Should I Spend Donuts on the Capital City Capitol & Rose Quimby?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Christmas is gone but snowy Springfield is still here!   We’ve got an all new mini- event to work our easy through.   (Politics and Stonecutters, what could go wrong?)  Of course, while the town is still frosty cold the store is hot, hot, hot…and loaded with new premium items just tempting us to spend our sprinkles!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Capital City Capitol and Rose Quimby to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this sweet old lady to your town…

Pros
-Full premium character

-A couple of amusing outdoor animated tasks
-Building is animated when in use (and Rose will use it beyond the questline)

Cons
-Not Voiced
-Pricey for a barely seen character combo

Final Thought
Premium:
This is one of those on the fence combos for me.  I’ll likely buy her before the event is over  but I’m not in a rush.  Can successfully complete event in plenty of time without her.  A little pricey and it’s barely seen character.  So it’s a meh…see what happens next week before you pick up combo.

Freemium:
I’d pass on this duo.  Save your donuts for a couple of better characters, but if you still have donuts come January 15th and really want her then grab her.  But for now I’d pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I already told you, I’m on the fence.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at her tasks…

Rose’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Bake Pies 1hr $105, 26xp Capital City Capitol Building
Elevate the Quimby Family 4hrs $260, 70xp Capital City Capitol Building
Plot Her End Game 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual
Pretend to be a Sweet Old Lady 12hrs $600, 150xp Outside/Visual
Wax Nostalgic 24hrs $1000, 225xp Capital City Capitol Building

  1. Pass! Too many Stonecutters Discounts getting my Sprinkles!

  2. It seems like all of you guys have been playing this game for a while now so if possible could you pls answer me theese 2 questions 1. If I Buy a costume for a premium charakter do I get the chrakter too even if I dont have it? 2. How do you get so many donuts. I have been playing this game for half a Year now and I still only have 120 Donuts 🙁

    • 1) If you buy a costume for a character you don’t have, that costume stays in your Inventory until you buy that character and go to your Inventory and click “Use” on that costume.

      2) Some of us spend real life cash to buy donuts. Some of us fill up our XP bars rapidly via Bloodmobile/Rat Trap Truck farming and/or via KEM farming. And some of us do both.

    • @Treasure_pack, I’m a freemium player at level 254 and I get my donuts by building track, which requires the Rail Yard, and by playing the Find Maggie mini game, which requires the Play Dough Factory. Each will give you three donuts every few days. Grab them when you can. I also visit my neighbors daily, which gives me between 1-4 donuts a day (randomly over the 100 neighbors allotted). Good luck with the game.

  3. A few of the stonecutter skins have tasks at the table – Homer and Wiggum do for instance. And the little alien stonecutter does as well. I think it is a 12 hour task you set when those skins are active.

  4. Any character with the task “Pretend to be a sweet old lady” is welcome in my town! 👍😄

  5. Every time I open tsto on my iPad I have to go through the 1120 MB of downloading. What can I do to resolve this problem? Is anyone else experiencing this?

    • Hi Forgey234, I had this problem on my previous iPad and it was lack of memory. I cleared out some unused apps and data and the problem went away. Good luck! (I know how frustrating it is!)

    • I seem to have this happen when I’m almost full of space (I suspect iOS purges downloaded when the device storage is almost full.)
Try freeing up some space on your pad. That always solves the issue for me.

    • More than likely your iPad is running out of harddrive space. TSTO is renown for uninstalling itself if you don’t have a “cushion” of space available. Try clearing out some unused apps, offload photos, pics, etc…Should clear things up.

    • Thank you all for your help

  6. Another woman for my town… ka-ching! 🖒

  7. Bought it to help with the event
I don’t get the point of building more stonecutter tunnels
What besides adding more clutter does it do for my Springfield?

  8. I am holding out. All my donuts are being spent on stonecutters paraphernalia and I am not sure I can be bothered to farm (or purchase) in order to pick up this combo. I will see what happens towards the end of the event.

  9. How do u guys have enough donuts to get these things that cost loads of donuts i only have 314! N I’m on level 56! I’ve never ever bought anything costing donuts 😂😂😂😫😫

    • Bored of the things

Simply by playing for over 5 yrs, having about 250 characters and 600% Multiplier, LVL 939 and KEM-Farming (brings me about 60 Donuts/day). Keep on grinding and you will be there soon.

      • I’ve played more than five years, have many characters (haven’t counted them), above level 939, but my multiplyer is only in the low 200’s. I wish I had known about KEM farming sooner. I never paid attention to the multiplier. I didn’t understand what it was for until I read Safi’s great post. I’m also always short on cash. I’m amazed at those of you who have so much game cash.

      • Same here, I make about 1M each day in game cash. After 20 days or so, I start my KEM farming. I buy 66 KEM’s about every 4 hours for a 10 day XP generator cycle. I usually make 550 to 600 donuts in that 10 day period. I too have been playing for five years. I have all but 30 characters (most of them NPC’s) and I must have at least one of everything so yeah, I make a lot as long as I keep the characters working.

    • Invest 25 donuts into the XP Collider and power through some levels. Even without KEM farming you should level up fast enough to pay back the donuts spent with some extra. You have ~900 more levels to go each of which gives you a free donut. In addition buy items with a good multiplier to donut cost when they pop up I went up a decent percentage just by grabbing up decorations that were 10 donuts after a rebate.

    • KEM farming. Just search for that in the sidebar and you should find the method. Short version: turn on the XP Collidor, build a bunch of Kwik-E-Marts (20-30), wait 4 hours, collect all the XP, sell the KEM’s. Repeat. If you find you’re running out of cash then build less KEM’s each time. The net result is that you level up very quickly and get bonus doughnuts each time.

  10. David Billington

I bought the combo straight away. I have an area with what i could best describe as large official type regal buildings such as the law courts. I also picked up the other building too.

  11. I bought her after 24 hours. I I like adding to my collection of female characters and although not a regular, she has the Quimby name and I like a good matriarch. Also, I like the building and know that if I want a satellite Capital City, the Capitol building would be key.
The price was fairly high but not unreasonably so – 150 sprinkles does seem about average these days. 180 plus and I may have had to think about her a bit longer.

  12. I bought her. Another Quimby! It would have been cool if she had a task at the Quimby compound.
I like the Capital City stuff. Makes me wish I had Mindy. I’ve been waiting for her to show up in the vault forever.

  13. I pretty much buy all characters these days, unless they bother me for some reason. But I like this combo…another woman, another Quimby (I like having relatives living in the same town), and a decent building.

  14. So after reading all the farming success stories….i thought id give it a try. I had just under 130 million in game cash just sitting there. I went the bloodmobile route instead of KEMs. Holy cow….24 hrs later and i am 130 levels and 130 donuts richer! Im at about 108 million in game cash now. I stand a humbled woman. I am no longer a farming virgin! 😜🚜🍩🍩🍩 Lol. I don’t know if im gonna be hooked, but its good to know i can use that game cash for something! Wow!

    • Ahhhh. I still don’t know if you can call bookmobile swapping “farming.” But… yes… I too am a Late convert. It is habit forming.

    • Welcome to the bonut dark side 😈🍩🖒

    • hi, do you know a special secret how to get so much money? I can accummulate around 1 mio per day maximum with my bonus. any advice?

      • In brief, build houses to buy land to build houses… and work on a KEM farm and the challenges etc. to use the donuts to boost your bonus.

    • Did you have your XP collider on? 120 doughnuts seems low for spending $22 million. With $130 million in in-game cash, you have obviously been playing for awhile, so I would assume that your bonus percentage would be pretty high.
I did a quick test and spent $1 million on blood mobiles. I got 15 doughnuts (I always go for 3, which I know is a waste of cash, but I can’t settle for 1)

      • Yup…it was on. Just 24 hrs. I also did one small round of KEMs (about 20)…but was more satisfied with the instant payoff of bloodmobile placement. Ive been playing about 2 yrs? 2 1/2…..since the middle of Tap Ball… My % is at 164.50%….is that decent?

    • Buying trap trucks is a little less time intensive than bloodmobiles since they cost more but the experience point to money spent ratio is just as good as the bloodmobiles. Basically you can convert your excess money to experience points faster since they cost more and you need less space to place them.

  15. Don’t even know who this chick is. Lol

  16. I got her and have her farming executive orders currently. The building will make a nice edition to Springfield Heights when I get around to working on it more. Also just curious is her quest line just running her tasks like most premium characters or is there more to it because I haven’t seen any info yet on the forums and patiently waiting for someone here to post a guide for her and Lloyd.

  17. Building + character = instant buy (at any price).
