Should I Spend Donuts on Erik & the Dodgeball Court?

Final Thought
Premium:
This combo will help with the event & add a nice 4% bonus to your Springfield.  Not a bad pickup.  My only hesitation is at 150 donuts, it’s pretty pricey for a one-off character.  If you can get past the price tag for the character, not a bad pickup.

Freemium:
Given the choice between Erik and Wendell, who are both 150 donuts and will both earn event currency, I’d pick Wendell.  Because Wendell is more of a classic Simpsons character.  So if donuts are tight, pass on Erik and save them for Wendell.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I already picked him up.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).  Also, this is one of those items that will help you earn more currency…so the earlier you pick it up the more beneficial it is to you.  So try to make your final decision before this weekend…so that it’ll help you the most.

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Erik’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length Earns Location
Get a Squishee 1hr $105, 26xp* Kwik-E-Mart
Take on Bart 3hrs $400, 110xp* Outside/Visual
Practice Dodgeball 4hrs  $260, 70xp* Outside/Visual
Hang with fifth Graders 8hrs $420, 105xp Springfield Elementary
Work on Class Project 12hrs $600, 150xp Springfield Elementary
Spend the Night at Bart’s 24hrs $1000, 225xp Simpson House

*during this event 1hr, 3hr, and 4hr tasks payout event currency.  23, 136 and 90  etc. respectively.  Also has a 2hr task to catch a movie if you have the Big T Theatre and 30m task to sneak ice cream (if you have Homer’s Ice Cream Truck)

Erik’s 3hr payout (cash) is a guess on my part.  It’s based on doubling a 3hr premium payout.

What are your thoughts on the Dodgeball Court and Erik?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring them to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I was debating between this one and wendell. Decided to buy this firet. This was only available during act 1 and wendel was available for 30days more. So i might be able to get both this way. If imwould have bought wendell, this one would be gone.

  2. it’s a bit pricey but I like the 4% and has some good tasks, so I’m going to get it. Seems like EA doesn’t offer as many opportunities for increasing bonus percent these days.

  3. I got Wendell first. Even though I don’t watch the show much anymore, I want to have the classic characters. I like Erik’s bonus, but as I only have 90 donuts, I will likely see what comes for the next Act.

  4. When’s the last time a character/building bundle came with a 4% bonus? And his quest tasks earn event currency? I can’t remember ever seeing a bonus that high as part of a package and rarely do quests ever earn anything but game cash…I got it immediately.

    • Me too 😊

    • I believe the Fiesta Terrance and Senor Ding Dong’s Doorbell Fiesta from last year were both buildings that had the 4% bonus percentage as well as generating cash and xp. The Dodgeball Court I think is a decoration not a building.

    • The Forgotten Grave of Frank Grimes has a 4% bonus, I believe. Most characters come with a building rather than a deco, though, and buildings are less likely to be multipliers.

I like Wendell being now in Springfield, but since I’m trying to increase my % and farming KEMs I think Erik makes more sense.

  6. This is a definite “wait and see” for me. I got Wendell, and if other classic characters are on their way, I’m in no hurry to get one I don’t recognize.

  7. I am aware that if a player taps & clears every 4 hours regularly, they don’t need to buy any premium item and they will get all prizes

But I wanted to buy one premium character that earns event currency to help ease the pressure ……. so I chose Erik over Wendell, simply because of the 4% bonus

And oh btw, Alissa, you wrote few days ago “There will be a small Valentine’s Day content update on the 14th…but it doesn’t look like anything to write home about.”

I would suggest to take a look back again at the files, because IF the “mystery box” that is in the files indeed appears, I’m sure several players would be happy with the items inside it 😉 ……. And yes, several would be grumpy about paying (too much) extra donuts for those items 🙂

    • I know what’s in the files…it’s nothing to write home about. It’s nothing new, all regurgitated stuff. When you’ve been playing TSTO for 5 years, it’s really hard to get excited about the same returning content year after year after year….with nothing new added (well 1 new building added).

      • Yes, apart from the 1 building, nothing else is new ……. But what’s exciting (for me at least) is the chance to buy character+building combos that I deemed too expensive when they first came out & thus did not buy them back then …… Now when they will be offered at rebate/discount, I will finally buy them (I’m a freemium/farmium player 🙂 )

I cleaned out the Valentine box last year, so this year, I will only be offered 3 character+building combos + 1 stand-alone building. I’m already excited and Valentine’s is 2 weeks away lolzzzzzz 😛

  8. Both available for the duration of the event, but Erik comes with that 4% bonus, and will make it that much easier to earn another 150 donuts to purchase Wendell and any other short term items that may pop up.

  9. After all these years, Principal Skinner finally has an answer to his question, “where are the dodgeballs?”

  10. Not sure if this is elsewhere but what’s up with all the land requiring free land tokens? Is this a bug in my game or happening to everyone?

  11. I picked Wendell.. new classic character. Never heard of Erik but probably better buy if it’s coin flip for you.

I hope there’s an unseen twist and the Ruffians win..for a while anyway. Ruffians never catch a break.

Not to mention they are easy to find in neighbors towns.

  12. Wendell may be more classic but if I’m spending 150 donuts I’d much rather get the 4% than another building.

  13. Just got a mini update….maybe its the patch youve all been wanting for land purchases???

He smokes a joint with Bart ?? How cool can it get !! LOL ( Sorry Alissa I just couldn’t let that go) I got him last night and his 60 minute task pays off 25 beers that could be a payday for insomniacs.

This is an exemple of how a premium chata should be.

    Has a solo task for 1, 4, 8, 12 and 24 hrs

Has a joint task with other character

Has at least 2 animated task.

  16. Hi Alissa
Will he carry on for act two though.earning event currency. Does wendell has a 4% bonus as well?
