Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Fall has arrived and there’s a haze over our Springfield’s, that can only mean one thing….it’s Halloween in our pocket-sized towns! This year EA’s thrown a little magic into the mix, with an Angelica Button theme invading our towns. We’ve got beasts to battle, creatures to capture, wizards to wand wave and goblin gold to gather! Quite a few alliteration altercations huh?
This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Acts containing part of the story. To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event. For the second act you’re tasked with collecting Fairy Dust (
) to unlock each prize!
The Second Act 2 Prize awarded at 5,600 is Suffoclock of Sandy Doom, because like “sand through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives”…
So let’s take a closer look at this second prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…
Once you’ve collected 5,600 you’ll automatically be the hourglass and you’ll see this message popup:
And you’ll have the option to place the hourglass in your Springfield or store it in your inventory for later. If you place it you’ll see a little bit of dialogue that appears:

Wiggum: So, this is the scene of the crime. But no sign of evidence? This is great news! We get to pack it up and go home. Another SPD success story!
Lou: But we did nothing, Chief. I got an idea where they stored the body though. It’s going to take some folks to flip that giant sand timer over.

Wiggum: Nice work, Lou. It’s gonna be hard to gather evidence in these conditions and my never-ending quest to quit tells me to call it a day. Let’s go grab some Krusty Burgers
And that’s it. Nothing else to earn, just place, tap, and move on.

Earns: Nada. Just a decoration, but i’m sure one day they’ll bring it back and charge donuts for it. At that point it’ll probably earn a small bonus %. But, until that day comes…it doesn’t earn a thing.
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
What Does It Do: Animated when tapped, sand moves and falls from top to reveal a surprise buried under the sand.

I did lol at the “probably will return in the Store for Donuts with Bonus %” – ’cause that’s exactly what EA has been doing!)
I still notice there’s no Post regarding this Event’s Craftables (is that because 1/2 the returning Craftables we can’t craft? 1/2 the new Craftables aren’t worth crafting? Both?)
I’m 2nd with regards to crossing my fingers and hoping the rest of this year offers better Events (EA deserves praise and criticism)
I have completely lost interest in the event since Thursday. I am trying to push myself to log in to keep up with the event. Pushing myself is not helping since i am not having fun with the game. At this pace i could wait for the next event or act 3. 😕

My word, I’m not usually one to complain, but this is surely the worst. Halloween update. EVER! Very dull and hugely disappointing. Fingers crossed for Act 3 and Christmas…
It doesn’t happen often but i’m behind this time. Only bought angelica this time and i’m behind about a day. Normally i have at least 4 or 5 days at spare
Once you charm Keranymon, Crawl and Lewd is there no other way to collect things other than sending them out and clearing your town? Seems a waste…

I had a question about the bad boys dragon, it said it’s available in act 2, but I haven’t found a way to get it. Any suggestions?

I actually quite like this decoration compared to the others because it is actually something out of the angelica button episode. It appears at the part when homer reads the final chapter alone, and the evil wizard has trapped angelica inside it, at that point greystash sacrifices himself to save angelica. (I happens around 12 minutes into the simpsons episode season 18 episode 8 the Haw Hawed Couple ).
I preferred Homer’s ending to the actual book’s ending in the episode like Lisa does. It would be awesome if Greystache says “Moustache Power activate!” in the game. It was also a great episode for both the A + B stories. I can’t wait for Safi’s or Wookiee’s WDTCF post on the Angelica Button stuff.
I also loved how Homer turned Harry Potter into Bobobo just for Lisa, in fact that is the reason i am not so disappointed with this event (and the reason why i want Angelica too, even since she is pretty useless after you enchant all beasts
I think tomorrow another new beast would be available to enchant for the rest of the act. I think that the main issues for this event is the crafting, there is nothing for the characters to do after all the beasts have been enchanted and there is no second prize track to this event like in other events in the year such as the Weird Al prize track in Homerpalooza, excavation site prizes in the Time Travel event, situation room during Secret Agents and Norbert’s tasks during the Destination Springfield event. On the plus side, at least I don’t have to worry about not logging in 4-5 times a day with this event.
