Should I Spend Donuts on the Rigellian North Pole?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

There’s nothing quite as beautiful as Springfield in the snow, is there? Yes, there’s no denying that it’s officially Winter in our pocket-sized towns as the 2017 Holiday Event blew into our towns with a major cold front!  Of course, while the town is frosty cold the store is hot, hot, hot…and loaded with new premium items just tempting us to spend our sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Rigellian North Pole to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this deceptive village to your town…

Full Disclosure:  You guys know how much I love this time of the year & this event is loaded with really good content, I do intend to purchase every single NEW premium item available.  So I’ll do my best to provide an impartial view…but odds are it’ll be a little biased because I think the content for this event is phenomenal.

Building/Decoration: Rigellian North Pole

Pros
-Comes with some funny dialogue/quest
-Nice looking building for a Christmas area, or a Rigellian area
-Pays out event currency

Cons
-The payout isn’t the greatest if you’re getting it for event currency, only 10/8hrs means you’ll only yield 30/day if you tap 3/day.
-Not animated
-No permanent task there
-Large footprint

Final Thought
Premium:
You already know from the above disclaimer that I bought it.  I do like it, but not for the practical reasons.  I really like the design and feel of it & I think it’ll go well my little Rigellian area I’m planning on expanding with this event.   So premium players, if you like it and think you can fit it into your design, grab it.

Freemium:
Pass.  Too expensive, too big & doesn’t do enough to justify either.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I already told you, I picked it up.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now). Also, this is one of those items that help with the event (even if it’s a small help), so if you’re thinking about getting it do it sooner rather than later so it can add the most benefit for your town.

Here’s a look at the dialogue it comes with…

Let’s Take a Pole: North or South?
Kodos starts

Kodos: Kang, I have finally finished a North Pole for you to play Santa in.  There are many sappy human movies that imply this place is a source of “magic”
Kang: And it is true!  I can feel it in my bones!  Well, not bones, more like our series of fluid-filled sacs, but you get the idea!  Thank you Kodos!
Kodos: Well, go ahead!  Try it out!
Make Kodos Enjoy the North Pole- 4hrs, Earns $260, 70xp

What are your thoughts on the Rigellian North Pole?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I like the Dr. Seuss-like trees. I bought it.

  2. I bought it but I wish EA would have made a permanent task for Kang or Kodos there.

  3. I bought this, but I agree that its event currency payout is rather anemic.

One question (a bit off topic)….any idea what will happen to the ice tiles once Springfield’s “winter” is over? I don’t want to invest in a ton of designing, only to have it fall apart once this event is over!

    • my guess would be that it will be permanent, since you can place certain buildings and decorations on them. but like i said it is just a guess.

  4. Have they released Jesus or Santa in game yet ? I don’t have any characters available in my store

  5. Rigellian North Pole.

Sorry EA, but that payout should be like 20 every 4 hours for me to spend sprinkles (looks cool, but it’s still a “nope” for me) 😱

  6. Got it. Added to my new Christmas area.

  7. Crazy Religious Person #9

199 donuts for Jesus but Santa is free? Sacrilege

  8. Do the trees look like something off Dr seuss?

  9. Has there been changes on the bonus % things give? i think my multiplier has changed

    • The only old item that gives a bonus % with this update is the Christmas Float with 0.50% and the Holiday Tree(s) now give a 0.75% bonus instead of 0.65% or increased by 0.10% with the Event’s update.

  10. No practicality at all here…got it all and love my Rigellian Christmas area! ❄️🌺🎄💐🌲🌸❄️

  11. I was going to buy this, but I’m mostly freemium, so I will probably pass on it. Thanks for the info.

  12. I bought it. On a side note…..I’m constantly tweaking the look of my town, and I like to group things (like other people do too). I have a Rigellian part of town from a previous event, and I have a Christmas part of town. This event has both. The problem is that my Rigellian part of town and my Christmas part of town aren’t next to each other. If I want this new content to fit in properly I will have to do some major moving around. The new stuff would be act as a perfect transition from the Rigellian stuff to Thebes Christmas stuff. This may be a long term project.

    • I think once the snow is gone the Rigellian stuff will fit by itself in a Rigellian area, that’s my plan for it.

      • It’s funny you should mention this. I went back to my town and re-evaluated and decided that this Rigellian Christmas stuff is more ‘Rigellian’ than ‘christmas’ in nature. So I moved my old Rigellian stuff next to the new Rigellian stuff, and filled in the hole where the old Rigellian stuff was with houses (of all things). I haven’t bought houses in a couple of years. It’s weird doing it now. 🧐

  13. Off topic..sorry…but I’m not sure what to do with the ice rewards. Suggestions?

  14. I bought it. I love how it fits in my Christmas area. I’m really digging this Christmas event. I see being donut poor in my future. Love the new content.

  15. I bought this straight away; it looks great and fits in really well with my Christmas area which is open all year round!

  16. A tip for anyone who dosnt know, download the google reward app, here you get paid for doing surveys, not very much however but you can accumulate the money then buy scratch off tickets at kwik e mart

  17. Great design , was a must buy for my springfield.

  18. Does anyone know of the nativity includes a full character?

  19. I too bought it to make a Rigellian area. I actually love the design. It is a bit expensive, but one of those items I felt was worth it for my build.

  20. Picked it up as well as the skin for the rigellian (sp) queen as they were all next to my Xmas area anyway Placed the Xmas ship there as well blended in nicely despite the lackluster practical benefit
