Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
Fall has arrived and there’s a haze over our Springfield’s, that can only mean one thing….it’s Halloween in our pocket-sized towns! This year EA’s thrown a little magic into the mix, with an Angelica Button theme invading our towns.
We’ve got beasts to battle, creatures to capture, wizards to wand wave and goblin gold to gather! Quite a few alliteration altercations huh?
Early this morning a new beast arrived for us to battle, Bully-Vern! Much like the others, this 3-headed ranging hormone will be battled, enchanted and released…all in an effort to earn more event currency. Let’s take a closer look…
First thing you’ll notice in Springfield is some dialogue start up…..
Bully-Vern: You thought three angst driven teens was bad? Try putting all those hormones into one body. Now imagine that one body is a dragon. Not fun for anyone.
And you’ll be tasked with placing the Bully-Vern’s cave to unlock him….
The cave is FREE and (like the other “lairs”) 4×4 in size. It does nothing other than to serve as a “hub” for the beast. Once you’ve captured them it will go to the cave to “Rest”.
Once placed you’ll unlock Bully-Vern…
And the Bully-Vern will complete the Treehouse of Horror XXVII Beasts Character Collection:
Like all of the other Beasts/Trolls, Bully-Vern does come with a questline. Here’s a look at it (with dialogue) now:

Dolph Head: Hey, quit bogarting the whole cave!
Jimbo Head: You’re the one scarfin’ too much of the cave!
Kearney Head: You move!
Dolph Head: No You Move! *breaths fire*
Enchant Bully-Vern- x15. Clear 15 Light Mana

Bully-Vern starts
Bully-Vern: It almost feels like home. All it needs now is three teenagers’ worth of hellish, rotten stench.
Summon Bully-Vern- 4hrs
And like all of the others, once you’ve enchanted him (which means you’ve CLEARED 15 Dark Mana to Capture and then FILLED 15 Light Mana to Enchant) you’ll be able to earn more event currency and unique decorations every 4hrs.
Same as the others, simply release Bully-Vern every 4hrs to earn 100 prize track currency and a unique decoration.

What Does It Do: Always animated, flies fly around the bowl

What Does It Do: Animated when tapped, curtain opens little show appears

Size: 2×1
What Does It Do: The Beast version of Kearney Junior is inside (Pacifier and all). When tapped he “snores”.
That’s it my friends, the details being Bully-Vern…the latest Beast to arrive in Springfield. Keep in mind if you’re close to Act 3 starting and you’ve completed the prize track but still have some Mana to clear or fill for Bully-Vern your best strategy might be to save it for the start of Act 3. That’ll give you a head start when the next act rolls around.

Anyone else’s beast task icon (I don’t know what it’s actually called) always have an exclamation point even when all your beasts are busy?

I’m getting logged out all the time, lately. Seems I need to log in and download 1443 MB of updates every single time I try to play. 🙁 Anyone else having this issue?
This usually happens when your device is low on free space.
oh dang. Maybe that’s it. I have been getting low space warnings when updating apps … even though I have 2 GB free!

Check your device for Malware (not from us). Usually, those ads are from malware prevalent on the device…
Will you be doing a post on the crafting items? I’m wondering if I should bother,with the essence sucker…
Yup
If you want to use the essense sucker for a decoration in your springfield you should craft it.
Bonuts are easier to earn with railyard.

No, not yet. Perhaps, if we’re lucky, sometime in the future. But I doubt it.

If you’re already close to Greystache… then you’ll finish Act 3 easily regardless.
Enchanting Bully Vern now means more CRAFTING currency drops over the next 6 days, and I’m mainly working on getting enough of the red walls to make a respectable sized castle area.
Well Alicia you wanted a toilet for your town. its a bit smaller then the one you wanted but at least you can have a lot of them 😛

I agree with Deborah have loads of spare stuff from the event. Was dissapointed Crawl gave out the same stuff when he was unlocked, so if Bully Verne follows suit nothing new, hope so though.
On the title screen of The Simpsons Tapped Out game. Bart’s facial expression pretty much sums up my feelings about this entire event. I’m surprised, usually EA does Halloween right. I wonder if they decide the content to use or does Matt Groening tell EA what to have? It’s Groening’s art work for each event page so maybe EA doesn’t make the choice of what they can play with?
So most stuff I dont want that I can not sell or delete. Is ea trying to over fill our storage with garbage ?

I like BV, but am resisting the urge to capture/enchant it, since I should unlock Graystache this evening without help from BV, so will save that event currency earning potential for Act III.
Yup. Save capturing and enchanting him (or them?) for a quick event currency boost in Act III. Even with relaxed play, I’m just a couple of days from Graystache, and should easily get him without needing this.
When capturing or enchanting:
Sending 2 “hunters” earns 100 / 4 hours
Sending 3 “hunters” earns 150 / 4 hours
Sending 4 “hunters” earns 200 / 4 hours
Once captured and enchanted, BV will earn 100 every 4 hours all n it’s own.
And your “hunters” will be free to work on the character that will be releas d in Act 3.
Was pleasantly surprised to find that this was free this morning was expecting it to be another overpriced premium item. Have sent 4 people to capture it but as I got greystache this morning I sent him on his first task for the quest line which earns currency but am planning on taking a break from the game for a few days now until act 3 starts (and rely on this site to tell me if there is anything I need to know) when I will complete them and the daily tasks to get a head start.
Off topic – but does anyone know if they’ll bring back all the items at the end of the event to buy if we have remorse that we didn’t get something?

I was loving the free decorations to start with but what are we to do with 20+ squashed cop cars etc, EA needs to let us delete.

Instead of deleting we should be able to move the items to another folder/icon that removes them from all the other folders/icons.

Im getting a weird bug where I can’t get to the THOH event page by directly tapping the Fairy Dust bottle button or the Creature Cage button next to the task button. I can still get to the page by clicking on Charmers Market or my ‘capture bully-vern’ task.
It fixed itself. I think it had something to do with Homer doing the beginning Treestache quests. Now that they are done, it seems to be working ok for me.

Though, he (they?) will be waiting until Act 3, as I just finished Act 2. No point in using the fairy dust gained for bonuts (especially when it takes several days to earn 10k).
