Where Did THAT Come From – Jeremy Jailbird and the Juvenile Correction Facility

Safi here, giving Wookiee a hand with these WDTCF. With WDTCF being a staple of TSTO Addicts, I’ll try to keep as true to the format as possible (by which I mean I’ll copy and paste one of Wookiee’s posts and just change the necessary info). Hope I make the Wookster proud. Enjoy:

In our silly lil game, we sometimes see things pop in that we have no clue as to their Origin. They seem familiar, but we just can’t pinpoint from where. So that is why we decided to make a fun lil reminder out of it. To let you know just Where Did THAT Come From?

It’s Bart Royale time here in all of our tiny tappable towns and this cute thief named Super Safi who’s always stealing the ladies hearts, could not be more thrilled to have a cute thief join our Springfields.

It’s time for one of my favorite parts of being a reader here at this amazing site. That’s right… new stuff for us to talk about just WHERE it all comes from in the Best. Show. Ever. I’m always a fan of new things even though a lot of the coolest things cost precious sprinklies. The 2018 Bart Royale Event started with a battle between the kids and adults of Springfield. And when you think of battling between kids and adults, you have to think of children and their parents. And when you think of Snake as a parent in Springfield, you think of Jeremy. It’s always a pleasure to re-watch episodes of the Best. Show. Ever. For this round of origins, we’ll be taking a look at Most Desired Character Bracket Battle candidate Jeremy Jailbird and the Juvenile Correction Facility:

You have to go back to the year 2000 to catch Jeremy’s introduction into The Simpsons universe.

“Pygmoelian” (S11, E16)

When Bart and Lisa inadvertently let Maggie’s balloon fly away, they chase after it on Lisa’s bike. Once it enters a building, they head in leaving Lisa’s bike unattended. Snake comes and sits his son Jeremy on the bike. As Jeremy pedals, he joyfully announces “Daddy, I’m stealing! I’m stealing”, to which Snake tears up as a proud father and exclaims “Oh, that’s my little dude!”.

“The Seemingly Never-Ending Story” (S17, E13)

In this Emmy nominated episode, on a family outing inside Carl’s Dad Caverns, Homer causes a stalactite to crash into the ground, and he ends up stuck in a hole. While Marge, Bart, and Maggie look for a way out, Lisa stays behind and tells Homer a story about how she was chased by a ram and ended up in Mr. Burns’ attic…where he tells the story of how he loses everything to the Rich Texan and has to work his way back up from the bottom, starting at Moe’s…where he discovers Moe’s story of how he met the perfect woman, Mrs. Krabappel, but the only way he could afford to start a new life with her was to steal a bag of gold coins discovered by the archaeologist Professor Jailbird, who would then commit to a life of crime and be known as Snake.

In the climax, the Rich Texan, Mr. Burns, Moe, and Snake all have a Mexican standoff in the cavern to rightly claim the gold. However, Snake is accompanied by Jeremy, as it’s his day with his son. He tells Jeremy to go play with the other boy (Bart). Jeremy heads over and asks Bart “Do you like Xbox?”.

“Moe Letter Blues” (S21, E21)

When Homer, Apu, and Reverend Lovejoy embark on a trip with their kids on Mother’s Day so their wives can look forward to relaxing themselves, Snake and Jeremy are also seen boarding the ship to Weasel Island.

“Luca$” (S25, E17)

When Snake escapes jail, he hides in Bart’s treehouse. When Bart tells him to leave, Snake says he only committed crimes for his son Jeremy and shows Bart a picture of Jeremy. When Chief Wiggum comes looking for Snake, Bart lies and protects Snake.

“The Yellow Badge of Cowardge” (S25, E22)

When Springfield Elementary has it’s Field Day to celebrate the last day of school, several students take part in the 79th running of the ‘Race Around The School’. Superintendent Chalmers announces, “Lewis is in the lead, followed by Lovejoy’s daughter [Jessica], Fat Tony’s nephew [looks like his son Michael], Brockman’s little girl [Britney], and Jailbird’s kid [Jeremy], and the Frank Sinatra kid – well he’s doing it his way, and rounding out the pack are all the kids we never see.”.

“Walking Big & Tall” (S26, E13)

When Lisa beats out Pharrell Williams to write a new town anthem for Springfield, she and Bart come up with a song called “Why Springfield? Why not!”. At the performance of the song, Jeremy Jailbird and Ralph Wiggum appear to the lyrics “sure, our cops are easily bought”.

“Walking Big & Tall” (S26, E14)

Appearing in back-to-back episodes, Jeremy is seen being dropped off at Springfield Gymnastics with Lisa and Ralph.

Ironically, we never see the Juvenile Correction Facility in the same episode that we see Jeremy in.

“The Wandering Juvie” (S16, E16)

The first and only significant appearance of the building is when Bart scams the town for wedding presents and is sent to the Juvenile Correction Facility. While tethered to female inmate, Gina Vendetti, he escapes the facility. The sign on the building reads “Springfield Juvenile Correctional Facility”, with a sub-sign that reads “Now accepting criminal midgets”.

So there you go… Jeremy Jailbird and the Juvenile Correction Facility. Did you remember these episodes? Any episodes I miss? Splurge your donuts on Jeremy and the Juvenile Correction Facility? Happy Springfield got another Bracket Battle character? Sound off in the comments and happy classy tapping friends.

TTFN… Safi, in for Wookiee, out!

  1. Picked him up and I absolutely love him, he’s just so cute whenever I see him waking around. I really hope they do some more episodes with Jeremy in the future his “do you like Xbox” line in “The Seemingly Never-Ending Story” is one of my favorites, just adorable

  2. I haven’t done his questline yet but I was very excited to grab Jeremy. Great to see a WDTCF post for him because other than him being Snake’s son, obviously, I wasn’t sure what episodes he was in. I sort of had a schedule induced falling out with the Simpsons for several years when it came to first run episodes (so at least now I know what to track down). But I like getting the extended family of characters, and kids especially, so there wasn’t much chance I wasn’t grabbing him in the end.

  3. It’s an unusual choice to pair Jeremy Jailbird and the Juvenile Correction Facility (it could of came with The Warden) together but its not the first time this has happened with characters and buildings. It would of been cool if Gina Vendetti’s tasks at the Springfield Penitentiary moved to the Juvenile Correction Facility since she was from the same episode as this building and this building could be used for the youngsters of Springfield while the Penitentiary can be for the adults. It is still great that we get Jeremy Jailbird in the game but it would be nice if we got more parents for the kids in Springfield. 😀

  4. N.B. If Michael is referred to as “Fat Tony’s nephew” in “The Yellow Badge of Cowardge”, it’s probably because the incumbent Fat Tony is in fact the original Fat Tony’s identical cousin. (Yes, I know, this new Tony and Michael would in fact be 1st cousins once removed, but still…)

  5. Here in the UK I tried a friend request and got an odd error, but I can still play although I did see Bart just now for a brief moment.
I checked another device and couldn’t get past Bart to even load and foolishly tried a part re-install.
Some are affected and some not which is odd and I hoped I’d be able to find a way round it to help those affected.
Normally forcing the game to re-load all the data would find a working server for all the updates but hours later and it’s still trying to do the second of seven before even starting on the hundreds of major content downloads
    – yikes and sorry, I hoped that would be a fix I could post

  6. Nice job here, Safi!

    • Finally, a comment about the post. 🙂 Thanks Jdnibel!

      • Lol – poor Safi, getting all the flack for EA’s server outage on your post. I concur with jdnibel, though, nice job! At first glance I thought this actually was from Wookiee, especially when I got down to the TTFN part. 😉
That being said, next time you are allowed to “be yourself” and not copy another’s style. 🙂

  7. I live in south Carolina and I Connor log in either

  8. No connection since late last night (west coast)

  9. EA server is down .
I know you are getting reports on this all ready .

    🎬🎥🐒 . See ya bye . 👽

  10. I am sorry to leave a comment unrelated to the content, but I am pretty scared. The game logged me out last night, and I can’t log back in. In any of my towns. Same issue – ea network is unavailable at this moment, try later. Does anyone else have this issue too? The ea forums indicate the issue is global, but how wide spread is it? Thank you

  11. Can’t connect to the server…

  12. unrelated:
EA server down for anyone else? I was kicked out of my game last night and haven’t been able to log on since. So close to completing the final task too 🙁

  13. anyone else having connectivity problems this morning?

  14. Hi Tapped Out Comunity
Is it me only or more are affected? I cannot login into my game. I have contac EA but still no reply . Please let me know if others have the same problem. Thanks!

    • I emailed them asking how long the network may be down and what form of compensation they would offer for time lost for generating donuts and got this generic response:;

Let me share with you that EA server will be down for a period of time, and they will be up in a while. We really appreciate your patience and apologies for the inconvenience.
