Super Safi’s Stats & Strategy Special: Minigames – Insanity Mode!

Salutations Senors, Senoras, Senoritas, Statisticians & Strategists,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter ‘S’)

Hi, I’m Super Safi and you may remember me from such stats and strategy posts as KEM Farming and the advanced losing-to-win Superheroes battle strategy.

What better way to spend your time than talking math. So from time-to-time, I’ll come to you with a post that delves into the wonderful world of numbers, stats, and/or strategies.

While we’ve previously discussed Springfield Downs and the Go Kart Track a couple months ago, over the next few weeks, we’ll continue to look at most of the Minigames found within our game. We start our journey today with Insanity Mode!

INSANITY MODE

The Insanity Mode minigame can be played at the Insanity Cauldron every 8 hours and requires Homer to be free. A chili icon () will appear above the Insanity Cauldron when the minigame is ready to be played.

The objective of the minigame is to tap as many tortoises ()as possible in the lapse of 30 seconds. Rewards will be then given to the player depending on the amount of tortoises tapped. The standard rewards are both Cash and XP. For those who have not yet reached the cap for the Springfield Heights currency of Pharmaceuticals, they will be rewarded with Pharmaceuticals in lieu of Cash.

Cash rewarded:

= 500 + 10(t), where t is the amount of tortoises tapped.

Note: Minimum reward $500, even if 0 tortoises are tapped. Maximum reward $2,000 even if more than 150 tortoises are tapped.

XP rewarded:

= 100 + 2(t), where t is the amount of tortoises tapped.

Note: Minimum reward 100 XP, even if 0 tortoises are tapped. Maximum reward 400 XP even if more than 150 tortoises are tapped.

Additionally on each play, there is a chance to obtain a surprise bonus reward:

No surprise bonus reward 78.22%

Hieroglyph Wall

9.90%

Pumpkin Patch

6.93%

Cane Field

3.96%

Light-up Elder God

(Awards 1.00% bonus)
0.99%

The rarest of these awards is the Light-up Elder God that has a 0.99% probability of being awarded and comes with a 1.00% bonus to XP and cash when placed in your Springfield. Therefore, it is quite beneficial to continue to play the Insanity Mode routinely.

Do you play the Insanity Mode? How many tortoises do you usually tap? Have you unlocked any rare items? How many Light-up Elder Gods do you have? What stats or strategy related topic would you liked discussed? Share your thoughts. You know we love hearing from you. And be sure to come back tomorrow for Sideshow You.

Minigames:

Springfield Downs, Go Kart Tracks, Insanity Mode, Sideshow You, Rocket Launch Pad, Claw Machine, Scratch-R, The Eliminator, Bigclaw, Excavation Site, Drone Scan, Sci-Fighter, Where’s Maggie

  1. Has the game started giving out Pills for Heights currency recently?

    • No, always has. It have room for more “pills” it gives you them, then cash. Remember it is the “insanity cauldron”.

  2. I still play this regularly, because I’d really like some more sugar cane fields, but this is the only prize that eludes me. I won it maybe once or twice, whereas I constantly get more of those ugly elder gods. Even with a bonus, how many can you really use in a normal town? Now they are just cluttering up my inventory…

  3. Insanity Mode

Not worth trying for 1 Rare Item
    Especially when trying to Tap
Turtles – hard to see ’em
    Better off in Storage
(Nope, EA, you need to try harder) 🤔

    • As another poster pointed out, you don’t need to tap turtles to go for the bonus-earning item in that game. Just start it and back out. How is that not worth the literally 2-3 seconds that it takes?

    • Sure it is. You can get more than one Light up Elder God /w 1% bonus (I have 2 so far). Especially now that i know you can just start it and leave right away and still get a chance for bonus prize without having to waste time tapping turtles for small cash prize (as Safi said it’s predetermined before you start tapping turtles).

  4. Does the number of tapped tortoises matter if one would like to get the cane field?

    • Nope. Your prize is predetermined before you even start tapping tortoises.

      • Thank you. 🙂 Can you help with something different, too? I need a video or animated gif of the Department of magical Vehicles with the flying brooms (Nelson’s task). Time is running out to get it and my decision depends on how it looks like. Can you please, please help?

  5. I used to play this a lot, but don’t now.

I think my record is about 35, I usually always got about 30.

  6. Tap to play, crash! 5min cool down. Tap to play, starting… crash! 5 min cool down. Tap to play, starting… tap turtles… game very slow… crash! Restart game, you got 30+ turtles, here’s cash +xp. Every single time; got old quick. I really want more Cane Fields.

  7. Sorry but how do you get the insanity cauldron? Is it for sale using cash or donuts (i can’t find it anywhere)? Or is there a quest that has to be performed to get it? Thank you for any information.
