Should I Spend Donuts on Coat of Foxes Krusty?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s the holiday season! Here in America we’re gearing up for Thanksgiving…the one holiday that stands between us and Christmas….so naturally, the Simpsons have to celebrate!  While I think it would have been awesome to get a confetti-shooting Homer balloon from last Sunday’s episode, this mini event is fun too!  And as always, an all-new event (of any size) means loads of new premium items in our stores just tempting us to drop those donuts while they’re hot!

Of course with that limited-time label, it can be tempting to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Coat of Foxes Krusty to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this flashy clown to your town…

Character/Costume: Coat of Foxes Krusty
Donut Cost: 50 Donuts

Leaves stores November 27th

Pros
-Premium costume for Krusty
-A couple of amusing visual tasks
-Comes with a side questline

Cons
-Just a costume for Krusty, not a new character
-No benefit for this event

Final Thought
Premium:
Meh.  It’s a costume for Krusty.  Sure he’s gone some fun tasks and he’s reasonably priced…but it’s still just a costume. Personally, i’d save my donuts for a full character combo (like Quinn and CONRAD).

Freemium:
I’d pass.  Sure he’s reasonably priced, but it’s not worth spending your donuts on costumes for an existing character (unless the deal blows your mind).  Save them for better things down the line.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player I can tell you I’ll be passing, does nothing for me.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Coat of Foxes Krusty’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Scoff at Non-Coat-Wearing Plebs 1hr $105, 26xp Brown House
Feed the Fur 4hrs $275, 70xp Outside/Visual
Be More Exotic 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual
Get Fur in Fryers 12hrs $600, 150xp Krusty Burger
Stock up on Fox Food 24hrs $1,000, 225xp Kwik-E-Mart

  1. Just nope!

This Skin is amusing, but I’ve already got 4 Skins for Krusty the Clown (and I’m saving my sprinkles for Black Friday / Sunday)! You know EA will probably bring this back at Discount!👍

  2. I bought it.

I didn’t have a premium skin for Krusty; I’m glad I didn’t buy his Tuxedo skin when it was offered for 60 donuts a couple months ago.

  3. I prefer to save for Black Friday

  4. Since Krusty is one of only four Stonecutters who can sing at the table, there’s no way I spend donuts on a skin for him.

  5. I love everything, but this was a pass for me too.

  6. I would maybe pay donuts for skins if they were 25 donuts. There are too many free ones to be obtained if you just play freemium if you play for a few months. The recent Frink wizard skin was a total rip off of donuts. Probably end up in a mystery box next year for discount.

  7. happy little gouger

I’m only doing 8 hour tasks right now. So right now the only way I see Krusty is if I use his default freemium task (which I have seen so many times over the last 5 years. Yawn)

This costume is just what I needed.

  8. May not be related BUT does anybody know anything about the Itchy and Scratchy Robots that appear in the “Robot Character Collection”? Did I miss something?

  9. Completely OT, sorry, but: did EA fix the street sweeper? Maybe I‘m imagining things, but it doesn‘t stick to the dirt roads so much any more. Anyone else noticing this as well?

  10. It’s a pass from me. I tend to keep Krusty in his tuxedo skin. It’s premium and adds a certain something to my town (ok, not really).

  11. Didn’t even consider it.. seems completely useless. I might buy skins if they had a better system of managing them.. or a lock to change the default in case the character does a job that’s incompatible with the skin.

    • In agreement and well said. I have to frequently put my skins back on due to stupid changes by quests that don’t put the skin back on for me. Thank fully the most characters with skins are in the front of my 200 and not the back so I can toggle them back on with a quick cycle through once I clear everyone out from their current jobs.

  12. True man. 100%pass. Its fun but as an own character it would be for sure much more fun than that

  13. Morrissey would be MORTIFIED. Gotta pass. Lol

  14. I’m going to put off making this decision until after I finish the event prize track/questline, since he’s busy earning event currency right now, anyway.

  15. Love this. I love getting new animations and these are great. I never use his other skins.

  16. I guess if you don’t already have a premium skin for Krusty, this might be a good deal. As noted Krusty already has several skins some of which are already premium. For me it’s a pass as i pretty much keep Krusty in his Stone Temple skin when he’s not needed for other tasks / activities.

    • LOL, Stone Temple Krusty…
Krusty in flannel headlining a grunge band in Seattle – coming soon to a Simpsons episode flashback to the 90s

  17. There are very few costumes that would make me spend donuts. Especially on a character that I already have a premium skin for. Ea needs to come up with better skin incentives for the characters that have so many. Maybe up the amount you earn on a premium skin the more skins you have. This is on the same line as why buy a premium skin for a premium character, there is no point unless you love it.

  18. Side note on skins… looks like EA realized that the Manager Cletus skin shouldn’t be premium since it was free during the Homerpalooza event.

Now it just earns regular $$/XP. 🙁
