As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add Slaghold to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this iron works to your town…

Final Thought
Premium:
Not a bad pick up. It’ll help you earn more event currency, every 8hrs and with Cletus’ job. I’d grab this one if you’re worried about not getting all of the prizes.
Freemium:
Unless you’re worried about not getting all of the prizes (and for good reason, like you can only get into your town twice a day), I’d completely pass on this one. 100 donuts is just too pricey for something like this.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I’m likely passing. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now). Also, this is one of those items that helps you earn more currency…so the earlier you pick it up the more beneficial it is to you. So try to make your final decision before this weekend…so that it’ll help you the most.

Anyone finding the timer on the Slaghold is randomly resetting, so that it is *not* paying out every eight hours? This seems to be happening to me….
Yep, happening to me, too. So EA takes our donuts, we expect 120 duff beers every 8 hours & it’s busted. Wonder what our remedy is for all the lost duff beers so far after spending our donuts? Not a cool move by EA.
I know–I’m NOT happy about this. 100 donuts is no joke. I did get my 120 Duff beers this morning (1/28)… So hoping EA has done something. But they should really be doing more, i.e. refunding those beers….
I think there’s another glitch with this as it hasn’t shown the duff beer bottle all day, but when you tap it is says it has 7hr 58min to go, as if I had just tapped it. Lovely…spent donuts on a decoration…lol
Other users have been reporting this at the EA Forums and Answers HQ. I posted there as well as starting a “case” and reporting via email. Hope they straighten this out.

It has 2 actually (British English) – the one you are referring to and the one that is intended by the name of the building – slag as in the remains of metal production 🙂

After I read your post I decided to get this one. In a way, it reminds me of Castle Grayskull. I’m sure that I’m playing the really awesome He-Man event in Family Guy right now has no bearing on that 😉
This will fit into my futuristic/dystopian section beautifully.

Guys, something weird and annoying happened in my game… I already won the 1st prize and I was over 10,000 Duff beers. However, for some reason, when I logged in again after a break, I only had 947! -_- Why did the game remove over 9,000 event currency units? :’-(
Anyone notice if you turn your phone upside down on the title screen I believe Sky Finger is flipping us off. On another note I hope we can get a run down of the content inside the doomsday mystery box. I’m a bit too lazy looking it up myself. In my own personal opinion nothing there seems worth it.
Careful with your negativity toward the Mystery Box…other players may “turn their phone” on you! LOL!

It’s coming, but it’s not high on my priorities list. i.e it won’t be this week.
Really? Nothing seems worth it? Huh. I’ll have to go back and look at the full list (I only had about 7 items in my MB), but I felt most were worth it as most of the items were 2.5% bonus.
Except the dud: Mayan bundle (but I like the stone calendar and now I finally have a premium skin for Marge….oh, and this bundle does include Homer’s skin to help with the questline). I’m happily making my way through the mystery box and getting it all.
I wasn’t sure about the mutant rabbit thing, but saw on this site it a playable with 2 tasks(?) that look interesting.
Someone said the Zombie sandwich is in there? Sooooo worth it! Comes in very handy to send railyard characters on premium 1hr tasks when their recycle building is full.

Ugly, ugly, ugly! I’d like to get it for the benefit of the event, but spending 100 donuts for something that will go into storage (along with everything else from this ugly event) seems wasteful. On the other hand, it’s not like I’m short on donuts right now…. I’ll have to think on this one some more (although I hate to let time pass before buying stuff that helps with an event, since I’m losing some of its usefulness when I do that…).
I agree: it is an ugly event! Hopefully Acts 2 and 3 surprise and delight us… (not much hope).
Sorry ladies, more of a “man” event. I love Mad Max. Watched Road Warrior and Thunderdome at least 20 times as a kid. The new Mad Max is very visually striking and after watching it 3 times I appreciate it more and more why there was such hype. BUT, you gotta like that kind of genre to get behind this.
I usually ignore these types of event decos, but this time around I bought it almost immediately, because I have tentative vacation plans for next month. No idea if I’m going to have regular internet access during that period. (The last time I went on a legit vacation was during the Casino Event… and strangely enough, I found myself on board a cruise ship with easy access to a *real* casino, but entirely unable to play Tapped Out!)

I already had the building and placed it in the defence zone and the numbers didn’t change.
Interesting…i did it in my B game last night got the 5% boost. Tried in A game, no boost shown. I wonder if it was a glitch

Exactly! I don’t understand all this negative hates about this building. It’s very unique. I bought this immediately for the look and movie studio area is a nice idea 🙂
