Black Friday Breakdown…Gold Mystery Box

Bonjour Beautiful Business-minded Bargain Box Budget Buyers & Barterers,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “B”)

While yesterday Americans gave thanks and focused on the three F’s – Family, Food, and Football; today is Black Friday. Black Friday is the day after Thanksgiving and is known for it’s promotional sales (Think “Boxing Day” sales the day after Christmas for those in the Commonwealth).

As was previewed on Monday in this post here, Black Friday has arrived and brought with it eight Mystery Boxes. So today we’ll take an in-depth look at each of these eight Mystery Boxes.

We conclude with the Gold Mystery Box!

This is a premium box full of your chance to get those premium character/building/decorations you may have missed out on or hesitated to buy earlier for a price of 1  token.  And…if you already have everything in the box you won’t see the box in your store.

Unlike other Mystery Boxes, this one is purchased with tokens. Everyone is given one free initial token. After this, in order to purchase additional tokens, one must spend real life cash.

By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside…

Here’s what you can win…

Bandit Fort – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy

Donut Boat – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 5% bonus on all XP and Cash

Health Spa – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy, rewards 2.5 million REV

Himeji Castle – Originally 180 donuts, Should I Buy

Mansion of Solid Gold – Originally 250 donuts, Should I buy

Mars Colony – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy

Nerd Bundle (Doug, Benjamin and Gary) – Originally 195 donuts, Should I Buy, Full playable characters (three distinct characters)

Polo Field House – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy, rewards 2.5 million REV

Radish Station – Originally 200 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 5% bonus on all XP and cash

Shadow Knight’s Throne with Shadow Knight – Originally 225 donuts, Should I Buy, comes with 2.75% bonus on all XP and cash, Premium skin for Bart

Shapes Gym with Muscular Marge – Originally 175 donuts, Should I Buy, Premium skin for Marge

Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy posts from the past so you all can see how much they originally cost and what specifically each building, character, or decoration does.

1  token is a bargain for most of these items…except for items that were originally free, as getting it for free is the best deal…but still 1  token is a fair price for most of the items at least. So my thoughts are, if you have something in there you really want…give it a try. You’ll likely get something worth it. I will personally buy all the Character Mystery Boxes available to me first, as 80 dounts is a great deal for a premium character in my opinion.

And that’s it my friends!  The details on the Gold Mystery Box. Be sure to come back tomorrow when I go into details about the Cyber Monday Mystery Box.

What are your thoughts on the Gold Mystery Box? Have you tried it yet? What did you get from your free go at it? Did you spend any real life money for more tokens? If so, what have you won so far from the additional Gold Mystery Box(es)? What do you hope to get from this one? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I had complained about my game being frozen on the Gold Box screen, and getting no help from EA. Today I went ahead and spent the rest of my tokens, and lo and behold, that fixed the problem. I wish the EA people could have told me that 5 days ago. I bought quite a few items I liked from the boxes and a few I did not care about, but they were all a bargain, which makes it worthwhile.
