Black Friday Breakdown…Character Mystery Box

Bonjour Beautiful Business-minded Bargain Box Budget Buyers & Barterers,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “B”)

While yesterday Americans gave thanks and focused on the three F’s – Family, Food, and Football; today is Black Friday. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is known for it’s promotional sales (Think “Boxing Day” sales the day after Christmas for those in the Commonwealth).

As was previewed on Monday in this post here, Black Friday has arrived and brought with it eight Mystery Boxes. So today we’ll take an in-depth look at each of these eight Mystery Boxes.

We continue with the Character Mystery Box!

This is a premium box full of your chance to get those premium character/building/decorations you may have missed out on or hesitated to buy earlier for a discounted price of 80 donuts.  And…if you already have everything in the box you won’t see the box in your store. By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside…

Here’s what you can win…

Brandine – Originally 100 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

ESBN Sports Desk with Anger Watkins – Originally 110 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 3% bonus on all XP and cash, Full playable character

Ginger Flanders and Amber Simpson – Originally 115 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable characters (two distinct characters)

Italian Villa with Francesca Terwilligers – Originally 150 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Jimbo – Originally 120 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Krustylu Studios with Sideshow Mel – Originally 140 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Ling Bouvier – Originally 110 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Motherloving Sugar Co. with Diabetty – Originally 225 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Powell Motors with Herb Powell – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Rocket Car with Lampwick – Originally 120 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 2% bonus on all XP and cash, Full playable character

Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers with Lucille Botzcowski – Originally 120 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Shary Bobbins – Originally free in Easter gold box, returned for 125 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Shauna – Originally 90 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Sleep-Eazy Motel with Miss Springfield – Originally 225 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Sophie Krustofsky – Originally 110 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Springfield Coliseum with Drederick Tatum – Originally part of the Whacking Day 2013 prize track, returned for 190 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

The Wiccans – Originally 110 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable character

Unfinished Shed with Chester Dupree – Originally 150 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 2.25% bonus on all XP and cash, Full playable character

Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy posts from the past so you all can see how much they originally cost and what specifically each building, character, or decoration does.

80 donuts is a bargain for most of these items…except for items that were originally free, as getting it for free is the best deal…but still 80 donuts is a fair price for most of the items at least. So my thoughts are, if you have something in there you really want…give it a try. You’ll likely get something worth it. I will personally buy all the Character Mystery Boxes available to me first, as 80 dounts is a great deal for a premium character in my opinion.

And that’s it my friends!  The details on the Character Mystery Box. Be sure to come back every few hours when I go into details about the other Mystery Boxes.

What are your thoughts on the Character Mystery Box? Have you tried it yet? What have you won so far from the Character Mystery Box? What do you hope to get from this one? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. does anyone know why chester dupree does not appear in the tasks:
-Make Chester Throw an Entitled Tizzy
-Make Chester Open the Bloodmobile for Business

All is different, or it was only for a limited time?

  2. The only box I spent donuts on. I got Herb (yay!), Ling (ok!), Anger Whatshisname (boo! Although I guess the bonus is useful), and Shauna (cool!).

I really don’t know whether to try again. I’d love to get Jimbo, but I suspect I used up all my good luck getting Herb first, and I’ll get stuck with Dia-Betty or the Vegas wives (hate them, hate their episodes).

  3. I had three (four?) characters in this box that I didn’t already have…unfortunately, to get the two I wanted, I ended up with Lucille, who I emphatically did not want in my game or even my inventory (she gives me the creeps). But I’m ultimately okay with that, since the deals were so incredibly awesome for the others! Hopefully, when the Christmas update comes, Lucille will no longer be in the “front” of my inventory. Just wish I could sell her back, even for a partial refund, though.

  4. I gained Jimbo, Drederick Tatum, Lucille Botzcowski and Lucius Sweet, who is the only one I was annoyed with as he was the first character I ever missed from a prize track due to getting the casino update too late to complete all of act 1.
I also gained Mr Sparkle though from the single 20 donut box purchase I made so all round a good black Friday deal for me!

  5. Spent most of my donuts on this box…only have Italian villa, ginger and Amber and Lucius left.very happy to get jimbo and Brandine along with character combos. g

  6. These boxes are torture — I’m resisting the urge to blow through all my donuts on this box and also resisting paying real money for donuts (never have because I’m afraid once I do it once, I’ll do it again). I did do one try at this box and got Dedrick Tatum, which I wasn’t too excited about until TIGER.
