Should I Spend Donuts on the Damaged Power Plant Bundle?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

The kids of Springfield are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore!  Time for a Battle Royale of epic proportions…kids vs adults.  The soul of Springfield is on the line!   So grab those sprinkles because the store is stocked with battle inspired items to fill your Springfield with!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Damaged Power Plant Bundle to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this nuclear meltdown to your town…

Building/Decoration: Damaged Power Plant Bundle (includes Facades for all 3 components of the Power Plant)
Donut Cost:
55 Donuts
Earns: Nothing
Conform-O-Meter:
N/A

Leaves stores March 7th

Pros
-Different look for the Power Plant
-Comes with some dialogue and an 8hr task for Plant Workers (who already have a task at the power plant…)

Cons
-It’s just a Facade for your Power Plant….one of many.
-Does not earn anything to benefit your Springfield

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
Not a fan.  I don’t like spending donuts for something that literally does nothing and serves no purpose.  Unless you’re obsessed with the damaged look…PASS

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as I premium player, I’m passing.   But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline it comes with….

Safe Power
Smithers starts

Smithers: Sir, the reactor core is failing. We need to evacuate!
Burns: Oh, calm down, you fluttering fancy. The core isn’t in any danger. I sold off the radioactive material after the last time that nincompoop Simpson dropped a rod down his shirt.
Smithers: But, then how are we supplying the town with power?
Burns: We’re simply reselling the spare power those hippies and their fancy solar panels are generating. Now, get back to work and make it look like we’re operating a dangerous nuclear facility!

What are your thoughts on the Damaged Power Plant Bundle?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

Really considering this in a new area with all the event stuff and making a mad max ruined area but trying to save for some presidents when they become available, really hope ea has a president event planned with a few PMS from around the world

  2. Mr_Martypants

I LOVE this facade. I already had a nuclear exclusion zone around my power plant, so this was exactly what I needed. 55D? Ha! Bargain!

  3. I guess I’m one of the few that agrees with Alissa…Not a fan. Especially for 55 donuts.

  4. I have Facades for Christmas / some for Valentines Day / etc… but there really has been nothing for Halloween.

I am getting all of the facades of this event to only use during the Halloween events each year.

I love having a different look for each holiday

I also feel that this should have been a prize or craftable…I like it but not enough to spend that many donuts on it. I’m also very picky with my donuts lol ☺ Happy tapping and have a lovely day everyone!

  6. I’m kind of over all of the facades in this event tbh. I might have gone for it even for more doughnuts just to fill in this event area.

  7. My favorite look for the power plant. I bought it right away and love it.

  8. Meh, pass on this one even though I’ve been a completest to this point. To echo what others have said, I’m not going to rearrange my town for this one event and the cascade of building skins is lame. Have restored Courthouse, Lardlad & Jebediah statue to original appearance.

  9. I saw the cooling towers in a friend’s town and I like the look, but I’m still on the fence. Agree that this should have been a prize, though.

  10. Anyone know what’s in the St.Patrick’s Day Mystery Box? Because I’m very tempted to get this.

    • That would require there to be a St. Patrick’s Day Mystery Box…..it’s still WAY too early

    • I’m hoping it’s the same as last year.

      • EA might do the same for the St. Pat’s Mystery Box as what they did on the Valentine’s Day Mystery Box this year and include the items from last year’s box and add some more newer content with it i.e. Le Krusty Burger and Dia-Betty. They could even do a mini event on St. Patrick’s Day since this event ends 10 days before St. Patrick’s Day.

  11. I also bought it to use during Halloween. Hopefully there is a Halloween this year. The neon green ooze is pretty and the damaged building including a help me note is nice too.

  12. As a completionist I want to say yes….but…..eeeeh

  13. Finally a skin I may use beyond this event

  14. I like the idea of this facade, and I am a fan of the damaged look of things. I feel that they should have offered this sort of thing as prizes or craftables, rather than for donuts.

  15. Too many facades this event. Either buildings or get out. I don’t want to mess up my Springfield by moving buildings to the Outlands, and damaged buildings don’t make sense in regular Springfield.

  16. I did,,,not a huge regret. I figured it would be good at Halloween time. I like how the neon green looks. I put the power plant back to normal. I’m guessing that’s about the only time all these damaged facades will be used,,,make the town zombified next October.

    • That’s a great idea. They could release a switch to turn on all damaged buildings – like the switch to activate all Christmas lights and spy stuff! I’m liking this more each time I think about it.

      • Me too…changed to the skin for this event and moved my towers to a new area away from the center of my town. When I first placed them, they were on the edge of town…now the town has grown so much that they were almost in the town center. Was time for a change, and this worked well. Now they’re out by the prison, the Slag Hold and the Tar Pits…they seem much happier there😁.

        • Hmm, very interesting. I hadn’t thought about moving the power plant — it’s been in the same spot since 2013 — but you’ve got me thinking.

      • I hope they do something like that because for long time players it’s easy to forget everything that we have. I’ve seen stuff in neighbors towns that I’m like hey that’s really neat,,,, that I’m sure I have buried somewhere!

    • Janet Rodriguez

Well damn, I wasn’t going to buy it and now you come up with a great idea. Ok. I’m purchasing it.
