Yes, there’s no denying that it’s officially Winter in our pocket-sized towns as the 2017 Holiday Event blew into our towns with a major cold front! Of course, while the town is frosty cold the store is hot, hot, hot…and loaded with new premium items just tempting us to spend our sprinkles!
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Christmas Tree Ralph to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this tannenbaum Ralphie to your town…
Full Disclosure: You guys know how much I love this time of the year & this event is loaded with really good content, I do intend to purchase every single NEW premium item available. So I’ll do my best to provide an impartial view…but odds are it’ll be a little biased because I think the content for this event is phenomenal.
This is a character that says will earn Event Currency…stay tuned to Act 2 to find out how. However, he makes me laugh so much I wanted to do his SIB post now because I think you should get him based on the character alone….who doesn’t love little Ralphie?

I’m going to be completely biased here and tell you all to get him. He’s reasonbly priced & really adorable. There’s something about the innocence of Ralphie that you can’t help but smile about. Pick him up.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I already told you, I picked it up. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Been in contact with EA regarding Christmas tree Ralph not earning event currency I’ve received conformation that it’s a bug and shouldn’t have stated that they are returning me 20 donuts if youve brought him thinking he’d help like me then contact EA help ☺
Now that Act 2 is here does anyone know how Christmas Tree Ralphie will earn event currency?
Same way the others do…battles. He’s not worth it for the event currency alone, he earns the same as freemium players & you can only send 4 at a time.
I love Ralphie, this was a no brainer – even before the SIB. 🙂
I bought him, and I’m a freemium/hybrid player. I didn’t know he had a previous Christmas themed skin, I don’t know how I missed that! The only skin I had for him was the ballet costume. I love how cute he is in his Christmas tree get up! If I had the opportunity to get his elf skin, I would, as it sounds like the visual tasks for that are great as well. Are the character pop ups in this quest line a hint of things to come? I hope so!
Considering that Ralphie is an arsonist, giving him this costume was probably the only way his parents dared have a Christmas tree.
“My imaginary friend thinks you’re stupid” …. if you don’t buy Ralphie. “Come on American pick a winner, he is a good boy”.
I already have two premium skins for Ralph (and he spends most daytimes eating his sandwich onstage), but I bought this immediately! I love his dialog and this just seemed kinda….classic?

Easy Pass. His only outdoor task is 4hrs for $270/ 70xp. Ever since the rail yard has been continuous and not weekly, I’ve been busy keeping all my characters there. Ok, yes, Ralph isn’t one of them, but he’s pretty much all that’s left for Eating Crayon Sandwiches on my Springfield Bowl stage for $395/80xp!
In my opinion not worth it if you already have his elf costume which is also premium and has some really great outdoor tasks

I’m tempted, but I already have two premium skins for him. On the other hand, there’s not much else I want to spend donuts on in this event (I refuse to buy the mystery box — too many things I don’t want).

Since I already have his little helper costume and that already pays premium, I passed on this one. Finding out how few visual tasks it has just confirms my decision.
Pretty much my exact line of thinking as well.
His ballet skin also pays at a premium rate, for the record.

I grabbed him too, although I’m a little disappointed by one thing. This time of year really makes me want to put as many people in town into their Christmas skins as possible, and Ralphie already has one (his elf costume). I just wish they had released a skin to a character who didn’t already have a festive version. That said, this one for Ralph is pretty hilarious!
Right in the middle of his quest line. Gotta say, the dialogue is hilarious. Great buy. Quick question, if event currency is earned with characters in the next event, is the Funzo game moot in regards to currency? Shall I keep earning ice tiles now instead of stockpiling wrapping paper? Apologies in advance if this has been discussed previously.
Hard to say. We think the prizes will change. For me I’m going through thr box once more, then working on a stock pile. I wanna make sure i get all the ice I can, because you never know what future designs may be

I grabbed him right away. In part because I was so sad that I didn’t have the donuts for Elf Ralph two years ago and wasn’t in my store last year. Didn’t want to miss out on an adorable Christmas themed Ralphie again. Glad your SIB confirmed it was a smart impulse buy.

Poor Ralphie. You have to feel for the pudgy little guy. He tries so hard, but always ends up the butt of the joke. He knows he’s not like everyone else, but he perseveres.
I got the skin.
I let him “dance” most of the time. Seems to make him happy. School seems like a dead end for him anyway.
Shame only one outdoor task. But I adore Ralph so had to get it 😍
