The Buck Stops Here Prize Breakdown: Capital City Plaza Hotel

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ah the first update of 2018 is upon us!  As the Buck Stops here mini-event rolled through Springfield last week.  Gotta love mini-events, a nice relaxing way to enjoy some downtime in TSTO but still have something to keep you tapping every so often.

Remember, this event is designed to follow a series of tasks via the questline to unlock prizes.  For each of the parts of the Well-Scare State questline, you’ll have to earn  via various character tasks in order to unlock the prize for that part.

Let’s take a look at the details of the first prize, the Capital City Plaza Hotel.  What it does and how you unlock it…



The first prize unlocked during the Buck Stops Here Mini Event is the Capital City Plaza Hotel:

How You Unlock It: Wel-Scare State Pt. 1
Make Lisa Shame Stonecutters- 3hrs
Make Springfielders Prep for Conserva-clypse- x5. 3hrs
Earn Executive Orders- x150

Once you’ve completed that task you’ll automatically be awarded the Plaza & you’ll be greeted with a popup message giving you the option to store or place it in your Springfield immediately. Place it in town, you’ll need it for the questline.

Conform-O-Meter Impact: Consumerism +10
Build Time: 4hrs
Earns: $200, 20xp/12hrs
Animation: Animated when in use, lights turn on. 

It does come with some short dialogue and a 1 part task, here’s a look at it now:

Sweet Sin-Sation

Homer: Oh no! The hotel where Mindy and I stayed is back! I don’t know if I’ll be able to resist temptation again!
Mindy: I know, Homer, it’s going to be tough for us to stay apart–
Homer: I wasn’t talking about you! I meant the temptation of the hotel mini-bar: tiny liquors, king size chocolates, tiny chocolates filled with liquor…
Quimby: Er, ah, did someone say “hotel” “with” “expensive” “taste” “filled with” “temptation” and “vending machines”?
Homer: How long were you standing there? And why do the words “vending machines” excite you?
Quimby: Trust me, you don’t want to know!
Make Quimby Enjoy the Presidential Suite- 1hr, Earns $70, 17xp

    I like the design of this building and the animation is similar to the business centres with all the windows lighting up, but are there any tasks here after the questline? I started designing an area for the Capital City buildings and the Hall of Records (when I get it) and the Scandal-Gate Hotel in my Springfield.

    I have bought everything, but I have not been offered Bix, so I wonder if this is yet another glitch?

    I would have put this in storage (it’s the Capital City Hotel, not the Springfield Hotel), but the majority of Birch Barlow’s jobs happen here. I found a compromise by putting a “Hail Ants!” sign right in front of the hotel sign which completely blocks it off, and then I just pretend Barlow is spinning conspiracy theories about giant ants.
