Fall has arrived and there’s a haze over our Springfield’s, that can only mean one thing….it’s Halloween in our pocket-sized towns! This year EA’s thrown a little magic into the mix, with an Angelica Button theme invading our towns. An all-new event means loads of new premium items in our stores just tempting us to drop those donuts while they’re hot!
Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Evil Shopkeeper Bundle to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding any of these evil combos to your town…
Character: Evil Shopkeeper
Bundles: Based on what you currently have in your Springfield. No items yields full bundle, 1 item yields 2 pc bundle, and all items yields Shop Keeper Only. There is no way to just get the Shop Keeper as a Stand Alone unless you have all of the other items.
House of Evil, Talking Krusty Doll and Evil Shopkeeper: 145 Donuts
Talking Krusty Doll & Evil Shopkeeper: 135 Donuts
House of Evil & Evil Shopkeeper: 145 Donuts
Evil Shopkeeper Stand-Alone: 75 Donuts

Yes, Talking Krusty Doll is an NPC. 145 donuts for Shopkeeper + House of Evil is a bit pricey IMO. As is 135 for Talking Krusty +Shopkeeper. But I do think 145 for all 3 items is a fair price. Just my 2 cents for the full bundles….

Premium:
Stand-alone version, an ok buy. Not a great buy (price), but there are worse out there. If you have the donuts and you’re looking for a character grab this one. (but I’d go with the combos (Angelica, Raymondo over this one…if you can only pick one or the other)
Freemium:
This one is hard for me to get behind for the freemium player. Bit pricey for a stand-alone
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ll likely pick him up. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Any idea if this character is available for 2023 Halloween event?
I’ll be working on the post for what’s back when my coffee kicks in, but as of now I think I’d say sadly no.

You can now get the Shopkeeper as a standalone character without the Krusty Doll and House of Evil
Wasn’t interested before but now its back for end of event i m tempted ..it would complete a character set.. do I get anything for completing it so is it worth it. I would prob need the bundle 145 donuts but did see just the shopkeeper 75 in my store!.so I’m not sure if should get jus him and then try a mystery box with leftover.. Someone help me decide!

I would pay four times the price. This is one of the most requested characters in the game. I LOVE HIM. And he’s voiced!

I’ve purchased quite a few golden scratch-r’s before, but this year I’ve become completely freemium. It’s hard to save donuts in this game especially with the mystery boxes coming out. You can get quite good deals in them. Though it may be disappointing as well, this year I got the “Freak Show” in one, then being so disappointed I bought another one and got groundskeeper Seamus, and the Cathedral, and also I got Shadow Knight worth 200 donuts. I also got sailor Kumiko and “Amerikatown?” as well as George Washington. It’s hard to spend a lot of donuts on new premium characters when you have a chance at winning high value characters for a relatively small amount of donuts in the mystery boxes (which can be a better deal a lot of the time–if you’re lucky).
However, the evil shopkeeper is my favourite one-off character. I could never get out of my mind how he says “Take this object…” so I had to spend my remaining donuts and buy him even though he doesn’t help with the event. I love that he is voiced. “That’s good.” I had the House of Evil so I got the talking Krusty doll when I bought him, which isn’t really bad, but not quite worth the donuts in my opinion. “That’s bad” Still I would say that the shopkeeper is by far the coolest character of this whole event (which is somewhat disappointing to be honest), so I don’t regret buying him. “That’s good” Anyway, I have to run and get some “Frogurt.”

EA is really bumming me out with this one. I’ve had the House of Evil since it first appeared in the game, and now it feels like I’m being screwed for having been a longtime premium player. I buy maybe 90% of the premium items, but I don’t have the Krusty doll because I’ve never seen the point, and, frankly, it creeps me out and not in a good way. So now, if I want the evil shookeeper, which I do, I have to pay way too many sprinklies for a character *and* receive an NPC that I’ve purposely avoided. Gee thanks, EA. If it weren’t for KEM farming, I wouldn’t even consider paying 135 for the evil shopkeeper and an NPC that will go straight to storage (at least as soon as I find him in my town). Since EA has made it easier over the last year or so to earn bonuts through various means, I won’t go ballistic here, but NOT COOL EA!
I’m in the same boat. 135 donuts is way too expensive for a character and an NPC I’ve never wanted. I’d gladly pay 75 for the shopkeeper by himself. Oh well. I’ll save my donuts.

I really wanted the evil shopkeeper!! REALLY REALLY! But not for no 135 donuts! That’s nuts for someone like me who already has the house of evil and has never wanted the mini Krusty NPC dealio.
I’m so sad! 😭 I can only hope he shows up stand alone in a future VAULT (Hint-hint EA if you happen upon this comment). Hopefully not in a mystery box as my running trend has been I get everything I didn’t want first and get the one item that I actually wanted last! ie: Rocker Maggie. Couldn’t get her during the event. Cost me way more to get her from the box! Yep…she came out last!
Same thing this time. Wanted the zombie trash thing and the white rabbit. (I like🐇 bunnies) Guess what 2 things are still my Halloween box now, while 4 other random things are in my town (and storage as that dome thingy is way to big)? Well I did get the Swamp monster dude, but didn’t really want him coz his animated tasks are only tied to his building. Wish he had one that matched his dialog where he “Raises his hands to say hello” (but comes off more Rawwwwrrr).
