Black Friday Breakdown…Bronze Mystery Box

Bonjour Beautiful Business-minded Bargain Box Budget Buyers & Barterers,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “B”)

With Alissa, Wookiee, and Patric busy celebrating American Thanksgiving and focused on the three F’s – Family, Food, and Football; they’ve left me in charge of the site. Big mistake! Mwah ha ha ha!

Get ready to be inundated with posts from me today and tomorrow.

As was previewed on Monday in this post here, Black Friday has arrived (albeit, a day earlier than expected) and brought with it eight Mystery Boxes. Black Friday in the US is the day after Thanksgiving and is known for it’s promotional sales (Think “Boxing Day” sales the day after Christmas for those in the Commonwealth). So today and tomorrow, I’ll take an in-depth look at each of these eight Mystery Boxes.

We start with the Bronze Mystery Box!

This is a premium box full of your chance to get those premium character/building/decorations you may have missed out on or hesitated to buy earlier for a discounted price of 20 donuts.  And…if you already have everything in the box you won’t see the box in your store. By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside…

Here’s what you can win…

Abandoned Store – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy

Banana Dictatorship – Originally free in the Gold Easter Box, Should I Buy

Blocko Store – Originally free in the Pink Easter Box, Should I Buy

Candy Kevin – Originally 40 donuts, Should I Buy

Donut Truck – Originally 40 donuts, Should I Buy (sort of), comes with 2% bonus to XP and cash

Dragon Bundle (Red Dragon, White Dragon and Yellow Dragon) – Originally 100 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 6.75% bonus to XP and cash

Duff Racer – Originally free episode tie-in decoration, No SIB as it was free, comes with 2.25% bonus to XP and cash

Fake Toll Booth – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 0.75% bonus to XP and cash

Guitar Central – Originally 50 donuts, Should I Buy

Hot Springs – Originally 45 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 2.25% bonus to XP and cash

Imaginary Bear – Originally 35 donuts, Should I Buy

Inflatable Gorilla and Baboons – Originally from the very first Christmas (2012), Should I Buy, come with 0.75% bonus to XP and cash

IRS Drone – Originally 50 donuts, Should I Buy (sort of)

Macaroni’s Shed – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy, come with 0.75% bonus to XP and cash

Mr. Sparkle – Originally 100 donuts, Should I Buy, full playable character

Old West Sign – Originally 35 donuts, Should I Buy, come with 1% bonus to XP and cash

Piece-of-Crap Car – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 0.75% bonus to XP and cash

Pokey (aka Pokey The Guinea Pig) – Originally 40 donuts, Should I Buy

Prospector – Originally 35 donuts, Should I Buy

Quick & Fresh – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy

Stunt Bike – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 0.75% bonus to XP and cash

T-Ball Stand – Originally 30 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 0.50% bonus to XP and cash

Water Show Fountain – Originally 55 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 1.55% bonus to XP and cash

Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy posts from the past so you all can see how much they originally cost and what specifically each building, character, or decoration does.

20 donuts is a bargain for most of these items (especially Mr. Sparkle and the Dragon Bundle originally 100 donuts each)…except for items that were originally free, as getting it for free is the best deal…but still 20 donuts is a fair price for most of the items at least. So my thoughts are, if you have something in there you really want…give it a try. You’ll likely get something worth it. Though, personally, I’ll be going for the Character Mystery Box first.

And that’s it my friends!  The details on the Bronze Mystery Box. Be sure to come back every few hours today and tomorrow when I go into details about the other Mystery Boxes.

What are your thoughts on the Bronze Mystery Box? Have you tried it yet? What have you won so far from the Bronze Mystery Box? What do you hope to get from this one? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Got Mr. Sparkle by first try: 3

  2. Finally got Mr. Sparkle! 120 donuts, but he makes me smile. Also had brunch with my nephew in Pasadena to meet my new Great Niece. Since we were there, drove the Rose Parade route as Michele held a single rose out the window. A few passerbys got the joke. WHAT A GREAT DAY!!!

  3. Safi, I got a drone from this box, but it wasn’t the IRS Drone. I got one that is in the Robots Character Collection. I wanted the IRS drone and didn’t even know the other Drone existed (I didn’t remember it from the SciFi event). What the heck? How is this even possible? You didn’t have it listed and I never saw it in the box. And IRS Drone is no longer showing up in my Bronze Box. Very aggravating.

After I cleared out the Character Box, I’ve been trying to get Mr. Sparkle from the Bronze Box. The only other thing I really want is Maison Derriere/Belle, but the odds in that box are not good for me (1 out of 14 with Father Sean and Ice Cream Truck/Homer as stuff I wouldn’t mind getting).

So far, I’ve gotten Fake Toll Booth, Water Show Fountain, Inflatable Gorilla/Baboons, Old West Sign, Dragon Bundle, Stunt Bike and this mystery drone. So, 140 donuts for 11.50% bonus. 12.17 donuts per 1.0%, not great but not terrible. Stupid NPCs killing me!

  4. I got IRS Drone. Meh. Of the 7 things I wanted in this box it was the least favorite one. And it’s not even what I expected it to be. I expected a drone that flies in your field of view for a moment when you visit a town.

  5. I can say if you’re a noob ? These Mystery Boxes are probably the best way for you to obtain prior Premiums ….. this Bronze is like the Penny Slots in Las Vegas – you win a little, just a little! 👍

If you’ve been playing long enough? Then your Springfield has plenty of Buildings, Decor (NPC’s stored), assorted Characters …. and you start to want certain Premiums at Discount minus the gamble. 😀

    Great write ups Safi 👏👏

  6. Was glad I finally got Pokey but was surprised the thanksgiving turkey was not available at all. I thought that was the last character I was missing but when I was looking through my sets I now see Robot Itchy and Scratchy. Did I miss something?

  7. This was my favourite box 🖒

    • Agreed. Best deals. And I lucked out in my chances. I bought 7. Got stunt bike, dragons, old west sign, guitar central, inflateable gorilla, pokey, and water show fountain. Avoided candy cane Kevin, bear, prospector, and drone.
Already had blocko, banana dictatorship, toll boith, hot springs, racer, doughnut truck, and abandoned store.
There aren’t enough good items left in the box for me to keep opening them.

  8. As a communist, there are no boxes for me but it says to keep checking back. Is something new coming?

  9. My bronze box is essentially a bunch of junk and NPCs with maybe two items I wouldn’t mind having, but I don’t want them very much. So that’s a pass for me.

  10. I will keep away from those boxes… every single one even if it is a bargain… here is why:
I settled a goal for the first ones (the ones you have to pay for without donuts) this goal was “Shapes”. I kept tapping the lower real money donut (because i had googleplay cash stuck because there were no “squeaky voice peasant” playstore cash cards) to see how many chances it would take me… these were the results:
    1.- freebie: Dark knight Bart
2.- Bandit hideout (crap… too big and does not fit in my springfield. Vanity bonus which is the worst one)
    3.- Spa
4.- Donut boat… neat but not what i wanted
    5.- Shapes Gym

Total golden tokens paid for it: 4

Now… looking at this one i would had to spent a minimum of 100 donuts for getting the hotsprings… and i may had to deal with those stupid dragons in my inventory. Too bad i had not been on other black fridays, if i was, i would be able to buy thay fat Spuckler only for a few donuts instead of tossing them out until i get lucky.
It may sound stupid, but instead i went for Gill’s deal with Duff, at least i got what i paid for.

  11. he keeps the japanese news station animated with his 8 hour job

  12. with 17 items in the box, I managed to get maggie’s bear on the 2nd try (after kevin). I feel extremely lucky. I play the boxes expecting to receive my coveted items last & I have to be prepared. I’m done with the boxes. I’d like the greenhouse, but I passed on so much of this stuff the first time around. my SFH is overrun with stuff that pays out or has a %, but that I don’t want in my town. I got the himeji castle with my token & it’s heading to SFH also. hope eveyone gets what they want!
