ICYMI there was an all-new episode of Addicts Live yesterday. Where we broke down the ins and outs of the Halloween Event, as well as our hot takes on the magical theme.

Halloween has arrived in Springfield! Yes, the familiar dark haze has covered our screens as Beasts and Wizards come to life in our Pocket-Sized towns. What are your initial thoughts on the Halloween Event? Excited to see the Potter theme?

Has the rocket ship and the insanity cauldron stopped giving % items? I have not gotten any in at least two months now. would like to know of I should even bother doing it anymore. I k ow that for the dig site any % item is a one time only item .
No, they still continue to dish out the rare XP % bonus giving items. Keep at it!
Better effect on conformity meter: mystery boxes or tentacle trees?
Nearly everyone who is mass purchasing Mystery Boxes is already at 5*****, so the effects on conformity are moot.
I just received a topiary and a donut from cleaning up the debris.
I just cleaned up approximately 120 debris items and got 3 donuts
Rare but still happening. Haven’t played the cauldron for a while but received my third mini-nuke last week from the rocket launch since the game became available
Third?? ((sigh)) My count is still at zero. 🙁
I thought 3 was a low count considering how long the mini game has been available. Sorry, the intention was not to rub it in on anyone.😶
No worries…I didn’t take your post as anything negative about you or your actions. I’m just frustrated that, despite launching the rocket at least once a day, and frequently twice, I have yet to get one. But, from what I’ve seen in the comments, you are either right on average or maybe above. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone post about getting more than three yet, but that didn’t mean that there aren’t folks who have gotten more than three, but just haven’t mentioned it (or that I missed it if someone has).
It’s a crying shame that EA doesn’t have a web page like tsto addicts for people like us to post criticism to the people who are the “creative minds” behind the game. It seems the past 2 years, the amount of creativity in that board room has regressed immensely. Shameful really. This game was once a true joy to play, and it has become someone that we addicts just keep doing because we keep hoping it might get better again soon!
I go on this site frequently but hardly ever comment. Anyway is it just me or is this event the worst. I’ve been playing for years and I have over 100 characters but this one uses a whopping 3. Lisa, Bart and Magic Act Milhouse are the only ones who can capture the monsters. Every quest is a pick and choose for Lisa only. Am I missing something? You can send the kids to magic school I guess but that doesn’t even earn the currency for all the crafting of old Halloween stuff I already have. Everything else is just a grind. Send the 3 characters to work on Lewd, grind grind grind (use employee center to make it bearable) no halloween fun for anyone else. A magic Harry Potter themed event could be cool if it used more characters this doesn’t even use magical Marge skin. I know they want us to buy stuff but this is ridiculous, especially for a game that takes 90% of my phone storage. I will stop playing if things don’t improve, I’m just glad I haven’t spent a lot of real money on it.
I’ve started playing again. I may even get bonuts! I’m not for or against the Harry Potter theme. I have never read any of the books or watched a movie. It just doesn’t feel halloweeny to me. But I’m ok with that because it’s a game! And Happy Sunday, or Wednesday or I think it might technically be Thursday! Whatever it is have a happy day!
Might be time to set my Springfield out to pasture. Boring uninspired event with no content worth grinding for. The last several events I’ve slowly lost interest and was hoping the THOH event would restart my fire. But alas, I’ll just play something else. It’s been a fun four years.
The Tentacle Tree is available for 10 net donuts for 1% increase. A nice addition for those seeking %.
I’m going to get one for sure. I am two donuts away 🙂 I just bought the Inanimate Carbon Rod Statue a few days ago and am happy to be almost up to 18 donuts already. Earning the donuts is a bit of work but worth it for cool stuff like The Tentacle Tree 🙂

No. It’s a good XP buy, but the mystery boxes are still better.
Donut for Donut the mystery boxes are a better deal. I usually keep buying them until the 30 donut payout then give it a break. Hmm….. I wonder if there is someone out there that could do a breakdown on mystery boxes vs. tentacle trees, someone with mad math skills? I looking at you Super Safi.

The tree and other item for 10 donuts per 1% are good for people who don’t want more vans/billboards that are going to be hidden behind buildings.
True, but eventually you can have too many tentacle trees and make an argument for the jet engine bikes that give 1% for 15 donuts. And then eventually you can have too many jet engine bikes and make an argument for the various items that give 1% for 20 donuts.
True. The point I was trying to make is that some items (for example, police cars) get discounted (vault) to 10 donuts per 1% and it is a good buy if you have a place to show them, versus the 6-8 donuts for something you are going to hide. The Jet Bike (normally) is more than twice the price of the MB.
the good thing about the news van is that it’s a normal looking vehicle, so even if you run out places to hide them, you can still park them all over town and just pretend you have a very newsworthy springfield. which it probably is anyway…. 😁

I think the unicorn looks cute- i’m only 1 or prizes away from the unicorn so soon it can join my Springfield.
I also think the craftable ‘bonsai beings’ (with the ‘ghost’ of Database, Martin and Wendell) is nice, Or maybe that’s just because of Wendell. 🙂
Now all EA needs to do is turn the Ghost Wendell into a real playable character of Wendell and I will be very happy. 🙂
I hope you enjoy the Unicorn! I got mine today and he is helping Lisa, Bart and Milhouse enchant Lewd. I have Kearneymon working for me earning 100 wands every four hours and am just five four hour sessions away from capturing Lewd for good. Yay!

I’m not loving this event. I love HP, but this isn’t quite HP and isn’t quite Halloween. It’s just weird.
Can the kids earn anything after beating Lewd and Kearnykorn(sp?)? Now I have them back on monorail unless I’m missing something else they can do.
It appears you can reanimate them by giving them light mana, whatever that means. You only need 2 characters for those tasks so you can possibly monorail and monsters ball at the same time.
I am sorry to be negative, but this Halloween event is the worst yet. It’s so lazy. Four and half years ago I started playing… I remember my first event, it was wacking day. I actually really enjoyed that, I did not complete the prize track as I was new to the game. But still it was challenging in a good way. My first Halloween I loved so much. On this time I was in hospital and it kept me going. There were interactions with neighbours, communal prizes for everyone to work together, stuff to do and it was actually the best event this game has ever had. So what has happened to this silly game of ours? Fast forward from October 2013 to 2017 and what do we have? A game that requires three or four clicks every four hours. How is that fun. I don’t even care that it some Harry Potter rip off this year. There is no challenge, the crafting prizes I can’t get because most of them are from previous years and I already have them. I understand that they need to please newer players, but for the love of god they need to keep the established community happy too.
Preach on, brother! I’m with you. The game has gotten extremely lame and stuck in its own ruts.
The last few events people have finished with a week to spare, so I guess you could do it with logging in every 8 hours. I have already have the unicorn in 3 of my games and not far in my fourth game which has no premium items.
ITA. So boring and so lazy on the part of EA to put out this lame event. There’s nothing to really DO and the Harry Potter spoof was cute for an 8 minute segment on THOH over a decade ago but it’s not really enough for a full event. And, do we really need another frigging outfit for Lisa?!?!? Love the character, but she (and Homer and Bart) are way over used as the “leads” in events. There are dozens of characters in The Simpsons…use some of the terrific supporting characters to lead your story! (Or, poor old underused Marge…who basically gets her hair done 3 times a day…)
Possible glitch in our favor for once! I completed my monorail missions to get 5 donuts and the game is allowing me to keep making track pieces, and hopefully more donuts. Hope I’m right!
EA got rid of the 1 week reset a couple weeks ago. Many people have turned in 25k blue prints and earned 5 donuts over a dozen times, with few even having done so over two dozen times.

I’m lovin’ the donuts from the monorail. I try to login every hour I can within reason to earn metal. I even paid 26 donuts to speed Brandine’s pregnancy so she could help me collect more metal. lol
