Another day, another Mystery Box arrives in Springfield! This time, as part of a political mini event, the Shadow Government Box is full of Spy and Government themed goodies from years past!
This is a premium box full of your chance to get those limited-time premium character/building/decorations with a spy/government flair to them. By now we should all be familiar with how Mystery Boxes work, so let’s jump to the breakdown of what’s inside…
This Mystery Box is a great way to get items you may have missed out on from Previous Events at a low price…
And…if you already have everything in the box you won’t see the box in your store.
So for 60 donuts you can have your shot at a variety of politcally inspired premium characters, skins, decorations and buildings from the past, 60 Donuts is equal to or less than the initial value for each item (although some were initially prizes, so they were free when released)

Now, while I know you can’t pick and choose which items you want from the box, I included the Should I Buy (or details) posts from the past so y’all can see how much they originally cost & what specifically each building/character does.
60 Donuts is a meh price for most of these items…especially since a bunch of them were originally free…but still 60 donuts is a fair price for most of the items at least. So my thoughts are, if you have something in there you want…give it a try. You’ll likely get something worth it.

I got Russ Cargill, but I can’t believe I can’t get Mastermind Hank just because I got Hank Scorpio before. He would be the best to get in this whole mini-event.
I keep purchasing Hank Scorpio from this mystery box, but it’s not showing up. It’s still saying it’s for purchase and hasn’t disappeared. Has anyone had this problem? I’ve checked my storage too.
So Mastermind Scorpio was the only item I needed from the box (I do not own Scorpio or Volcano Lair). Naturally, I jumped all over getting the package for 60 donuts, but when I check my storage, all I have is the costume, and clicking on it tells me I need to purchase Scorpio/Volcano to use. Anyone else having this problem?
You won the Costume…not the character. It’s not a problem or a bug, it’s how it’s intended. You need Hank Scorpio to use the costume. Just like you would need Jasper to use Jasper’s Stonecutters outfit. You can purchase it & it’ll sit in your inventory until you decide to purchase the premium character required.

Yeah, that’s why I’m confused. I went ahead and used my donuts when I saw other people here say they got Scorpio/Volcano/Costume bundled together with the box.
Not true. I never had Hank Scorpio before, and I just now won him in the Mystery Box – with the lair and the extra costume. So you can definitely get the whole shebang for 60 donuts. Maybe EA has fixed this issue in the last 5 days?
Freemium player… already have the free items and Hank Scorpio, and first hit I get All-Seeing Eye, the most expensive one left! Sweet!

Unfortunately I don’t think that character that were free play out premium. Just check president Lisa and look like it normal for a 4 hr task

Off topic. The re-release of all of the Stone Cutter stuff got me thinking. Do you think EA is prepping us for another full blown Stone Cutter event?

I said no both times lol. The you never know is a cya move. It’s the 3rd time through. If they were giving you a full blown stonecutters more would be free. Like number 1 or homer, cause likely they would play an important part of a reboot.
In my mind, getting #1 or Stone Cutter skin for Homer would come with the event itself. I would guess that they would give you the Homer skin for free, and offer #1 for doughnuts if/when there were to be another Stone Cutter event.
My personal belief? I don’t think we’re going to get another Stone Cutter event anytime soon, but (as you say) you never know. One can only hope.
But they wouldn’t just charge folks donuts for the character and skin, and then shortly after launch an event that gives them away for free. They’re a little crazy…but they’re not that messed up lol
Kodos and Kang were originally each premium and have been given away for free numerous times afterward…but they haven’t been premium since 2012 and 2013.
The only item in my mystery box is Adil Hoxha so I’m not sure if he is worth it for 15 donuts cheaper than he was originally. If it was Russ Cargill, Mastermind Hank or the two buildings then I would of bought it instantly but with Adil, I passed spending donuts on him during the Secret Agents event when he first appeared.
The only thing I had in my box was the All Seeing Eye.. and I’ve wanted it for a long time. Instant buy.

Is Mastermind Hank Scorpio just a skin for Scorpio or is the full character plus skin? Cause I don’t have him in my town. That would be a really awesome prize for 60 donuts if so!

It appears, based on the comments that I’m reading, if you already have Hank and his lair then the skin is not available. Pretty lame if you ask me.
This box was a must buy, as I had only 3 premium characters and two buildings in. Bought 2, got all seeing eye and hank scorpio. I am hoping to get enough donuts for a third try.

Am i the only one who doesnt have mastermind hank scorpio in my box. Id love to buy the costume but its not avaliable. Yes i have actual plain hank in my town with the volcano and its xmas version. No i dont have the costume sitting in my box or the ballon from event??

EA must have rEAlized that 60 donuts is too much for a skin that pays the same rate as the characters normal tasks.
Not really since it was offered for a huge 120 donuts during the spy event to those of us that already had hank Scorpio! 😠

I like the look of it. It fits in nicely with Stonecutter stuff or Egyptian decos.

If you’ve got a gazillion doughnuts to spare, then buy it. Otherwise, it’s your own personal preference.
You should buy it… it fits in with a Stonecutter area, if you have one, or the Egyptian area which is where I have it

I only have 4 options in my Mystery Box: Russ Cargill, Adil Hoxha, Republican Party Headquarters & All Seeing Eye
I dont care for the Buildings, and Russ & Adil have very little appeal for me. Had only Russ & Adil been the only 2 options in my box, I would have definitely purchased the box once ….. But I simply cant take the chance of getting a stupid building in my 1st attempt. So I’m passing out on this box completely
I hope EA soon does another “Character Only” mystery box like they did in November 2017 as part of BF sales. I CLEANED that box entirely. I never spend donuts on stand-alone buildings
I hope on Valentine’s Day in 2018, Luann, Manjula & Jasper are offered for rebate. I badly want these 3 premium characters in my town, but I refuse to pay full price for them, even though I have the bonuts/cronuts to buy them, but it is just a matter of principle…… which is that I am a bargain/rebate person = ))

When will we be hearing about the rest of the stonecutter stuff e.g table and skins? For someone who joined after the initial stonecutters event, would love some info and reccomendations on all of the stuff that’s availble.

You won’t. I’m not doing a new post on them. This is the third time through and they’re all cheap. Every item has a post accessible through searching this site if you need more info on them. If you like them buy them.

Here is a picture of the four stonecutters who can sing at the table. They are the alien Number 51, and (if you have their stonecutter skins) Krusty, Homer, and Wiggum. Hope this helps.
