnne can be together again to make us laugh some more from the other side.

Text on character says he will earn XP and money by sending on tasks. This suggests he is NOT an NPC. If this is true then he is very good value.

This is one of those situations where “let’s see what happens” won’t do. We will only find out for sure after the event by which time it will be too late. Surely your post should mention that EA claims he will “Earn money and XP by setting jobs.”. Certainly, it’s a risk but the evidence at the moment is that he is not an NPC.
Right now he doesn’t. I don’t see any indication that he will. My GUESS is that you’ll be able to release him after the event for cash and XP, instead of wands and gold. I do not believe he’ll have a set of tasks. It seems that the earn money and xp relates to releasing him after the event is over.
The treestache says the same thing, and we already know he doesn’t have tasks because he was a character before the event.
I’m not putting that information in the post if i don’t believe it. Because if it doesn’t happen, no matter what disclaimer I put in there, people will be upset that he doesn’t. There is absolutely zero evidence (images, game files, tasks etc) that he will have a full set of tasks. Even after the event. EA can put misleading info in the game but I won’t put it on this site.
That makes a lot of sense. Thanks Alissa. Thinking about it, proper premium characters say that they earn 50% more cash and XP, not just cash and XP.

Yes. But you have to remember to free him every 4hrs

This is not about Wiggops, but I was wondering what anyone’s thoughts on the magic scratch r are. What is the lowest amount of donuts possible? Is it better to spend 5 bucks to get SVT and 120 donuts or take the chance on the scratch r?
Not sure if the update fixed this but for a
while many players got 100 donuts on the first try…I know I did and a few others. I got it about 6 hours ago.
The prizes are 1 Bomb=60 2 Bombs=85 3 Clubs=100 3 Mallets=125
3 Cleaver’s=300 3 Axes=2400 I would say you need to hit at least the cleaver’s to make it more worthwhile than 120 donuts and a skin.
OK I gave it a try… 2 bombs = 85D, not so bad. Now I can affort A.B. 🙂

Seems like most people are getting 100 donuts or less on the Scratch R so I’d go for SVT.
There is a slight fault with your argument that this earns more event currency than the bestarium – even if you have four kids (some might only have three), you can send them to capture the other creatures, and the bestiarium still earns extra, which gives you 300 wands every four hours. If you get the station, you only get 200 wands, because you can only send the kids after one monster at a time.
I originally was not going to buy him, but the bonus decorations are pretty cool! Definitely deserves some donuts now (including the one on his horn 😛)

The crushed car and lard lad donuts are cool decorations. Not sure what I’ll do with the weapon rack. Still, I like this.
Just had a massive update and what looked like a UNICEF promotion for Puerto Rico. Did not notice any changes but already miss the wide zoom showing more of tsto town😕. Makes designing a lot more enjoyable with wider image

I got the PR message, but no zoom out.
The only change I noticed is that the crafting for Magic Academy Castle Walls now shows 4 walls, instead of 1. I have no idea if it gave only 1 wall before or if it was always 4, but the graphic has definitely changed. The same goes for Iron Walls, Hanging Streetlamps, Gargoyle Walls, and Spooky Brambles.
I bought this just for the Event. Wiggops is going to get mighty cold come winter time.
I love the look of him and his station, but I’m freemium so I can’t afford him. If I could I’d certainly buy him.
