Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Fall has arrived and there’s a haze over our Springfield’s, that can only mean one thing….it’s Halloween in our pocket-sized towns! This year EA’s thrown a little magic into the mix, with an Angelica Button theme invading our towns. An all new event means loads of new premium items in our stores just tempting us to drop those donuts while they’re hot!
Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Walking Kwik-E-Mart to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this elevated kwik-e to your town…
Building/Decoration:Walking Kwik-E-Mart
Donut Cost: 55 Donuts
Size: 4×7
Earns: $135, 15xp/4hrs
Conform-O-Meter: Consumerism +10
Other Info: Can be placed on Grass|pavement|boardwalk|dirt|pier
Leaves stores October 13th
Pros
-Comes with dialogue and a short questline
-Apu has a permanent 4hr task there (Bolt Down Products), which earns at a premium rate
-Characters will all earn at a premium rate for questline (if you don’t send Apu on his task there for the questline you can keep earning that infinitely)
-Always animated when not in use. Legs move around..kind of dances in place.
Cons
-When Apu (or another character) is using it, it will come down to the ground (like a normal building). So that “walking” animation ends
-Doesn’t actually walk. More like walks in place.
-No benefit for this event, just a whimsical building
Final Thought
Premium:
Meh. It’s another building for Springfield. Another Kwik-E-Mart that Apu will have a task at, and that’s about it. If you like how it looks grab it, otherwise pass. There are better items to buy with this event.
Freemium:
Pass. Don’t even think on it, just pass. Far better items to spend your Freemium donuts on.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I’ll be passing. Just doesn’t seem worth the donuts. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).
Here’s a look at the questline…
Inconvenience Store
Apu starts
Apu: I will not allow my precious store to be ruined by whimsy. I’ve never been a mover and a shaker and I don’t want to be now!
Kirk: This place is jumping around more than Milhouse on meds. And it’s making me queasy!
Make Apu Bolt Down Products- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
Make Springfielders Get Motion Sick- x3. 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp
What are your thoughts on the Walking Kwik-E-Mart? Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Why or why not? Where have you placed it in Springfield? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!
Hi. I started the task for apu and he and everyone else, have been stuck. They’ll come out and money is rewarded but they go back without me making them go back. I click on the ! That I see on Apus picture indicating he’s done, but nothing happens. How do I fix this please?!
Thanks!
I sent Apu on his task before reading this… I am very sad and angry with myself right now… I worked hard to get this one
I thought about it for a minute and stored the Walking Kwik-E-Mart and it cancelled Apu’s task like I had never sent him. Close call!
The cash payout on this has been incredible so far and now it is simple to “clear” my town and quickly send my townspeople on task again. Apu is now an unwelcome pariah in my town and has been banished to perpetual Kwik-E-Mart service for being lame and a thorn in my side
The 4-hour task thing does not work for me, it just says that 3/3 is completed… I did not send Apu so the task remains, but I can’t send any more characters…. Is there any way I can make it mork again? 😞
Alright, my bad! I can send characters on the task, just not from the task book. Witch is a little bit disappointing since it makes it so easy when you can.
You can send everyone on a 4h task using the unemployment office, and everyone who can will use the task associated with this building.
It’s actually easier to find Apu, send him on a long task 12hrs/24hrs just to get rid of him and then click on the “Office of Unemployment” building then send everyone on 4hr task. The 4hr task will be the premium one. Which u can check by seeing them scrambling back to the same “walking Kwik-e-mart.”
But you can still use the unemployment office, and it will use that as the default 4-hour task for any characters who can go there.
If u sent Apu on the 4hr bolt down task, then u have blown your chances. I haven’t, so I’m still able to send 230 characters on the “premium paid” 4 hr task
This was posted 5 days after the building was available and I completed the tasks already. Can you further explain the “perpetual premium tasks” that people are talking about?
So…. Every PC that it’s a Springfielder
can go to a Premium task
if you not send Apu to the “bolt down” task
you would be under a loop
My $ income do not increase
because $ ratio per 4h cycle
is like 15:85 % (PC/Buildings)
I missed the opportunity for perpetual 4-hour premium tasks for the majority of my characters with the She-She Lounge (and the Anvil), so I bought this right away, primarily for that. I don’t understand how you can note that as being one of the “pros” in your breakdown, but then come to a “meh – it’s just another building” conclusion, especially for premium/farmium players.
It’s also a nice addition to the variety of Kwik-E-Mart buildings we’ve been offered (and I do enjoy the whimsical reference to Howel’s Moving Castle).
Because i don’t cater to farmium players in these posts. If you’re a hard core donut farmer you’re pretty much going to buy things regardless of what i say.
But if you’re a true freemium player that uses bonuts from everywhere but donut farming, it’s not worth spending those donuts. It’s meh
That’s to say in my analysis i don’t cater to farmium. Obviously the pros and cons apply to all players
But freemium players need cash and XP, too! I don’t think I understand what you’re saying…. I guess I was looking at it as something that can turn almost all of one’s freemium characters into premium characters (at least for that time frame), which seemed like it had quite a bit of value to it. But, whatever….
If you’ve been playing the game long enough regardless of player status you likely have more than enough in-game cash than you know what to do with….
If you don’t do anything with you game cash, you would run into debt when you cross the 2 giga game cash line.
True, but never too much XP, because XP = donuts.
To some, not to others.
Can you explain that? It’s my understanding that every player, whether freemium, farmium, or premium, gets one or more donuts (depending on their level) when they fill their XP meter. So what am I missing when I say XP = donuts?
That not everyone cares about XP. Yea, it’s nice. But not everyone cares about filling their XP bars. There are plenty of players that get donuts from where’s maggie, railyard, etc but just don’t care about their XP meter. We see them comment often.
Speaking for myself, once I got the Maggie facade for the Mountain I stopped caring about my XP.
Not everyone plays the same way. What makes sense for you may not make sense for another player. Some players like the bonus % on items for their cash on hand, so they can buy more land etc.
I’d also never tell a player to buy a building (in my analysis) because you can take advantage of skipping a task on the questline to send people often. What happens if you accidentally send Apu? That advantage goes away and you’re left with a building that doesn’t do much else. So yes, it’s a pro. But it’s not a reason to buy the building, which is what i generally spell out in my analysis.
Fair point about accidentally sending Apu and how that might affect your buy/don’t buy recommendation based on the perpetual premium tasks.
But, although I do understand that you (and some others) don’t care about filling your XP, that still mystifies me…I don’t care about filling it for the sake of filling it, I only care about filling it because it’s another way to earn bonuts, like Maggie and the rail yard. If it didn’t earn donuts, yeah, I wouldn’t care about out either, since I have the complete mountain and am at the top level. But that’s okay….I don’t have to understand…I mostly pressed the point because, by nature, I’m generally very interested in other people’s thought processes, especially when they differ from my own, not because I was trying to criticise you. It’s like if someone told me they saw a $20 bill lying on the street but didn’t pick it up….I’d be surprised and curious to know why, because it seems like something anyone would want to do (I certainly would!). But if they told me that they’re a real germaphobe and it wasn’t worth even $20 to them to take a chance on acquiring new germs, then at least I’d understand, even if I still didn’t agree that the trade-off was worth it.
I kinda understand your point
but…
For some of TSTOPlayers
the $ gained from PCs per 4H Cycles
are very low…
between 10~35%
(Most of the $ come from buildings)
So… the all PREMIUM tasks did not get
a major impact on the #KemFarming
4lvinos from Brazil
Something you can do with this is hold off sending Apu on his 4 hour task, an instead just use the Springfielders one. If you do, you can use the Unemployment Office to send everyone on a 4 hour task, and the majority of the characters will do theirs at this building. Then you only have one place to collect instead of spending 5-10 minutes tapping around the entire city to collect all the money.
I send Apu on a seven day task so I don`t have to worry about completing the quest line by mistake.
absolutely.

A deserved tribute
Funny GIFs on the link… but it’s BuzF
I really don’t like those news channels.
Does this special KEM use up the $220 slot occupied by your second KEM? If so, having it around makes each round of KEM farming up to $2000 more expensive.
no, it doesn’t.
actually i was mistaken, i think it does…. first one now starts at $260.
Blocko KEM? What am I missing here?
I have a Blocko store in my Springfield, which stands for a Danish toy company from the town of Billund, which makes plastic blocks. It has made the Simpson House and Apu’s Kwik-E-Mart.
HOWLS MOVING CASTLE!!! 😀
Ok, I had to google but I get it on two counts now,
the magic and it’s mobile …
from: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0347149/
When an unconfident young woman is cursed with an old body by a spiteful witch, her only chance of breaking the spell lies with a self-indulgent yet insecure young wizard and his companions in his legged, walking castle.

Suddenly I have a beep in my eyes 🙄
If you don’t send Apu on his part of the questline, giving most of the characters a premium 4h job, you can earn a lot of in game cash. And if you set and clear jobs every 4 hours this has an added benefit of grouping so many of your characters at one location. But at what point is it no longer worth it? When you have $100 million? $500 million? A billion?
For several months I have been running the “Get Down at the Anvil” task that pays premium Based on the size of my KEM farm, my in game cash value rarely grows, nor does it deplete drastically from the $11 million mark. If you weren’t spending money on KEM farming, perhaps you’d reach those higher $ value you have suggested, but there is no value in the game to having that much cash on hand,
It’s not the premium cash return that excites me….it’s the premium XP return! More XP = more donuts (especially if you’re always running the collider, like I do).
Bought immediately. It reminds me of Howl’s Moving Castle, my favorite Hayao Miyazaki movie!
I 💰it and made a mental🗯 note to NOT send Apu to complete his quest so I could keep the 4 hr premium quests. However, it seems as though I misplaced that 🎵due to an automatic response🤖(a.k.a. brainwashing) playing Tapped Out📱 has instilled in all of us!
Must . . Complete . . Questline . . !!
My She She lounge questline has been open since Valentines Day.
I have the Blocko Kwik-E-Mart, so it was a nobrainer for me.
Seeing it move reminds me of a cat clawing into a carpet.
I am thinking of how to mechanize my Blocko KEM.
Gil is back. And I must say, the thing he sells this time is bad even for a Gil deal.
This one is pretty bad…
My angry mob has gone lazy and didn’t drive Gill out of town, covered in tar and feathers.
(I caved in and exceeded Gill’s offer)
Exceeded = excepted
I know. So bad! A dragon. Yep, I paid whatever they asked. I’m an idiot. But it’s a dragon!
You said it…not me. LOL!
Ditto… I LOVE DRAGONS! ❤
(most expensive NPC ever) ⁉
WHALE! Oops, I guess that is actually categorized as a decoration….
How can you say no to a Dragon?!
You can’t say no to a dragon, even a lousy Gil deal one.
Wiggops and Treestache came to 125 donuts for two critters, Burns dragon for 199 seems excessive putting it mildly.
I’ll wait and see what act 2 brings or maybe, just maybe consider if EA do the usual another chance to buy / returning items routine in act 3
I am definitely passing since there is still act 2 and act 3. Plus i rarely get Gil items since there are over priced. EA …. This idea of overpricing items is getting me very annoying to the point that i am starting to lost interest. For me to say that is tough because i have been with the game from day one except i pass the Superheroes event and the soccer event. I did the disappearing act because of the lack of interest. Lol
This is what happens in a “free donut society”. Prices increase, and those who don’t take advantage of the donut farming/bonuts end up paying the price.
So…you’re saying our KEM farming utopian society has a downside?
Stupid free donuts! Why’d I ever farm you? WHY???!!!???
O agree with you. But the first Gil deal ever was a homer cristimas skin and a building for 200 donuts.
And the skin was (is) not premium !
As a Miyazaki fan, I immediatly bought this one. I’m really surprised you didn’t mention the reference to Howl’s Moving Castle in this review. It will fit well with the craftable Bonsai Beings (a reference to Princess Mononoke) and.. well… another Miyazaki item soon to be released 😉
2 things… 1) the average person on this site problem wouldn’t know what that meant (I know I don’t have a clue) and 2) i try to stick to things that relate it to the game itself. But I’m glad you found a personal connection with it 🙂
The exact reason I gravitated to this one. Every time I see it, I think of Sophie and Howl.
Loved Howl’s moving castle, but it’s been a while…now this will make me think of it whenever I see it🏰😊.
What Miyazaki item are you talking about? Will it cost donuts?
I also thought of Howl’s Moving Castle so I had to buy this!
Sorry, you know this website is spoiler-free and I do respect this rule. But yeah, it will cost donuts if it is released
Can you at least tell me what price range to expect? I have 180 donuts atm but am looking to buy more mysterie boxes.
Thank you for doing SISD with this.
I kinda disagree for the more or less first time. I think animation is cool and it does some nice walk gestics.
And dont forget that it has some task for springfield with prem outcome.
So why not get this one. I like it.
Wow. After reading the description, I’m really glad I didn’t spend any donuts on it. I was kind of hoping for some sort of a hybrid NPC/building that wandered around town, adding sort of a hunting for it experience.
I think it is FUN! 🎃
Thanks for the breakdown. Definitely getting it, I’ve been dying for a 4hr premium task for Apu for over 3 years. Blends in well with KEM farming. I might just exploit that 4hrs premium task for others and not send Apu yet.
Thanks again from your Aussie friend 😎
The fire station gives Apu a premium costume and tasks.
That’s only if u forked out the high price for twin costumes for Homer & Apu. Which I did not. Basically paying the one heavy price for one skin.
As I have plenty of 4hr Homer skins.
