Bart Royale Prize Guide: Act 3, Prize 3 Ruined Lard Lad

Ohayo Original Outstanding Optimistic Outlands Onlookers,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter “O”)

Looks like we’ve got ourselves a Mad Max tribute on our hands! Bart Royale has found its way into our pocket sized Springfields! This apocalyptic event hit our devices and it’s full of Homergeddon inspired decorations, buildings & characters!

This Event is broken up into 3 Acts, with each Act containing part of the story.  To help you move along with the event you’ll get several prizes per Act. Each prize will either be something fun for Springfield or something to help you move along in the event.  For the Third Act you’re tasked with collecting Gas Cans  () to unlock each prize!

The third Act 3 prize awarded at 24,800   is the Ruined Lard Lad, because every apocalyptic world needs a reminder of what sweet sweet goodness it’s missing out on!

So let’s take a closer look at this third prize and just what happens when you unlock it in your Springfield…

Once you’ve collected 24,800 , you’ll automatically be awarded a Lard Lad and the Ruined Lard Lad skin. You’ll see this message popup:

And if you don’t have a Lard Lad, you’ll have the option to place it in your Springfield or store it in your inventory immediately. Remember if you store it, you’ll have to go into your inventory later to retrieve it.

The Lard Lad is a building and the Ruined Lard Lad a skin for the Lard Lad buildings.

Notes:

  • If you have multiple Lard Lads, you can change all their skins to Ruined Lard Lads.
  • If playing Where’s Maggie, Maggie can hide on Ruined Lard Lads, just as she could on regular Lard Lads.

In addition to a building and a cool skin, it also comes with some fun dialogue and a quick task for Chief Wiggum. Here’s a look at that dialogue:

Ruined Lard Lad
Auto start once placed
Homer: YOU MANIACS! You blew up our finest citizen — an innocent lad pushing lard!
Make Chief Wiggum Lay a Memorial Wreath – 60min, earns 70  and 17

And that’s it for the Ruined Lard Lad. Not much to it… but here are some quick facts about it:
Size: Skin for 10×11 Lard Lad
Conform-O-Meter: None
Where Can I Place It?: Grass, Pavement, Dirt, Boardwalk, Pier, or Beach
What Does It Do?: Nothing, just a skin.

And there you have it; the details behind the Ruined Lard Lad.

What’s Next?

Emperor Moe – Awarded at 36,300 .

So that my friends is the full breakdown of the third Act 3 prize!

What do you think of the Ruined Lard Lad? Were you quick to unlock it? Where have you placed it in your Springfield? Do you have other Lard Lads? Have you converted them to Ruined Lard Lads? Thoughts on Act 3? What are you looking forward to? Sound off in the comments below, you know we love to hear from you!

  1. Is anyone else having problems login in mine says the ea network cant be reached

  2. I really like how it gives you a Lard Lad if you don’t already have one – as was the case in my B game, I play it totally freemium and hadn’t managed to score one out of a daily challenge mystery box yet. I mean, that makes it a prize worth 110 donuts in that case. Pretty awesome for the lower level/newer players to not have a skin just sit in their inventories for a change!

  3. I have built an Outlands area and the ruined Lard Lad is there. The rest are fine until Halloween when all will be destroyed!!

  4. Is there a reason why we are told to go back and forth from destroying the Ruffians’ Hideout and then rebuilding the playground and fort? Was there supposed to be a payoff? Why doesn’t it tally the damage I inflicted on the hideout correctly?
This reminds me of the Montymort challenge from the Halloween event. ☹️

    • I thought I was losing my ability to count — I sent enough characters to the Ruffian fort to destroy the defenses and then it would still say I needed more. I don’t get it. I’ve started just sending characters to the other two areas instead since Ruffian isn’t quite up to full defensive bonus (saving scraps for the one-off prizes right now).

      • Ditto 😊🇬🇧

      • My theory is that defenses destroyed was never meant to be equal to characters sent. Sometimes a character doesn’t succeed in destroying anything. I mean really, do you think Ralphie is successful every time?!? He trips over his own shoelaces even when barefoot.

There must be a random generator to decide the numbers on each try. Typically for me, all 11 characters sent are successful on the first raid. Then they’re tired out and not all of them manage to destroy anything…

  5. Yep, Ruined Lard Lad effectively ruins the Where’s Maggie game. Not only is she very hard to see in the ruins, but – for me at least – she didn’t make the suck suck noise there so I couldn’t hear her either.

  6. I am going to unlock the Lard Lad Donuts maybe tomorrow 🙂 Gotta use that cool skin also 😀

  7. I’d NEVER had Maggie hide at a Lard Lad before (I have a blue house farm and 80 percent of the time, I find her there). So when I failed to find her recently and didn’t exit the app in time, I was shocked to find her sucking away in the rubble of a Lard Lad, in a part of my town she never goes to.

  8. The Ruined Lard Lad skin makes Where’s Maggie more difficult, in my opinion. It was also frustrating that I had to manually change every one of my lard lads back to the original (no skin) appearance. I also think it looks more like a glitch than an intentional “ruin”.

This felt more like a punishment than a reward.

    • I had to do the same thing- the new Lard Lad was put in inventory automatically while every single Lard Lad in town was automatically switched to ruins. (Most are in one area as a little Lard Lad farm from Mr. Burns’ Mystery Box.) Had to manually change them back. Put the new one with the ruined skin in the Outlands area where the event is being played.

I take a certain route from the factory for Where’s Maggie? to go past all the Lard Lads and other places where Maggie might be hiding, and the new Lard Lad is on that route anyway. So no problems so far. She does like those Lard Lads, though, I often find her there. I don’t have any house farms.

  9. I think I have 5 skins for lard lad which look good with the different versions lined up, not got the retro one yet

  10. This event has been a lot of skins for content we already have. It would have been good if we had new buildings.

  11. I like it, except as a KEM farmer and Mystery Box buyer with around 100 Lard Lads on the edge of my town (plus another 100 or so in storage) all of them got ruined. I kinda wish it had only ruined the original. It took me a while to change most of them back, one at a time.

    • If you use the Christmas decoration lever you can get them all back to normal at once.

Sorry this comes too late for you 🙂 but hope this lets others with many Lard Lads avoid that.

  12. hi Safi =)

  13. I’d only recently gotten a lard lad before this event and it automatically switched to ruined lard lad. It made me panic a little because I thought I’d done something wrong and not taken care or my lard lad…

  14. I like the way it sparkles 😊
