Should I Spend Donuts on the Returning Ghost Zapper, Wave-Arm Elder God or Ancient Ruins?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s time for a little Magical Halloween to invade Springfield!  With this all new magical event a few returning items magically returned to our stores…just asking us to drop our sprinkles.

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Ghost Zapper, Wave-Arm Elder God or Ancient Ruins to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your town…

Leaves Stores November 10th

Item: Ghost Zapper
Cost:
 60 Donuts
Earns: 2.25% Bonus on all cash and XP
Previous Post: Should I Buy
What Does It Do :
Animated when tapped, shoots electricity
My Opinion On It Now:
Still a meh.  I didn’t buy it 4 years ago, I’m not buying it now.

Leaves Stores November 13th

Item: Wavy Arm Elder God
Cost:
20 Donuts
Earns: 0.5% Bonus on all cash and XP
Previous Post: Should I Buy
My Opinion On It Now: Meh. Price point + bonus % makes this a meh.  If you like it get it, otherwise pass. (I’d pass)

Leaves Stores November 14th

Item: Ancient Ruins

55 Donuts
Earns: 2.25% Bonus on all cash and XP
Previous Post: Should I Buy

  1. I read that when it was originally available the Victorian spaceship came with Kang. Is that still the case with its return to the store, or is it just the space ship? Anyone buy it this time around?

  2. Ghost Zapper, Wave-Arm Elder God, Ancient Ruins

Out of all of these? I would be tempted to buy the Ancient Ruins, except it does absolutely nothing (not even a Character Task). Sorry EA, but you need to try harder to get my sprinkles. 👎

Victorian UFO is available in the store.
40D decoration, no bonus, no income, puffs and hovers a little bit when tapped.

    An awesome but luxurious item.
Kodos and Kang have a little quest line there and one of them a permanent task, at least so I remember.

Last chance offers for some buildings are also available.

  4. Cthulhu stuff = Instant buy.
Maybe wavy arms Cthulhu isn’t as good as Cthulhu blimp or light up Cthulhu but still an instant buy.

  5. The original description of the wavy arm elder god made me laugh. “It’s a wavy-arm thingy, what do you think it does?”

  6. I love the wavey arm elder god. I turned powell motors into a big car storage area. The god looks way cool on the lot. I had two before and i picked up a couple more. This is a great example of the worth of premium items. In this case the asthetic value far outweights the donuts/bonus xp ratio. Isnt that why we get decorations anyways? If i just wanted to increase my xp bonus i dont know how many i would get. But if i want to beautify my used car lot, two more is the amount i need to make my town awesome.

What im realy saying is if you just want to increase your bonus very few items are worth spending donuts on. If you have a purpose in mind for an item its usually worth it.

  7. I got it anyways – looks great next to the Death Mountain to give it more tesla coils.

  8. Isn’t the Ghost Zapper pointless as there are no ghosts? I’m mad that I got it. I should have looked on here before getting it.

  9. Wavy Arm Elder God has a 10 donut rebate, which puts the price point at 10 donuts. I think that might make a difference in the assessment.

  10. Is the ancient ruins unique or can I buy mutliple??

  11. Bought the Ghost Zapper out of nostalgic reasons. Back then I didn’t need it.
My police officer 👮 Eddie was in a state of permanent gooness, so I was able to get my very first glitchy free donuts. Each round of 2,000 taps on Eddie gave me 6 donuts.

  12. What do you feel is a fair XP bonus/return on donuts? I’ve been feeling that 30 donuts for 2.00 XP/cash bonus to be a good value.

    • Vault items have been pricing 2% @ 30 donuts recently, but vault items are also discounted. Normally 2% comes around 40 donuts on average with the Jet Engine Bike being a permanent (and non-unique) exception.

    • 15 per % is not bad for item you want to display. If you want to boost your % you can by mystery boxes (6 donuts) that will produce vans and billboards you can hide behind buildings at a average price of less than 9 donuts per %.

    • That means 15 dts/% (donuts per percentage bonus). I use that ratio as mark for every other purchase. For example, Ancient Ruins has a 24.44 dts/% (55 donuts / 2.25%) and I think is a bit expensive.
