As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Returning Cesar and Ugolin, Francesca and the Italian Villa, Gino and It’s A Wonderful Knife or the First Bank of Springfield to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your town…
First just a note about Johnny Tightlips and Molloy…they’re not returning items (they’re vault items) and I’ve covered them in multiple places, so I’m not covering them here. You can find Should I Buy Info on them here for Johnny and here for Molloy. They BOTH help with the event and w/ the rebate are a GREAT price. You SHOULD buy them!

What Does It Do: 2 Independant Characters for Springfield
My Opinion On It Now: 100 donuts for 2 characters isn’t a bad price (although they were originally free). However, they do not help with the event. So if you like them I’d wait. They’re not leaving the store any time soon…so wait until the event is just about over to grab them. That way you can be sure you have plenty of donuts saved for items that do help with the event.

What Does It Do: Standard premium character/building combo.
My Opinion On It Now: This is another one that does not help with the event. However, she’s at that magic 100 donuts price point I always talk about. Any time you can get a character and building combo for right around 100 donuts you should grab it.

What Does It Do: Joint task for Homer & Marge there
My Opinion On It Now: Eh just a building. If your Springfield doesn’t have a bank you may want to grab it, but otherwise it’s just a building I’d pass. Lots more goodies coming up….

Both Terwilliger Combos are totally worth it (more so then Pompeii Ruins, Colosium – my opinion) 🦄😊
I had the Italian Villa and It’s a Wonderful Knife (IAWK) since they were first released. I have IAWK on the Squidport where it seems to belong and I like that Wise Guy can animate it with his task though if Gino or the other Terwilligers had a task here then it would of been even better. 🔪 Over the last 3 years of owning the Italian Villa it was difficult for me to design it since there was not many Italian themed items, until this event came and released some more Italian items that can work with the Villa such as the Grand Canals and Terrace Houses, the Stonecutter walls also work well with the Villa along with some fruit trees, patio tables and Squidport Lights, I want to add a fountain outside the Villa but I don’t know which one would look good with the Italian Villa. 🇮🇹 😕🏡🇮🇹
I regret purchasing the Bank when it was first available because of the joint task with Homer and Marge there though if EA releases Dwight Diddlehopper and he has a task here then I wouldn’t regret it so much. :D🏦
I bought both Francesca and Gino. I’m very pleased with the purchase. I’d been eyeing them up on previous occasions but this time, the stars aligned.
I got Molloy right away as I had over 400 donuts and he’s a great deal. Also got the bank to give Springfielders some variety.
Affordable Character with Building combos are worthy (especially those discounted now by EA)
Character(s) originally obtained as Freemium(s) AND Building(s) that were originally Freemium(s)? That’s not worth the Sprinkles, EA
I keep waiting and waiting for Dr Robert Terwilliger to come back. I started playing halfway through the Terwillger event and it was the only character I missed out on…so if you’re scanning the comments EA please bring back Dr Robert, I’ll pay good donuts for him!!

Has anyone else noticed the money collection animation is gone? It used to move towards the lower left and “go into” your totals, now it just disappeares
I suppose EA removed that because the money and XP moving to their respective counters takes up much computing power.
2 characters for 100 donuts is way better than 1 character and a building for 100 donuts.
I agree… the way EA is being so stingy with land, characters are a much better investment.

No it does not
I’ve been waiting for Gino to come back around, no hesitation. Also was kind of bummed at first that Cesar and Ugolin are “freemium” payout. But if you look at it as one character that pays 200% then the price really isn’t that bad. I’ll be picking them up before is over.
I grabbed Francesca while I could. I just missed out on Doctor Turwilliger in the Turwilliger Event and if he is ever offered as a premium character I’d gladly buy him.
I already had all but Francesca and picked her up immediately with no regrets ☺ I’m loving this event and can’t wait to see what else is down the line! I like how EA is doing the crafting this time around too! ☺ Thanks for all you do, Addicts!!! Have a lovely day!! ☺
Cesar and Ugolin still have regular payouts, even though they are now premium. It seems like they stopped upgrading characters to premium even though they now cost donuts.
The Terwilligers make a hilarious performance at The Open Air Theatre 🎭

I got the open air theater because of this post, but I don’t see a task for them there. How do you get them to perform there?
They all have a separate 6 hour task to perform there: “Perform at the Opera”

Ohhh, the opera open stage. There is annother performance stage called “open air stage” that just happened to appear in my vault this week, so I grabbed it, but there wasn’t a Terwilliger act. But yes, I see the tasks, and the Terwilligers are Terwilligering on the opera open stage now. Thanks!

Thanks for posting this link and addressing the issue. It’s a real problem for me too. Many times it happens about three times in a row in a span of two minutes. Quite annoying. Hopefully it gets resolved soon.

I read the post about the advertisements I don’t have the problem everyone else is having just did not understand the post I guess if I click on a advertisement that makes the blog money I am hoping so as I started clicking on one a day and letting the add run I listen to them. But my question is that what helps pay for the blog. You all are doing a great job on here I love this site and if clicking on a advertisement helps keep this site going I will click more. Thank you Alissa and company. For doing all you do for all of us out here playing the game so we understand how to play.
I use the app but never see the abrasive ads that everyone talks about. I mean the ads are still there but no as insane as people say
