There’s nothing quite as beautiful as Springfield in the snow, is there? Yes, there’s no denying that it’s officially Winter in our pocket-sized towns as the 2017 Holiday Event blew into our towns with a major cold front! Of course, while the town is frosty cold the store is hot, hot, hot…and loaded with new premium items just tempting us to spend our sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Chinese Restaurant to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this holiday favorite to your town…
Full Disclosure: You guys know how much I love this time of the year & this event is loaded with really good content, I do intend to purchase every single NEW premium item available. So I’ll do my best to provide an impartial view…but odds are it’ll be a little biased because I think the content for this event is phenomenal.

Pros
-A building folks have been requesting for a while
-Fits nicely with the Chinese New Year Event Stuff
-Footprint is relatively decent
Cons
-Once questline is done no additional tasks there
-Pricey for what it is/does
Final Thought
Premium:
A little pricey for a stand-alone building, without any permanent tasks. But I still like it & would recommend it. It’s about time Springfielders had access to some Moo Goo Gai Pan!
Freemium:
I’d pass. At least for now. It’s really hard to justify spending 65 freemium donuts on something that doesn’t have a permanent character task. Therefore it won’t be animated reguarly. So freemium players, I’d pass.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I already told you, I picked it up. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Chinese Restaurant – I’m passing on it as I have enough Asian Restaurants (two came with Characters), but don’t pass on it if you’re a Noob who needs more Buildings in your Springfield 😉

No, not now. Tomorrow I’ll buy the Act II characters for 280D, then 3 days of farming-no-buy. Some Rigellian Huts perhaps for the Santaliens 🎅👽 finally deserve their own area. Close behind the public Christmas 🎄 theme park *hehe*

Favourite dish?
For me, we have a Hakka Chinese chain called “China Palace” that makes the best Crispy Ginger Beef!
Lately been on a “Singapore Chow Mein Fun” binge…a spicy ramen type stir fry with shrimp and vegies.
If you do ever come to Singapore (I’m Singaporean), and order this dish, you’ll realize it’s going to be very different from the version you’ve been having so far 😁

That holds true for a lot of restaurants – the food is always some local variant. Be it Singaporean, or Chinese, or even Italian. You’d be surprised what goes for Italian food in Italy… 😉
Howdy TSTO!I had a question..there had been an elf showing up on my Springfield. He stood around in a random place everytime. At first I thought he was one of the elves that are unlocked in the prize track but he wasn’t. I finally tapped him and he did an animation were it looked like he wipped some sweat off, removed his hat an disappeared. That was today and I haven’t seen him since. Is that a secret prize character or something? I don’t know if you have heard of this or seen him. If I see him again, I will send a picture though.Thanks!
