THOH XXVII 101: Crafting Item Overview

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ah the Crafting post….where I give you the how-to and break down each and every item available to craft, so you don’t miss a thing!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last couple of years that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self-explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self-direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.

Now I know some of you still have questions so, let’s take a look…

By now everyone should know how crafting works.  But for those who don’t, Ii’ll cover the basics again.  But real quick, so I know a chunk of you won’t read what I write anyway…

Note: I apologize this is going up so late…that wasn’t my plan.  I’ve had a lot going on and just haven’t had a chance to put this together.  Tried to cover more pressing posts first (like SIBs)

And now onto the basics….

Crafting is triggered via the Charmer’s Market via the MAIN questline…Angelica Button and the Mystical Beasts Pt. 6

Tapping the market will bring you to the crafting menu.  You can also access the crafting menu via the event hub menu by clicking the trophy icon and then the crafting icon…

The Crafting Currency is Goblin Gold, they look like this:

You can earn Crafting Currency from:
-Tapping Trolls
-The Prize Track
-Neighbor’s Towns

Crafting consists of different levels.  Each level unlocks more items to craft.  You spend crafting currency to level up. And once again they’ve decided to stick with what’s worked in the most recent events, you do NOT have to choose between Leveling up and Crafting.  The Gold you spend to Craft items will count towards the Gold needed to Level up!

Similarly…you DO NOT HAVE TO CRAFT ITEMS TO LEVEL UP. You can level up by simply tapping the green button next to the level up bar.

It still takes Gold, but it prevents you from crafting a bunch of stuff you may not want in order to level up.  As some of you have been complaining…

So the choice is yours, you can level up as you craft items.  Or you can just level up without crafting items.

And as with previous events, crafting ends when the event is over.  So you have all 3 Acts to craft.  There’s no rush to get it done now, you can wait until the event is almost over to get everything your tapping heart desires…

And finally, there are 13 total crafting levels.  You’ll start at Level 1 so you’ll need to level up 12 times (to reach level 13), in order to unlock all of the craftable items.  Here’s the breakdown of how much gold is required to reach each level and unlock new items:

Level to Reach Gold Required to Reach
2 1035
3 2115
4 3015
5 4365
6 6165
7 6525
8 11385
9 11745
10 12105
11 12825
12 13,095
13 13,815

You’ll need a total of 13,815  to unlock all of the levels…

So now that we’ve gone over those basics, let’s get to why most of you are reading this post…the breakdown of each craftable item.

Let me preface this by saying, for this event most of the craftable items are decorations.  Therefore, what to craft and how many is entirely up to you…as to what you think will work best in your Springfield.  There are some great decorations that can work in a variety of ways in Springfield (depending on how you’re building your Button world) but it’s up to you to determine what works best for your town.

My Personal Opinion on Craftables…
Don’t kill yourself.  Most of this stuff is just decorations and really unimpressive.  Craft what you like/think you can use in your town…but really nothing is worth kill yourself over.

So again…don’t kill yourself trying to get all this stuff.  Sometimes less is more. Craft what you have a use for in Springfield….

Hope that helps some of you who have been stressing out over crafting!

And there you have it my friends…the details behind THOH Crafting!  Again sorry this is going up so lote…was not my original intention

What are your thoughts on crafting ?  Which items are you digging?  Which would you pass on?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Does anyone know which is the best item in terms of XP income? Thanks

  2. Same here long time player so crafting the stuff was easy finished a while ago, but crafted some more courtyard’s as they fit in nicely with my better homes and the heights.

  3. Halloween Crafting 2017

If you’re a Noob? Congrats, ’cause you get to Craft some of the better stuff from Halloween 2016 no one else can (that eliminates 1/4 of the Craftables)! 😉

Long-time Tappers can Craft last year’s Iron Walls – Gargoyle Walls – Hanging Streetlamps – Flying Bats (makes for a swell Victorian theme)! 👍

I guess if you’re going to create a Magic Academy? You’ll Craft whatever works for you (provided you’ve got room for it) and I’m fine with the Dorm Towers – Walls – Gate – Courtyard! 👍

The rest? While it’s Interactive Decor …. there’s too much Interactive Decor being offered up as Act Prizes and not enough Buildings this Halloween (huuuuge thumbs down) so that 1/4 means Long-time Tappers were saddled with 2/4 of the Craftables unavailable OR not worth Crafting)!👎

Raise your ✋ if you feel EA blew it this Halloween

  4. I’ve replenished my stock of pyres, bats and bushes already so it will be fences, fences and fences and maybe more walls for future designs.
Even though most craftables are underwhelming you can never have enough fences 😀
The medieval gate, though, would be nice again. Fits around Burns’ mansion.

  5. I dismissed academy stuff, i did craft just the necessary.
A few towers to put behind Tony’s bureau of legitimate bussiness, bonsais for cletus and wasted stuff space on spooky brambles (crafted too much of them, for 10 tree hug rating each?)
I will pack the academy as soon as the event ends. Will keep the library. And the ruins because i already designed them in a nice space.

  6. The Dormitory Tower is also animated when tapped.

  7. I finished getting everything new a while ago.. now I’m just crafting walls and fences just in case I need them for a design in the future… Still have way too much goblin gold.

  8. The age old numbers on screen and stored. What’s.a guy to do with numerous little trinkets from the 7 beasts.?

  9. I didn’t know, or didn’t remember, that the covered bridge won’t actually go over water. That was rather disappointing…

  10. One fun thing about the corridor is that you can have a street run under it. I can’t remember any items that can do that. Does anyone know of another?

  11. I started getting walls and towers and a gate thinking castle, then figured the castle walls would mean things ending up hidden or using a lot more land so a rethink, and more gargoyle and iron walls (fences really), that so far looks like this…

  12. MydadlookslikeFlanders

I’ve almost earned my last unique item (the Werewolf Flanders skin) and then am on to crafting the non-unique items for the rest of the event. I want to create a cool, spooky area around my pumpkin patch and pumpkin house 🙂 I have enjoyed the items overall, especially as a first year player. I only had the Forest Cave and wasn’t able to craft another, so I did feel that pain of not being able to craft it. I think I earned the cave during the Time Traveling Toaster event…

  13. Are the hanging streetlamps new for this event or are they from a previous event? *squinting* I can’t tell.

  14. Thanks for posting this one Alissa. A lot of work goes into these crafting posts (so many pictures…) and it is appreciated!

As for what I’ll be crafting, I’m not sure. The courtyard wasn’t what I expected, so I’ve stopped at one. I have a lot of red walls, a couple of gates, some towers, and some corridors already (and had all the previous unique items). As Ebron said, it’s good to get extras of design elements but my inventory is full of those, so I shall proceed with caution.

  15. Walls or Bats, these are the most interesting things for me at the moment. The courtyard is nice, but it’s a bit hard to fit it into the designs, because we don’t have streets which fit to this crosswalk. The corridor is really nice, but it may be interesting to some people that this item counts as 3 items when it comes to the item limit.

  16. I think the best new crafting item is the corridor since roads can go underneath it, however, the Academy items like the gate, walls and dorm tower can make a good Magic Academy Campus. I crafted the last item the Courtyard a few days ago and I’m not completely disappointed with it because it does make a great centrepiece for the campus but I sort of wish it was a little bigger 8×8 to be exact to line up with the tiles. For me, the main issue with this event’s crafting is that I would of preferred that the unique returning items (wolf rock, dark carriage, forest cave and the buildings) to become premium items to get a bonus percentage added and an increase in pay outs. P.S. you don’t need to apologise about adding this post a bit later than usual Alissa because most of the items are just decorations that are not very special, plus this post could of been flooded with a lot more comments saying how much crafting sucks in this event if it was added earlier in the event.

  17. Has anyone else tried to place the Magic Academy Courtyard on the cobblestone path?

  18. If I can give a little advice…walls, walls, walls. In previous events, the only items I could never seem to craft enough of was walls. Another event will come along and you will kick yourself for being short by 3 or 4 wall or fence pieces that would work perfectly in your new design. You cannot have too many fence or wall pieces (or towers, in this event… I am crafting at least 8). If the crafting items don’t impress you, or you are pi**ed because they are repeats, just get bunches of fencing, walls, towers and a couple gates. Maybe even a second courtyard to store away for a rainy day…you will find a use for it and congratulate yourself for being so smart👍😎.

    • Good call, was just thinking what to buy to store for later😁😀

    • Tracy-1ltwoody920

I already walled my village, placed towers and ‘gates’ , attached Montymorts battle ground and gargoyle fenced off the openings.

And now I’m ready to craft lots of fences and walls and a few towers more.

    • I agree 100%. You can never have too many walls. I have to make a conscience effort not to use too many hedge fences so I’m always looks for alternatives.
