  1. I hit the 10,400 piece “wall” pretty regularly☹️…the only thing you can do is store some stuff before you add a new section. It does make you take a hard look at your town, tho, and see if there are any areas you can live without. Now that I’m forced to store before I can place anything new, I’ve found that there are always sections that I don’t really consider “great designs”…and storing them gives me a chance to change things up. Like you, the fun for me is in the designing. Once a section is done, tho, I see no need to keep it in my town indefinitely. I just finished re-arranging my islands again (and storing some stuff) to make room for a larger Outlands design…I probably ended up storing around 50 pieces. Sooo…that will probably get me thru this event…we’ll see😁.

    • Thanks, Ebron. As you probably have seen in my town, I have my main area that I’ve carefully designed.. and then I have my house farm and misc. buildings smooshed together all at the bottom. I honestly don’t know how you and some other players are able to always have tons of money and donuts. Do you spend real money to buy donuts? (I’m a freemium player.) I have all those misc. buildings to generate much needed game cash in order to do very small KEM farming. I only do about 30 KEMs at a shot to preserve my game cash. I was often around $0 dollars, but due to a game glitch someone pointed out here, I was able to temporarily earn extra money to buy more land. I saved a million dollars of that. It’s my “nest egg,”. How do you manage so well without KEM or house farming? You seem to be able to buy all the best premium items for your town. I do buy out of the Mystery Box here and there to boost my XP. I’m still under 300 XP though. You would think I was a new player, but I’ve been playing since nearly the beginning. I will admit that for the first two years, I was more focused on Mystery Manor.. but have since given up that game. I do love TSTO! 🙂

      • After playing with no clue for around 2 years (hadn’t discovered TSTO Addicts yet😉), I spent most of the next year focused only on increasing my XP percent. I KEM farmed and House farmed (60 white houses), had all my XP% items placed in my town and all the SH buildings out, ran my Collider 24/7, and spent all my donuts on Mystery Boxes and XP bargains (which is why I have very little Western and Superhero stuff from that year). By only focusing on my XP%, I was able to increase it to over 1000% in a year.
After you get that high of an XP% (and you continue to keep the Collider running 24/7) you will have no more cash issues and you won’t need to farm KEMs (but you can I you want to🙂).
I’m now up to 1350% (which I am just keeping level…no more increasing needed), so if all my folks are working on 24 hr tasks and I collect cash twice a day, I am clearing just over 5 million cash a day with no House or KEM farms. That means I can clear 15 donuts a day just from XP leveling up (I’m at level 939, so I go for the 3 donuts after earning 1,000,000 XP).
Anytime there is an event and I need extra donuts, I buy and sell Rat Trap Trucks…at this XP level, every $150,000 truck now yields 3 donuts. So, farming 34 Trucks (instant buy, no waiting four hrs) brings in 102 donuts and uses up only one days cash earned. In theory, I could buy 714 donuts per week thru Truck farming without depleting my cash level, and I earn 105 to 110 donuts per week just playing the game…so, around 820 donuts per week is possible.
I’m telling you all this because I just want you to know what is possible…don’t get discouraged. My town was a mess for around a year while I only focused on boosting my XP%…that’s ok…it’s a means to an end. My entire SH area was just a storage dump for that whole year because XP items were too valuable to store and they didn’t fit in my town anywhere. If you decide to go for it, just focus on mystery boxes and vault items that pay great XP (and run the Collider 24/7). Don’t worry, most everything premium in the events will come back at a discount next year and you will be able to buy whatever you want by then anyway. Happy XP% hunting😁.

        • Ebron, this is SO helpful! I really appreciate the time you took to explain it all. Alrighty, then mystery boxes will be my all consuming focus. It’s so tempting to stray off course when EA offers so many cool new building/character combos at each event. I too, floundered my first few years not knowing how to really play the game. I just assumed everyone who had a lot of premium items were cheating. I had no idea about KEM farming (thank you Safi!) or even what XP meant. Seems so long ago that we were whacking snake eggs.. lol! So I do have one more question for you. Obviously I keep my XP percentage multiplayers (like billboards etc) out of storage.. but what about buildings that earn XP every four hours. As you know, I’m right at my limit of buildings.

          • The most important buildings for getting an XP boost are:
Beach Hideaways – all 5 maxed out will net you a jump of 100%.
Next, the Springfield Heights Mansions (3 types), Business Centers and Parking Garages – you can get 10 of each kind – with varying hidden XP bonuses for each type of building…should boost you another 140% when they are all taken to level 2. (Use the following page link…lots of SH info at the bottom of the page…sorry, it’s a verrryyy long page) Also, you might want to bookmark the page…you’ll want it later😉.
            https://tstoaddicts.com/2016/09/29/chart-alert-cash-and-xp-bonus-awarded-for-items/

As for xp awarded with building rents and character tasks, it is based on a percent of the cash they bring in and seems to be a pretty standard hourly amount. (Not too much variation from building to building). Your characters earn lots more than your buildings, so they will earn you lots more XP as well. Both will get multiplied by five, tho, when you have the XP Collider charged, so start running it 24/7 as soon as you can. It is the single most important item in your town.

You can’t control how much rent and XP a building generates…you do, however, have control over your characters. A four hour task done 3 times a day will net you more cash and XP than a single 12 hour task. Soooo, send your people on 4hr tasks whenever you can and you will increase both cash and XP intake. (You probably already know this, but no harm in re-hashing).
A little note… characters are much more valuable than buildings. They bring in more cash, and don’t require a land purchase to place them. If you want to splurge once in a while during an event, always splurge on a premium character/decoration combo, where the decoration has a nice XP bonus attached. If the decoration also generates cash (pretty rare), terrific, but choose XP boosters over cash generators every time.

If you’re looking for items/buildings to store…first look at the prizes and crafting decorations from previous events. They rarely have an XP boost and some of the buildings don’t generate cash either. Second, store any SH add-ons (past level 2) that you have out..they have no value whatsoever. The exception is the Beach Hideaways… each piece in the set is worth a boost. Lastly, make all your buildings tranparent and store any decor stuff that ended up behind them.
I would hold off storing any cash/XP generators for now…I know it’s hard, but some of the decor (fences?) may have to go until they increase the cap on items. Hope all this helps😁.

        • Thank you again! I appreciate you taking the time to type up that very detailed XP guide for me. I’m going to print it out. It’s helpful beyond words. I will admit that my brain shuts off when there’s anything to do with numbers, which is why I had this whole XP thing wrong. Your response has caused me to rethink my strategy here. For example, I knew about the beach hideaways (I still need to buy more) butI had no idea about the parking garages or Springfield Heights mansions and parking garages. I’ll have to build some more, and store some of the other buildings. Ebron,, you should really think of writing this up as a guest post. You’ve really nailed it.

  2. Sorry, off topic.. but I just received a pop up saying I have reached the capacity of buildings and no more would be allowed. This is different from the one that warns you that your game will not perform correctly. You literally CAN NOT add another thing until you sell off or store things. Not happy about that. I have a lot of trees, bushes and flowers that I’m sure are causing this.. but I’m a designer, not a plopper. I love my trees and decorations. Come on EA! Expand our game memory. Anyone else unable to add items to their game?
