Another day, another update! In addition to a mini update hitting our games, we’ve also got ourselves an episode tie-in carry over going on. Yesterday, Manacek hit our games for a limited-time…from Sunday’s new episode of The Simpsons
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Brick Townhomes and Manacek to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this scotchy duo to your town…

-Expensive for a just introduced, and likely never heard of again, character combo
Final Thought
Premium:
Your standard Building/Character combo these days. It’s hard because it’s a just introduced character, so there’s no real attachment to him (or fond episode memories to look back on). But if you’re one who loves character combos, why not pick this one up? Otherwise pass and save donuts for more memorable characters.
Freemium:
I’d pass on this duo. Save your donuts for better, more memorable, characters down the road. (especially with a new event likely around the corner)
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m luke warm on this one. I may end up picking it up before it’s gone from our stores. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

I was not going get Manacek but after watching the episode he grew on me and I decided to pull the trigger.

I was just about to watch our recorded episode to see if I wanted the character and it’s already out of the store! That’s seems ridiculously short sighted! They didn’t even wait until tonight to take it down?
Seeing Mancheck (Banachek) started me thinking…boy, have things changed for leading men on TV since the 70’s. How many of these out of shape and over 40 (over 50?) leading men would get a series today?
Dragnet, Quincy, Kojak, Hawaii Five-O, Columbo, Mannix, Barnaby Jones, Baretta, McCloud, Cannon, Rockford Files, Ironside, Harry-O, and of course The Streets of San Francisco. We girls could at least look forward to Magnum every week and Miami Vice had Don Johnson, but otherwise, there wasn’t a lot of male eye-candy back then. Some things have definitely changed for the better.👍😁
Is there a limit to how many townhouses you can buy, or is it one of each design only?
I’m not really excited about this offer now, so I’m not going to buy it ……. I doubt I’ll get excited about it in the future also …… So if EA decides to offer Manacek again, I hope they do NOT put him in a mystery box, where I might end up getting him in a roll of the dice (mystery box gambling)…… Hope he reappears separately in the future, with players having power to decide if they want to buy him or not
Having said that, Im waiting anxiously for Amber Dempsey & Mary Spuckler to re-appear (hopefully) this year. I didnt buy them last September, because I decided that I will wait for them to come back at a rebate or in a mystery box at cheaper price. I hope my waiting gamble pays off = ))
The homes work nicely up against the monorail pieces. Just enough visibility to make it look like there is a subway on stilts. You can easily integrate this with some of the more brick and mortar looking buildings for a downtown effect. I’ve bought 4 so far and may do a couple more since their payout is always welcome.
This one is kind of neat because once I spend the 140 for the combo you can buy any extra townhouses for 10 donuts each. Had a perfect spot in town for 3 townhouses!
I got this for the building, what a disappointment. Ridiculously scaled, no bigger than bart’s tree house. Massive waste of donuts
I agree. Normally you can see the scale before you buy it, but this time they screwed us. Some buildings are so huge as well (condos, hardware store, cracker factory) I’ve never placed the geriatric building because it’s too small. Cmon it’s not that hard to get the scale correct.
Will the ability to buy new townhouses for $10 vanish when he is no longer available in the store? Less than 3 days left at the moment.

This is both a good buy and a bad buy: with it being a good buy you can get a character and building for 150 donuts which is the average price of a character/building combo and you can get extra Townhomes for 10 donuts each that is probably the cheapest price you can pay for a premium building you can get multiples of.
With the purchase being bad the character is probably a one off and unvoiced and considering the Townhomes cost 10 donuts each that must mean that the character would cost 140 donuts on his own which is a high price for a character (though Sherri & Terri cost 150 but they earn double of the amount a premium character earns), also the building improves vanity when it should be indolence considering its a home.
I will pass on this purchase because using Alissa advice on previous SIB posts characters & building or character & decoration combos “anytime a character and building cost 100 donuts or less it is a must buy” so I will wait for it to return at a more lower price (also saving donuts for the next event) and I don’t know where to put the Townhomes in my town if I did buy it.
I crafted a big bunch of townhouses in another event and it’s fun to have a big apartment complex that pays out all at once. I put a bunch of crafted spooky houses on one edge and spooky cabins on another as low-income housing….
I put his building in my Paris/amore area by she-she lounge, Snuggle Inn and Sleazy motel cuz he’s a perv.
*Gag* please give us someone….ANYONE relevant to my nostalgia for this show!
Hi everybody, Manacek is decent buy with slick animations (if you have plenty of donuts from KEM Farming like me) and he is not directly connected to the building. So you can that ugly buildings “Bricks Townhome” hide and use him for 8 and 4 hours long job.
Wish all my character/building combos could be split…so many buildings I’d like to store, but don’t want to lose the character🙁
ha, i think the opposite. would love the option of to buy buildings without characters (for a cheaper price). these townhomes are super unique so i ended up buying and now i have another character roaming around that i don’t care at all about.
