Let the heisting begin! The latest event in Springfield, The Springfield Job, is all about pulling off elaborate Heists…well not too elaborate Homer is involved…in a bet between two Nuclear Power Plant owners.
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Colosseum to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Gladiator Death Oval to your town…

Premium or Freemium:
I’d pass on this no matter your player status. It’s overpriced for what it is/does. The payout isn’t great, not worth the 100 donuts you’ll have to shell out for it.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m passing. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now). Plus this is one of those items that’ll help with the event, so if you’re planning on getting it do it sooner rather than later….

This is going to be one of those events… I can’t say no to anything, love all the “international” stuff they throw at us. Rome, Pompeji and Venice are definitely on my “to visit” list, so far I only made it to northern Italy. Not that the lakes and mountains are not great, but Italy needs ruins… 🙂
Getting this , Pompeii, and Pope. Why? My kid is currently in Spain and he is going to Italy next. He will get a laugh out of it.
Don’t like the look of this, animation sounds meh!!!, some gladiators in the ring would be better, to pricey, to big, pass for me
How can you hear the animation sounds, without buying it?

I bought the Pope bc I liked the building and it said he helps…. unfortunately he doesn’t appear on the list of ppl to start. Should I contact EA 👎 or just go threw with his missions?
My guess is he won’t help until Act 2.

The Colosseum was an instant buy! I love the ‘Little Italy’ with canals, gondolas and iconic Italian buildings. I have placed them between my ‘Little France’ and ‘Little Japan’. I am loving the ability to design canals with buildings – nice to see new creative content like this, thanks EA.
Honestly, I bought it prematurely, because I’ve recently grown accustomed to immediately snagging all of the event payout add-ons… I wouldn’t have bothered in this case, if I’d paid closer attention to the payout. (So I completely agree with your assessment, Alissa.)
Is the Colosseum the only building that generates crafting currency or is there a returning building like the Battle Dome from the Bart Royale event that also generates crafting currency?

Rebuilding my donut collection so this is a pass.
I want this! It just looks cool and different. I’ll have to think about it for a while, though. It may come back in a mystery box, but then I’ll spend twice as much trying to get it the item I want.

Is it worthwhile storing it up now to spend on Act 2 items or will the crafting currency change for Act 2?

Crafting currency never changes throughout an event. It remains the same for all Acts. So yes, once you’ve got 20% bonus save it for act 2

For some reason … I got offer for Duff Gardens and the Lizard Queen. No Colosseum. My game started going through event notices from 2016, and now I have a pieman task in my task bar. Also noticed when a task is done clicking on char icon with green check mark does nothing. Wha?

I’m torn on this one but most likely will pass because of the high price, same with the 300 donut characters, even though I’d really like to get them lol. I’ve picked up some other stuff during this event that makes me happy so no worries : )
Worried about the space needed for it…doesn’t really go with the Venice vibe either. I bought the Pompeii ruins and kinda wish I had passed, so I think this time I’ll wait for the rerun.
I put the Pompeii ruins next to stonehenge in my nature area. It can work.
I ended up storing some sci-fi items so I could place it near my Venice area. Had to make room for act 2 anyway, so it worked out ok😁.

Having been there, it was an instant-buy for me. There’s the ever-present problem of relative scale, but I had to have it! No regrets.

It could be be, but I caved in. After so serious remodeling the Colosium will be a part of SOAM (Springfield Open Air Museum)
I would love it! But….. can’t afford it! So I will pass. I spent 50on the treasure box and got the Himeji Castle, happy with it, fits in with my Japanese temples.
I bought this but I wanted to expand my cultural section.
Same here. I like it next to my museums and Arc de Triomphe. The cultural section of town is finally filling out. The ONLY redeeming quality of this event.
