There’s nothing quite as beautiful as Springfield in the snow, is there? Yes, it’s finally winter in Springfield as the 2017 Christmas Event dropped in our towns late yesterday afternoon!
For Act 1 of Christmas, you’re tasked with working your way through the introduction of the initial Alien invasion…as Kang plots to take over the world!
As was mentioned on the run down post Act 1 of Christmas runs until December 19th (when Act 2 will start), and you’ll need Kang and Kodos to get things started
Don’t forget the Questline will help you get some bonus prize currency…so make sure you complete it to earn that extra currency…also the questline is there to guide you. Make sure you complete the main questline in order to unlock things like neighbor actions, crafting and more.

Tap robo funzos in a friend’s town.
I already directed to another Springfield so full of robo-funzos but I couldn’t tap them. Any idea why? Thanks!
I’m stuck at the pt. 9 because I was changing phones and now it wants me to finish something I already finished (which is obtaining and placing the Rigellian construction site) I tried to turn the app off and put it back in my storage and taking it back out..but nothing is working..does anyone know what should I do..or should I just try contacting the support centre

Will there not be characters earning event currency? Characters with tasks to earn is always a winner. It’s really hard to earn for this event so far. Am I missing something?
Nice to have Kodos now as I missed him in the initial game, so long ago. But I hope I get the chance to acquire his crashed space ship to give him a 24 hour task.
For me 8, 12 & 24 hours are the most important tasks & I feel somewhat miffed when characters don’t have them ….. like the Chinese Shopkeeper who doesn’t have a 12 hour task.

This is a bit off topic but I am curious to know if this Christmas version of the game has different push notification sounds than what Homer says. I heard something very unusual talking through my phone this morning. Almost robotic. I am thinking the robo-funzos? Anyone else hear new notifications from the game since this Christmas update?
the Robo-Funzos are very robotic sounding…and you may have had a cached sound on your device. It happens to me once in a while. “I see you” could be pretty unsettling if you didn’t know where it was coming from!
Yeah, I just moved into a house… I’m here alone and somewhere around 1am I hear “I see you…”

Does anyone else not have the Christmas update yet? Our family all play on Kindle Fires, but no automatic update yet and still no update in the store.😭😭😭😭 My niece has had it almost 2 days on her phone and is almost finished with 3rd prize.
Did you try uninstalling it and reinstalling it? That should force the update

Is anyone game stuck on Part 9 – The Invasion is Snow Joke?
All the events are marked as “Done!” except the “Place Rigellian Construction Site”. The building is built, but the game doesn’t register that the building has been placed.
The side quest “Time to Toy Around” is working though.
Did you build the Toy Shop or the second to last prize (before Kodos Claus)? Construction site is the 6th prize on the prize track
You’ve gotten to the construction site on the prize track already? How did you do that so quickly?!?
Or are you confusing the toy workshop or Jesus’ carpentry shop for the construction site?
I’m stuck at stage 6. Am supposed to place the Jesus Carpentry shop but I can’t find it anywhere. Clicking on the outstanding item leads me to the shop to buy stuff.
Anyone has any idea?
It’s a build, not a ‘place’, so it doesn’t automatically appear. Did you already start building it? Mine did something similar. I ‘placed’ it to start the building process (6 second build) and went on to Tap Funzos, but then every time I tried to click ‘place Jesus carpentry shop’ from the task list to go back to the building site, it took me to the store instead. I just backed out of the task bar and scrolled until I found where I’d set it to be built, clicked on it, and was able to move on.
I am really loving this update because of the many things is has to offer including: freemium mystery box that offers Ice tiles (reminds me of the mystery box from the Around the World event), ok craftables but much better than this year’s Halloween ones with more new items (always wanted another chance to get more of the nutcrackers), no 4 hour cycle so I can log on as often as I want to, more Free Land Tokens (still got a lot of land to buy from previous events), the Bazaar has great deals on returning items, update is 4 weeks instead of the usual 5-6 weeks and only two acts like last year, and I can finally make new Christmas areas and a larger Rigel 7 design with the new items. 🎄 😀 🎄
Definitely nice that the “4 hr grind” is gone…nice, also, that all the Simpson characters aren’t sent off for 6 weeks with never-ending tasks (that you never see). I like having Homer flying Santa’s sleigh and the others singing carols for the holidays😁. Good Job EA! 👍
I plan on sending Santa Homer on the Sleigh on Christmas Eve, what characters are the Carollers? I like there is no 4hr grind because I have not been logging in frequently but now I am behind on the calendar.
Why wasn’t winter clothing included with the snow? The characters look silly walking around without coats.
So far I like this event. I like the find funzo button at the top right of the screen. I wish I had that button in neighbor towns too. These funzos are teeny tiny. I like that this only two acts long. I think EA is finally listening to us. I’m a little confused about the event currency. I bought the elf Bart and elf Lisa costumes because it said that they earn event currency. But they don’t earn any event currency so far. I have the two of them doing their quests. Maybe something will change when I complete all of the quest tasks? The crafting is ho hum (as usual). I like having snow back in my Springfield. It’s nice to look at.
So for all of you who expect to hear me complain…..not this time. 😎
Same here with elf Bart and Lisa. I’m disappointed they are not earning right away.
Anyone having trouble with the North Pole station?iv replaces one of my other stations with it yet it does not work,just comes up “add 7 sections to this station for it to work”…stupid me bout the add ins in the store before placing it😞…thoughts on this update is love the snow,not to sure about not getting to send people on jobs for event currency,now I have to wait days for the construction site,won’t be spending loads of 🍩s on the items just to use for a few week,also disconnects a lot 😤
There’s glitch. You have to offset the North Pole station by one square from the tracks. It will look funny, but it’s a good temporary fix until EA fixes the glitch.

Is anybody else having trouble clearing the “Check out the holiday Scratch-R” task? I takes me to the Kwik-E-Mart and I tap on it, but the task doesn’t clear.

You have to earn the other prizes before it first. It will probably take a few days of playing.

Nothing new was added
During other holiday events, we could send some character to acquire the holiday currency. I don’t see any of that for this. Are we really only supposed to collect currency by visiting friend’s towns or destroying loose funzos?
Totally agree! I feel like I’m missing something here…aside from the quests, there’s NO character tasks for the events?

Update looking OK but already at place construction site so nothing more to be done, brought Bart and Lisa’s elf costume as stated would help with event currency? No it does not. Clicking funzos in own town is easy but a nightmare in neighbors towns, if anyone has hints for this would be appreciated as they are small and difficult to find also in some neighbours towns could not find any.
Are you getting event currency in neighbors towns?
So far, none for me. And in light of the wunnerful heads-up provided by the Addicts, I even let my clock run a full 24 w/out visits so I’d be ready! The blurb at the top says “tap funzos to help your neighbors,” so I was thinking maybe it’s like past events where neighbors benefit more than visitors, which would be totally sweet and in the spirit of the season, but no way to tell…maybe it’s a secret Santa-type thing! 🎅🏽🤶🏽😉
Yes, but you have to gain the ability thru the event quest…after part 5, I think. You will have a task to “destroy funzos in neighbor towns” which opens up the event currency for neighbor visits (1 battery awarded per funzo tapped…max is 30 funzos per 24 hrs, same as other events).
It may be 15 neighbors, rather than 10…will check on next visit.
The files say 30 actions…total. Haven’t checked, because they only pay out 1 battery for a ton of hunting and pecking.

So it comes with other Regalians? I’m assuming they just stay with the manger at all times?
Comes with a full playable new Rigellian character (J. Rigelian Christ) and the other 2 are just part of the scene.
The new character has a quest line and moves around town.
Overall the fact that event currency is only earned by tapping funzos, daily challenges, neighbours and the cannon is kinda a let down.
Previously older items and characters from previous Xmas updates would earn event currency. I’d love to see that return. Rewards the players who have been playing since the beginning.

Check again, you do earn some but it’s only on the first few neighbors. I haven’t counted yet but it’s probably 10. And you only get 1 currency per tap. Every event it seems like you earn less and less from neighbors. It’s like, why bother for 30 measly currency? I miss being able to help each other on the events too!
I’m thinking about buying the Bart and Lisa elf skins, because they’re so stinking adorable! It says they earn event currency, but does anyone know how? So far I’m not seeing a way for characters to earn event currency.

Yeah, that’s what I’m gahering from going through everyone’s comments. That kind of stinks because if that’s the case they should have waited until act 2 to put them in the store. It’s a bit misleading.
Grrr… updated on my Android phone, NOT on my iPad. It want-want-wants to, goes to App Store, which says OPEN rather than UPDATE. The version number is new, the pictures are new (in the App Store) but clicking OPEN just takes me to the un-updated game. And the want-want-want cycle resumes. Sigh. (I’ve done the hard-boot-the-iPad bit, as well as going to Friends with newer content.) I guess if I’m not willing to delete/reinstall I’ll just have to stick with the phone app until the iOS version magically updates.

I’ve been tapping like crazy for this event. I noticed it yesterday evening and got started right away. Been tapping robo funzos since I woke up today too.. it’s so fun. I See You! Lol
I really like the way they’ve been using a series of 6-second tasks to kick off events for the past year or so…it used to take much longer to get everything roiling and, if you were unlucky enough to get the event update just before bedtime, you couldn’t do anything until the morning, when you’d have the time for longer tasks (unless you were rich enough to afford to speed things along with donuts).
I know this is nothing new at this point, but I just wanted to mention how much I appreciate that approach!

Yeah, I’m already on part 9 of the quest. I was part of the unlucky group to get the update before bedtime so I had a quick look at then went to bed. I did wake up and start everything for the event quickly, the only thing that would of took the longest amount of time is Lisa task for part 7.
