Christmas 2017 Prize Guide: Act 1, Prize 5 Worker Elves

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Snow is falling in Springfield!  It’s finally Christmas time…but Kodos and Kang have their own ideas!  Ticked off that they were left out of the Halloween update, our two favorite Rigellians have decided to invade Christmas!

This Event is broken up into 2 Acts, with each Acts containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act.  Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the first act, you’re tasked with collecting Batteries () to unlock each prize!

The fifth Act 1 Prize awarded at 10,900 is Worker Elves, because it wouldn’t be Christmas without overworked guys with pointy ears…

So let’s take a closer look at this fifth prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 10,900  you’ll automatically be awarded the Elves and you’ll see this message popup:

Once placed in Springfield you’ll see their unlock message appear (the elves are a 2 for 1 deal…like Sheri and Teri, only they don’t earn at a premium rate. Nor do they earn double):

And they’re part of the Winter 2017 character collection:

Once in your Springfield the Elves do come with their own questline.  Here’s a look at that questline now…

Unbeli-Elf-Able Working Conditions Pt. 1
Elves start

Elf 1: Oh, great. Soooo glad we are in this miserable little town instead of the North Pole.
Elf 2: Does this count as overtime? Because I’ve already put in way more than my time this season.
Elf 1:  Nobodies like you don’t get overtime. Brace your elf; Christmas is coming.
Elf 2: You just lowered my elf-esteem.
Make the Worker Elves Toil Long Hours- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

Unbeli-Elf-Able Working Conditions Pt. 2
Elves start

Santa: Worker elves, what’s with the sad faces?  You’re making toys that bring joy to girls and boys. Even without the rhyming, that’s pretty good.
Elf 1: Santa’s right! Let’s sing hip-hooray and work all night and day.
Santa: And Saturday and Sunday. And the next weekend, that would be great. And the next. Don’t stop singing now.
Make the Worker Elves Happily Make Toys- 4hrs, Earns $175, 45xp

And here’s a look at their tasks…

Worker Elves’ Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Hide From Santa 1hr $70, 17xp Brown House
Happily Make Toys 4hrs $175, 45xp Outside/Visual
Take a Much Needed Break 8hrs $275, 70xp Outside/Visual
Clean Reindeer Stables 12hrs $420, 100xp Brown House
Drink Too Much Egg-Nog 24hrs $600, 150xp Brown House

And there you have it, the details behind the Worker Elves, the fifth Christmas 2017 prize!

What’s Next?

Rigellian Construction Site- Awarded at 13,400. This will be the next prize we break down in the prize guidepost.

  1. We got Worker Elves …. they kinda remind me of the Orphan Twins (boy, girl) … thank you for no NPC’s , EA 👍

  2. I like the Worker Elves because they are two more kids from Springfield Elementary (Lewis Clark and Jaffee) but in Elf form and are two pairs of characters with great visual tasks (shame they don’t earn double of a freemium character). The only disappointment about them is all their indoor tasks are at the Brown House like others have stated. 🧝🎄🧝‍♀️

I like the elves, & am happy they have at least 2 visual tasks even if the rest are all in the BH

  4. Egg nog task should have the option for them to hit the Egg Nog Bar. Missed opportunity, EA!

I like these guys outdoors tasks and their dialog was funny. I was super disappointed they do ll their indoors tasks at the brown house. I think these guys would have been perfect for the type of characters that will go to one of several buildings if they are available, instead of just going right to the Brown house. Feels a little lazy to me.

I an enjoying them and the event overall, certainly one of the better ones out of the last several.

Thanks for all the great updates.

    • I agree with you about the Elves having all of their inside tasks at the Brown House (BH), their 24h task should of easily been at the Egg Nog Bar instead. I feel the same way about Gabbo and Arthur with all their inside tasks at the BH. It could be something similar could happen because in the Homerpalooza event which Nick Delacourt had all his inside tasks at the BH before unlocking Peter D’Abbruzio and the Sungazer Studio (SS) when all of Nick’s inside tasks were moved to the SS instead. In this case I think there is a specific type of stables appearing later on in the event so if EA are kind enough they could move the Elves 12h task to these future stables instead.

    • I think so many tasks end up at the Brown house because beginners will only have that property. Lots of folks don’t have the Eggnog Bar, so putting a task there is currently unlikely for a character that doesn’t come with it. Although, it is for sale now, so that would encourage players to pick it up (if that was their only access to the task). If EA was smart, they would assign tasks for new characters to obscure previously released buildings (Egg Nog Bar), then throw that building in the vault to encourage newer players to buy it.

      • sometimes they code a building to go multiple places & if the player doesn’t have the building it goes to the next on the list. So it could have been Egg Nog, then Brown House. EA did miss the boat on a bunch of building animations/task assignments for this event. Hoping it gets fixed.

      • On the outset, though, they’ve occasionally made tasks such that, if the person owns a certain premium or higher-level building, it takes place there, but, if not, it takes place somewhere that lower-level players all have, like a brown house. I think they should do that more often.

  6. Sorry for the off topic comment, but I didn’t see a relevant post and this thread will get the most eyes. Is anyone else having problems with repeated updates for the entire game? If it’s just me, I would sure appreciate suggestions on a fix. I’m not always on wifi and 1800 MB is a lot to ask of a data plan three times a week.

    • Mine’s been “updating” every time I start the game. And I’m talking full-on update. Not just minor updates. “Sign-in and verify age” types. Kind of annoying.

    • When that happens, it’s usually a sign that your device is ruining short on space. (TSTO is a real space hog.) Try moving a bunch of photos and stuff off of your device, and also doing a complete uninstall/reinstall of TSTO. That should help.

(Side note…. A *lot* of people have been having this issue during this update. I think that happened almost every winter event, because I think the whole snow thing makes the game even larger than usual.)

  7. Anyone know what happens with the Mystery Box after Act 1? Went through the whole box and then it started over with the same stuff (ice, land, Xmas hills). Is it just going to repeat through the whole event? Or should I just start saving the wrapping paper for Act 2?

    • I believe that there are some new items in Act 2, and more ice, and ice, and ice.

Which begs the question – what can you do with all of this ice?

    • Not me. I want that free land!!! Worth millions in the future land releases!!!

    • It will refill only one time during Act 1. When finished a second time you’ll be rewarded with additional crafting currency for playing the mini game.

Act 2 has slightly different items in it. Unfortunately I don’t know if the box will only refill once in Act 2, too.

  8. the robo/funso tapping has given me carpal tunnel

  9. Cute outdoor tasks!

off topic… will Mickey Mouse be a playable character in Springfield? or a NPC???

  11. I am disappointed that the elves don’t earn the double amount of cash.
