Bart Royale Prize Guide: Act 2, Prize 1 Outlands Gate

Ohayo Original Outstanding Optimistic Outlands Onlookers,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “O”)

Looks like we’ve got ourselves a Mad Max tribute on our hands! Bart Royale has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields! This apocalyptic event hit our devices and it’s full of Homergeddon inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Second Act you’re tasked with collecting Buzz Cola () to unlock each prize!

The first Act 2 prize awarded at 6,500  is the Outlands Gate, because sometimes you just wanna have a sign to tell people to keep out!

So let’s take a closer look at this first prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 6,500 , you’ll automatically be awarded the Outlands Sign and you’ll see this message popup:

And you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield or store it in your inventory immediately. Remember if you store it, you’ll have to go into your inventory later to retrieve it.

The Outlands Sign is a decoration, so there are no tasks for it and no character interactions. However, it can help you earn more event currency as it comes with a 3.00% bonus if placed in the defensive zone.

So if you place it in the defensive zone around the Mega Playscape or Junk Base or Ruffian Fort, you will earn a 3.00% bonus towards the event currency as shown below:

However, if you don’t place the item in the defensive zone, it will just be a decoration that does not contribute towards bonus event currency as shown below:

Notes:

  • You’ll get the 3% bonus even if only one tile of the Outlands Sign is overlaid on just one tile of the defensive zone.
  • You’ll get 1.5% bonus towards each buildings’ defensive bonus if the sign is placed such that it touches the defensive zone of two buildings.
  • You’ll get 1% bonus towards each buildings’ defensive bonus if the sign is placed such that it touches the defensive zone of all three buildings next Act (after the Ruffian Fort is released).

In addition to generating a bonus, it also comes with some fun dialogue that makes fun of the prize itself. Here’s a look at that dialogue:

Outlands Sign
Auto start once placed
Homer: There, now that the gate’s in place, no one will be able to get in without permission!
Carl: Uh, Homer, how is that cruddy gate going to keep anyone out?
Homer: It says, “keep out”, and everyone knows signs can’t be disobeyed!
Lenny: Wait, what happened to my lunch last week then? I had a pretty clear note on it!
Homer: I ate the note. Then I ate your lunch because there wasn’t a note on it!

And that’s it to the Outlands Sign. Not much to it… but here are some quick facts about it:
Size: 12×2
Conform-O-Meter: Vanity +100
Where Can I Place It?: Grass, Pavement, Dirt, Boardwalk, Pier, or Beach
What Does It Do?: Earns 3.00% defensive bonus

And there you have it; the details behind the Outlands Sign.

What’s Next?

Free Land Token – Awarded at 14,900 . However, as the Free Land Token is self explanatory, the next prize we cover in a rundown post will be the third prize (Outlands Water Tower).

So that my friends is the full breakdown of the first Act 2 prize!

What do you think of the Outlands Sign? Were you quick to unlock it? Where have you placed it in your Springfield? Is it in your defensive zone? Is it touching the defensive zone of both buildings? Thoughts on Act 2? What are you looking forward to? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love to hear from you!

  1. I know this is late but I just found this out and haven’t seen it posted yet. You can place the sign on three boardwalk tiles then remove the midle one (creating a “pass”) but it wont let you place it if there are only two to begin with. Weird but it works.

  2. So 60 is the max amount of event currency per character? I’m at 19.5% bonus and that’s earning 60, so there’s no reason I need to add the last half-percent, yes?

  3. Outlands Gate (thanks for the 3% Defense Bonus EA!) 👍

It’s just like the Water Tower (1% Defense Bonus), except that doesn’t take up as much space as the Gate. The main complaint about Act 2 is it’s all Decor and Character Skins as Prizes (I’ll be working on getting the last Prize Monday night, so I will wait and see if Act 2 was worth the grind for Bonuts)!

Keep On Tapping / Happy Valentine’s Day 👍😀

  4. Any hints on getting the newer character animations within the defensive zones? All my characters just stay hidden for four hrs. While earning Buzz Colas, etc. I see the animations running in many friends’ towns, but, alas, not in mine. I’m current with the prize track in other respects as far as I can see.

  5. I always like it when EA releases items that can have roads and rivers going underneath them. If the Outlands Gate did not have a defensive bonus with it then I would of used it as one of the entrances to the event area (the other entrance is going to have the Despair Height Sign from a few years ago) maybe after the event has ended I will move it.

  6. Not happy about the needing land tokens to buy land now. At one time I had 12 or so tokens and decided to use them since they were just sitting there. If this was the direction the game was going EA should have said something. Not happy.

  7. What happens for people who don’t have Lindsey Naegle yet, because they haven’t had the time to finish that epic grind until you finally get the Marketing agency?
Aren’t those people being set up for a big disappointment? That skin will go straight to the inventory and you’ll end up missing an additional character to earn even currency, and since you can’t finish the subquest that comes with the skin, you will also be denied the bonut rounds.

  8. One cool thing about this sign is that a road can go under it. I am using it as an entrance to my Mad Max area.

  9. How does the bonus work? I’m at 20% bonus and homer generates 60 colas per task. Does this already factor in the bonus, or should I be getting 72 colas when he finishes?

  10. We’re gonna skip the self explanatory free land tile??? The free land tile that just became the biggest comodody of the game.
I must have had 6 or so saved from previous events. Probably acquired 10 or so total. I know I’m on track to receive 3 from this event.
But does anyone have any clue how to obtain more? Are they a prize in any of the mini games or mystery boxes?

    • I think you get a total of 6 Free Land Tokens (FLT) from this event with 3 from the prize track (1 per act) and the other 3 from buying the Mega Playscape, Junk Base and the Act 3 Base. I have about 12 FLTs from this update and previous events, so maybe more FLTs would be available in mini events and updates outside of the major events or the Land Tiles that require FLTs to purchase would change to cash after the event or when the next major event appears since old Land Tiles decrease in price when new Land Tiles are released next to them.

  11. Move all bonus generating items to the defensive zone of the latest junk base and perform all attacking and defending tasks there for maximum bonus generation. Do the same when you get to act 3.

    • Rather than move all the defensive zone items, I found it easier to move the Mega Playscape and then move the Junk Base into that same spot.

      • Wish I had thought of that! I did move all the ditches as long units, and moved them back individually as I crafted fence parts and other stuff, so the junk base always was 20% and the old one increased accordingly. Don’t see any point to the old one at the moment, though.
