Bart Royale 101: Crafting Item Overview

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ah the Crafting post….where I give you the how-to and break down each and every item available to craft, so you don’t miss a thing!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last couple of years that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self-explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self-direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.

Now I know some of you still have questions so, let’s take a look…

By now everyone should know how crafting works.  But for those who don’t, I’ll cover the basics again.  But real quick, so I know a chunk of you won’t read what I write anyway…

And now onto the basics….

Crafting is triggered via Scrap City via the MAIN questline…Planet of Escapes Pt. 7

Tapping scrap city will bring you to the crafting menu.  You can also access the crafting menu via the event hub menu by clicking the trophy icon and then the crafting icon…

The Crafting Currency is Scraps, they look like this:

You can earn Crafting Currency from:
-Tapping Ruffians
-Assault/Fortify Bases
-Neighbor’s Towns

Crafting consists of different levels.  Each level unlocks more items to craft.  You spend crafting currency to level up. And once again they’ve decided to stick with what’s worked in the most recent events, you do NOT have to choose between Leveling up and Crafting.  The currency you spend to Craft items will count towards the currency needed to Level up!

Similarly…you DO NOT HAVE TO CRAFT ITEMS TO LEVEL UP. You can level up by simply tapping the green button next to the level up bar.

It still takes crafting currency, but it prevents you from crafting a bunch of stuff you may not want in order to level up.

So the choice is yours, you can level up as you craft items.  Or you can just level up without crafting items.

And as with previous events, crafting ends when the event is over.  There’s no rush to get it done now, you can wait until the event is almost over to get everything your tapping heart desires…HOWEVER…you’ll want to craft items with the Defensive Bonus in order to max out your Playscape and Junk Base rewards. So you’ll need to do some crafting before the event is over.

And finally, there are 10 total crafting levels.  You’ll start at Level 1 so you’ll need to level up 9 times (to reach level 10), in order to unlock all of the craftable items.  Here’s the breakdown of how much currency is required to reach each level and unlock new items:

Level to Reach Currency Required to Reach
2 200
3 300
4 600
5 900
6 1200
7 1200
8 1400
9 1600
10 2000

So now that we’ve gone over those basics, let’s get to why most of you are reading this post…the breakdown of each craftable item.

Let me preface this by saying, for this event most of the craftable items are decorations.  Therefore, what to craft and how many is entirely up to you…as to what you think will work best in your Springfield.  There are some great decorations that can work in a variety of ways in Springfield (depending on how you’re building your town) but it’s up to you to determine what works best for your town.

My Personal Opinion on Craftables…
As always get what you like/what will work for your town.  However, keep in mind you need certain craftables to boost your defensive bonus.  So focus on that, and once that’s maxed out you can go with the order items.

So again…don’t kill yourself trying to get all this stuff.  Sometimes less is more. Craft what you have a use for in Springfield….

Hope that helps some of you who have been stressing out over crafting!

  1. So I got the Damaged Courthouse, not realizing it’s a facade, will we get the actual Courthouse, or was that a premium building or something?

    • The Court House is released as part of the Level 38 questline, and comes with Judge Roy Snyder.

      • Ooooh..! I tried looking around my Springfield for it, but couldn’t seem to find it, so that’s why thought maybe premium😳 let’s just say it’s been a while since level 38😅

  2. Damaged Courthouse bug: it seems to be NOT unique, in the sense that my game will get me craft another one (?), even though I already have done that and am using it! Weird. Anybody else seeing this?

    • I noticed the same bug. Says quantity 1/1, so suggests it’s unique but doesn’t display the same as other unique items. I wouldn’t mind having a separate damaged courthouse for my post-apocalyptic section of my Springfield.

  3. Did anyone else get shafted on the Truck Shack? I crafted it a couple days ago, but it never showed up. No automatic placement, and nothing in my Inventory. At a ‘cost’ of 1,250… losing that really hurt. 🙁

    • Have you tried looking under “buildings” or “Houses” of the inventory? I found it in both the sections I listed. It is classed as a building not a decoration. It does have a 4 hour build time so it could possibly be building in your town if you placed it.

  4. Crafting – there’s no doubt that Crafting Decor to increase Defense Bonus is a must. I’ve chosen to only Craft the Decor which offers the most Defense % without taking up too much space (thereby not being overwhelmed by Decor post Event). I’m grateful EA introduced new Craftables to boost Defense Bonus (who knows what new Craftables will show up for Act 3?). 👍

The Battlescape and Truck Shack are the ONLY non Defense Bonus Craftables I did Craft (everything else looked ‘meh’ and the comments I’m reading confirm this). For the 1st time, EA offers a final Craftable that is lame (in my opinion)! A Building Skin vs a New Building? C’mon EA! That’s not even going to encourage me to go past Level 9 in Crafting! 👎

My opinion could change if there’s anything new introduced to Craft in Act 3 that’s equivalent to a Building (and you know I save all the extra Crafting Currency I can to use in the beginning of the next Act to boost Defense Bonus immediately) …

Keep On Tapping / Happy Valentine’s Day 😀

  5. The battledome drops 5 scrap every 4 hours.

  6. I’m not getting any scraps or colas from neighbours? only fp xp and cash.
    any ideas why?

  7. I think Cletus has a task at the Truck Shack or it might be another Shack available or yet to come because I seen that the task is greyed out and I don’t have the Truck Shack yet (just crafted the House Frame).

  8. Is anyone else getting logged out every few hours and having to reinstall a 750MB update?

  9. Which characters can use the battlescape after the quest line?

  10. Think I will give the ruble pile and damaged courthouse a miss, saving for the horse drawn carriage and then save for act 3 in case all bases need to be 20%

    • Since I’m not building an apocalypse-scape, I’m passing on the rest of the crafting stuff also. Guess I will just buy up a bunch of playground fencing. I’ll keep my new playground after the event, but the rest is doomed to storage.

  11. Is the house frame a returning item? There used to be a premium combo with a half built house with a character but it’s gone from my store.

  12. So…is it okay to just craft for Max 20% defense bonus for ONE place (i.e. Playscape or Junk Base) and then move them to the next defensible location in Act 3?

Or do we need to craft 20% for all locations, i.e. if there is going to be some battle between locations at the end of Act 3?

I assume only need 20% defense bonus items for ONE base and move them to new location the following Act.

This way don’t have to craft anymore until the last 2 days of the event so I can decide how many of fences & other decorations I want for town design.

    • Crafting trenches and barriers seems to be OK for each facility for I can (and will) use them later. So I will have 20% everywhere AND some useful decoration. For the rest… this will be in question just before the end of the event.

    • I only have 20% on my junk base, my playscope is on zero. I’m not sure if that is the correct way to do it, but I don’t think it will be a problem.

In act 3 I will place them in the new fighting area for that act.

In the way of crafting, I like the battlescape (boat) I have placed it on some squidport tiles in the water. I’m currently working on getting the truck shack ( I only like it because I think the ‘don’t read this’ sign is funny because we have already read it) 😛

As I love animals,I think the horses pulling the car is sad 😕
I know it’s not real, but I still feel sorry for them… 😕
(I’m probably the only 1 who thinks so)
      I guess I’m just a silly kitty girl 😛 🐱🌸🌟

  13. “HOWEVER…you’ll want to craft items with the Defensive Bonus in order to max out your Playscape and Junk Base rewards…”

I assume this answers my question if it is wise to max out both before act 3, because at the moment we can drag crafted bonuses to increase one but decrease the other without harm. I catch your drift!

Outstanding post as always! Thank you!

    • So do we need to max out both locations? I would rather craft truck shed and other things if we only need one location at 20%
