It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread! So, let’s get the conversation going! Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long. This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

One week till Christmas!!!!
Happy 5th night of Chanukkah!
No new episode of the Simpsons this week, they’ll be back with new episodes in 2018. Instead, FOX is airing a live version of A Christmas Story (you’ll shoot your eye out!), one of my favorites! (It’s airing here in the US, not sure about anywhere else..)
We’re nearing the end of Act 1 of the Invasion Before Christmas is nearing the end…have you finished up the Act 1 prize track? Which items have you picked up?

Anyone else having an issue with TSTO uninstalling updates to their game? Luckily, I’m already done all of the quest lines and have got all of the prizes but I’ve had to login/reinstall all updates 5 times since act 2 started. I’m running the latest version of iOS on an iPhone 7+. Like I said, it hasn’t caused me to be in danger of not finishing, it’s just a pain in the butt
Once again the nightmare hedges have been redesigned. Their rotation is off so I have to manually readjust them again so my walls match up. I’m sure like last time, they will revert to ‘normal’ after the event or some later update but I can’t let them be. My mild OCD won’t allow me. Gives me something to do while waiting to get Kwanza Hibbert so I can fight the aliens again. That and grinding the Monorail! Thanks for all the extra donuts!!!

Thank you so much for all the messages and thank you to everyone who is sending positive energy, thoughts and prayers – it is really appreciated!
Mrs van T had surgery to reconstruct her hand and arm which seems to have gone well. She is currently on a ventilator to assist her bruised heart and lungs and has been kept sedated but they are planning to wake her this afternoon.
My friend is holding things together but it is extremely rough right now – I’m hoping her brothers can get here soon so they can all help support each other through this as well as share some of the load that she is currently carrying alone.
Once again, thank you for all the positive energy, thoughts and prayers that you are sending.

I’m wondering if anyone else is having the same problem I am. Every. Single. Time. I try to start up my game, it says it’s doing updates, and then I need to sign in. And then it spends about 10 minutes completing a major update. My iPhone is on the the most recent iOS and I’m getting really frustrated – to the point I may just give up on the game entirely.
Has anyone else countered this? I’d really love some advice.

Yes, it a constant issue and I brought it up sometime ago, but now it daily and up to 5 times a day. It’s called data theft because they know about it and choose to do nothing but now there’s a lot of this happening that they can’t ignore it anymore. E A Help have chosen to give a few donuts for your trouble tho you pay your phone bill. I’ve played for year but this year everything is lagging including customer service. Christmas was late, more expensive items ….
That’s usually a sign that your device needs more free space. Try deleting or uploading to the cloud a bunch of photos and any large unused apps, and clearing your cache. You may also want to do a complete uninstall/reinstall.

I have a question and I couldn’t find it mentioned in any other recent posts or when I searched the site for it, but Little Lisa’s Recycling Plant is showing up in my store, and I was wondering if it’s worth getting. It says it produces Blueprints, but I’m not sure how that ties into the Monorail quests, weren’t they just for unlocking the Rail Yard or something? I never picked it up and the completist in me wants to get it while I’m able to, but not if it’s completely pointless. I just noticed it says “Recommended” so it might not actually be something re-offered as part of the Christmas Event like I had been thinking it was. Any advice would be welcome! 🙂 Thank you!

Thank you! I don’t know why I couldn’t find that page when I searched, but it was exactly what I was looking for.
If you don’t have the railyard…the blueprints are of little use. But, it is on OK building, as long as you don’t pass by too closely on Tuesdays (that’s when they recycle bad TSTO acts).
I love it. I was so sick of the grind at the railyard every week. Since they lifted the weekly limit I’ve stopped doing it all together. I just clear my recycle plant and about every two weeks I get 5 doughnuts.
A good rule of thumb on all devices is to have a least 10% of memory free. So if you have 128 Gigs you should have 13 Gigs free.
I just tapped on a Robo Funzo and got a gold ticket, but I don’t know what it is for or where it went! Anyone have an idea?

for some reason it only shows snow if you turn the mansion so that it sits perpendicular to the coastline. try that discipledeep.
OK here’s a question I have had for a year now: is there any permanent character task for Springfield Henge? Once during the event last year it “lit up” for a second – very cool looking – but I have never seen it animate since. Would love to see that animation again! Thanks.
Periodically and randomly, the game will sometimes animate a small section of your town and any buildings/decorations in that area, usually until you leave your town (either by going to Krustyland or your friendvilles) or shut down your game.
It’s a fun little surprise when it happens, so enjoy it when it does! 😃
HI Sandra – yes I am familiar with those “glitches” and always enjoy them! I’ve only seen it happen once with the Henge – but I am still surprised that no one has a task there since it was such an important part of last year’s event.
A bit of a late reply but sadly no one has a task at Springfield Henge to animate it and the only way to see it is to get the “animation glitch” in a certain area of your town. I remember in September 2015 I first seen it in my game in the Springfield Heights area because my Business Centre, Health Spa, Spiffany’s, Classic and Modern Mansions, Red Blazer Realty and Valet Parking were lit up, someone was at sat at the table of the Deluxe Condo and a bird was on the chimney of Montessori School. Luckily, I was able to get screenshots of that moment and remember the animations of these buildings that no one uses.
Constantly kicked out and have to do the bloody 1897.2mb update yet again and again eating my data, so my understanding is you don’t plan on fixing it.

Is there a fix or are you stealing my data and expect me to spend money on donuts (I cannot use what I spent donuts on, because I can’t get into the bloody game) unless I update the 1897.2mb again!
This site is not connected to EA in any way, so you need to direct your ire and blame towards EA (maybe on EA’s forum), not towards the folks who run this site. No one here is stealing your data, nor can anyone here “fix” anything with the game.
That said, I can help you by explaining that the problem is likely that your device is low on space…that’s usually what causes repeated downloads like that. Try deleting a bunch of photos (or move them to the cloud) and any large-size apps you don’t need, then uninstall and reinstall the game (using WiFi, so you don’t have to spend for more data). If you’re able to free up enough space, that should fix your problem.
This recently happened to me and the issue was my phone (iPhone 5). It was extremely annoying. Although I had a couple of GB spare, I needed to have closer to 4GB free to make it stop. If you have that much space then unfortunately it may be something more sinister. Good luck!

Still enjoying the Christmas Update, and still thankful that it got rid of the 4h routine. It also seems to be a great “leveler” – I don’t see much difference in my A and B games, I am at around 20000 for all of them, the donuts spent in the A game didn’t get me much ahead this time. Let’s see what Act 2 brings, when all the skins and people I bought start earning event currency.
I think most would agree. I haven’t talked to him about it but my friend who started me tapping hasn’t been able to finish any act of any event in forever because of the 4 hour grind. He was getting ready to quit over it.the other day I saw he had the final prize. Thanks for listEAning. EA saved themselves a lot of frustrated customers.
Well seen the new Star Wars movie and I loved it. Can’t wait until the next one. My GF got me tickets for my birthday on the 18th
