I’m really looking forward to Christmas this year. I couldn’t play last year, glad I missed it by the sounds of it. I quite like the mystery boxes although I haven’t got the things I wanted yet but such is life. Hurry up and arrive Christmas!

I agree with you Alissa last years Christmas event removed all the family and happiness of being together. The event was terrible. I also agree with Patric bury the thought of the event, why cry about something that happened a year ago. After all the game is written to please ALL people without singling out anyone and their beliefs. Its in the past let it go, you cannot change the past, put it to rest. This years Christmas event looks promising so far, so just look forward to something special. Not everyone will like it and some will love it. Take it as it comes and try to make the best of it. I’m also Catholic and didn’t care for last years event but I never let it stop me from persevering through, hoping it would get better. Maybe this year will be the best event yet. Just started watching a bit late. Welcome to CowTown COG!! I’ve been super busy with remodeling my house, had quite a flood a couple months back. Starting to have a bit of free time on my hands now so 2 questions for ya Pat. Did you bring your clubs with you and would you like to tee off with us tomorrow at 7:40??
Sorry… no clubs. We are here for my daughter and future don in law’s wedding shower. Currently at their cabin in Forest Hill.

I was hoping EA would give us a daily advent calendar. Never mind Disney Kingdoms have hive us one. It’s lovely. Something to look forward to everyday until the Winter event hits. Love my Kingdom..💜X

i just wanted a tree to decorate with a daily advent gift of a tiny character to hang on it. Maybe next year 😀
I’d like anything snow related; snow forts, snow fights, sledding, etc. I’m not too concerned about Xmas stuff since there’s already plenty of past content. And not to burst anybody’s Xmas bubble, but decorating a dying tree was from Roman Catholics adopting a Pagan tradition to ease religious conversion. And the image of Santa was created by Coca-cola in the 1950’s.

The remark was “image,” not concept, and although it didn’t necessarily start with Coca-Cola, the red-suited jolly guy concept is actually only a little over a 100 years old – started around the early 1900s, and yeah, Christmas was absolutely placed smack on top of a Pagan celebration, and ended up merging the traditions of multiple different types of celebrations…

Just standing up for my fellow tapper’s point that, while the pagan Christmas was, not surprisingly, not well recieved by many, it was, technically speaking, more traditional than Santa and stockings.
WAY too traditional for most to enjoy… like fruitcake.

What about those players who have yet to have a Xmas event ? Why should they not have a chance to get yultide stuff ?
Over in Quahog years ago we could leave gifts for neighbours, and it was great fun. If bring that it would encourage me to possibly visit my neighbours again, but then the time it takes to connect to neighbours towns would probably see my interest in playing Santa short lived.
We were able to give gifts to neighbors in Tapped Out for Christmas, I believe in 2013 or 2014.
I also play Township, where giving products to your friends is one of the key reasons that I play it.
Maybe we’ll find out the true origin of Christmas is alien. That would explain how Santa can travel the world faster than the speed of light. And why Rudolph can light up his nose on foggy nights. It might also explain some gifts I’ve had in the past, they were definitely out of the world weird 😀

The only thing that EA has to include to make a great event for me is to keep the idea of “heart” in the writing. Great animation and fun prizes are a bonus, but without “heart”, it isn’t really true to the Simpsons universe.
They could “ruin” Christmas by allowing people to dump their inventory of things they don’t want and cannot sell into other peoples town.
