Not sure why this is happening, but Springfield Heights has reset itself in my game twice this week. All characters’ ability to earn SH crafting currency has been reset, and have to be unlocked, yet again.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
Lost 5Mil game cash, ive accidentally sent cecil for the 5M task so i cancelled it by putting him in my inventory. When i brought him back out ive lost the money and the task didnt pushthrough.
So KEM farming has officially put me off the deep end.
Now, in my ocean, since it was in my vault – pause for a big drum intro, with some heavy bass – A (discount) WHALE.
There will only be one, but it has been done.

Well EA finally fixed make Homer buy champagne on my task list. They bumped it up to part 5 and gave me 50 donuts. This allowed me to complete it.
Was just playing around with some designs and decided to try adding trenches to the obstacle course…they fit perfectly😁

Anyone else having problems selecting people on TSTO, usually the character in top left allows you to cycle through everyone and go directly to people when they have completed a task. Since this update I can no longer do this. Also the pie man quest has restarted and I also got confirmation of other previous tasks “completing themselves” Also you could continually do the rail yard tasks now it’s gone to a weekly format that says all tasks completed for the week. Is this the same for others?
You have the Rollback Glitch that has been talked about on this site a lot (do a search if you want to catch up). Last I heard from others on this site is that EA says they are close to a fix.

Apologies to all my neighbours for not dropping off more criminals, but I just don’t get a lot. Since the beginning of the event, I get maybe 1 or 2 a day. On exceptional days, it might increase to 4 or 5, but it never is enough to go around; mostly it is not even enough to reciprocate for the ones I get…
That’s so weird. I’ve gotten at least 100. I have 50 right now getting ready to be sent out.
I’m not getting very many either.
The amount I’m getting is almost exactly the same as you, I usually only get 1 or 2, the most I get is 3 a day.
Sorry to my neighbours who I have not been able to send criminals to. 🙁
Maybe it is randomly selected with the amount each person gets.

As a tip for everyone,(neighbours and non neighbours) who may not have thought of checking Springfield Heights (I myself didn’t until I saw them land there in my neighbours town/s)
Will crafting currency change with the start of act 2?
No. Just the main currency. So, start stockpiling!

I gotta a question for anyone wanting to help I’m thinking about nuking my town after the event. Now my question is if I were to do that would it erase all of my Springfield Heights stuff.. like the amount of items I’ve accustomed ex. Trophys or furniture? Thank-you.
I think it just stores all your placed items…it shouldn’t affect any earned items, cash, xp% etc.😁
Finally an upside to getting the rollback glitch: every time it hits my town, it resets my craftables, so I can craft a new land tile. 🙂
This whole time EA has just been finding away to fix their land tile error without admitting they were wrong! they are going around and letting everyone get tiles to claim the land! At least, that’s a theory…. A conspiracy theory!

Yay! I finally got back in!
Every time I get one of those ‘send Springfielders’ quests, I really feel like strangling someone from EA. If I get a quest that I don’t want to commit my entire town to, I have to scroll through EVERY character and assign tasks to them manually. Which really isn’t fun when you have close to 250 characters in your town and need to spend nearly 20 minutes doing just that. I really dread it whenever I buy or unlock a new character, and I get such tasks.They should just fix it so that once you’ve assigned the requisite amount of characters to the tasks, you can assign everyone else their usual tasks through the unemployment office.
TSTO really needs a quality of life and optimization patch. I bought a new phone last week, and the game wasn’t running any better. In fact, it’s been gradually running worse progressively. When I first started the game during the original Stonecutters event, I was getting pretty smooth play from my phone at that time 4 years ago. Granted, then my town was a lot smaller. But now the game is so sluggish that it takes like a good minute or two after I’ve completely cleared my town for all the money and XP to disappear.
Some changes that I’d really like to see are:
– Have TSTO be optimized to eat less resources and just run smoother. It runs worse than 3D games, for pity’s sake.
– What I said above about ‘send Springfielders’ and similar bulk tasks.
– A one-button collect option. I don’t care if it costs 10k per use. It takes me about 10-15 minutes to clear out my town now, and if I need to assign every character to their tasks manually, that’s another 20-25 minutes on top of it. That’s an unreasonable amount of time for a game which I only want to check every 4 hours.
– Provide solo alternatives for joint tasks like how they did previously for characters like Barbarian, Rod and Todd, Rex Banner and Bernice Hibbert.. Based on what I’m seeing, I suspect I’m really going to hate Nana Mussolini who has joint 4 and 8 hour tasks with Milhouse and Kirk.
– Fix the unemployment office so that if regular characters have a premium task that overlaps with a non-premium one of the same duration, they would be assigned the premium task instead.
– Unemployment office will also fast clear joint tasks.
Truthfully, at this point TSTO feels more like a chore than a game, and I’m seriously considering quitting if nothing is done to improve the quality of life.
Why don’t you just send characters amounting in the number of needed ones for the task, followed by all that aren’t considered “Springfielders” via the Unemployment Office and let it be. It annoyed me as well and I decided that these (occasional!) buld jobs aren’t worth my time in relation to the results of completed tasks.
Regarding joint tasks, it seems like the Unemployment Office goes through the list of characters in a specific order when assigning jobs. This order is apparently the order in which the characters were added to the game and storing/placing them changes this order, putting them at the end of the list. Therefore, putting characters like Stampy or Mr. Teeny into storage and pull them out again will leave them unoccupied after sending all their “partner” characters on their solo jobs. I, for example, can send all characters on 12h jobs, except for Stampy, Teeny and Princess Penelope, then send them all on 8h jobs with a second tap. Done.
I’m starting to do that, but sometimes those ‘send Springfielders’ task come when I’m about to call it a night and send everyone to 8 hours’ tasks, and it turns out to be a 1-hour task. I get about 900K from my town’s 8-hour tasks, so it sucks when I have to decide between spending 20 odd minutes assigning everyone to their tasks, or lose a good chunk of income.
From a technical perspective, these things are easy to fix. All EA needs to do is set an option that allows you to ignore quests and use the unemployment office as usual. Alternatively, EA can just be less lazy in their quest design and designate specific characters for the task. They already do it with their events quests anyway, so why not extend it to general quests? It’s honestly aggravating when I buy an old character and they get multiples of these tasks in their quest chain.
I would seriously love an auto collect button. I have 280 characters and some days I’ll skip collecting because it takes so long.
I know that I am way behind on learning this, but someone give me the run down on how to KEM farm? I know it works for some people but I’m nervous to spend the donuts on the cup collider. Please help!

If you’re just starting out, get only one day of the XP Collider. Don’t feel you have to get 10 days or whatever the max is. With just a day you’ll be able to get a feel for what your returns will be with it on.

@alissa… I could be wrong, but I’ve never seen a post about WordPress other than the “they do the ads” thing. I’ve only recently signed up to WordPress (about 2 weeks ago) and it has made my tsto blog experience significantly better. The content posted by you and the team has always been what draws me, but there is something to be said for actually signing up to WordPress (ok, I’m gonna shut up now, after my punting for samsung anti apple and now this, I’m starting to sound like an advert 😳, I’m an analyst but I swear I never went to Cambridge!!! 😉 )
LOL…nay… I don’t boot people for not visiting my town. I boot for not playing. My rule is 8-10 weeks. But, my last purge, I only blew up people that hadn’t logged on for at least 6 months. I was shocked at the number, frankly.
I am going to make the videos a regular part of the Friday Filler…and have spent that last few days visiting new neighbors, who have sent me their town designs. There are some amazing ones out there!
Yay!! I’m really looking forward to seeing the vids! I ❤️ cool design ideas, not just 3D (don’t have space, I admire, but can’t “copy”) creative use of the random stuff we’ve earned (especially the big footprint, useless items). If ea gets their butts in gear and actually let’s us design (including all the green stuff and decos that design implies, yes that means more than this ridiculous “item limit”!) I would love to do more!
And hear ya on “inactive” friends… though some I have a hard time letting go of…. for example; MrsDonDraper and MarkMilton.. been on my friends list for years, but don’t wanna dump them…. does anyone know what’s happened to them? Did they quit? Were they abducted by rigellians? Did they catch a non return shuttle to Krustyland?

My rant of the week against apple… it’s been a couple of months rant irl, but this week I’m putting it out in the universe.
My “new” iPad is no more. Apple finally agreed to replace it (under warranty) with a turnaround time of ordering new stock, “7-10 working days”. Holidays extend that to who knows what. So here I am, dealing with something that I never thought would affect me so deeply…. realizing that a brand I’ve loved for years… the loyalty is gone.
Last week I bought a new phone… Samsung galaxy8 note. Loving it! It’s what I’m playing tsto on at the moment. The screen size not as good as the new iPad, the performance not as good as the new iPad, but compare to my iPhone, its amazing! And it has a few other things going for it..
My other apple devices work fine, but apple no longer support them (so stuck on old iOS version, which is starting to cause compatibility issues with my games). Android supports all those games. *win*!
My apple devices need “battery upgrades” (old news yes I know), but apple wants ME to pay for them. I need to pay for your mistakes? *thumbs down*
It has a built in s-pen… for someone who takes copious amounts of notes and prefers to do so using good ol fashioned handwriting, not text typing, that s-pen is amazing! Contrast the R1000 I spent on the apple pen…. the thing has a random little gadget that I need to use to charge it, I don’t know where to put it so I don’t lose it. When I plug the pen in to charge… it sticks out from my device at a 90degree angle… awkward! When not in use… where do I put the damn pen? (Unlike the s-pen which slots neatly into my device).
I’ve been doing hardcore kem farming this event (these ridiculously long, log in every 4 hour events are right up there with my hatred of apple at the moment. Ok, maybe not quite same league, but still intense severe dislike). The pen handles it beautifully. I build around 200 kems in 10mins. Oh the donuts *dreamy face*
I’m not a designer, I’m not in marketing, I know nothing about UI other than that I work in IT where others keep telling me “it matters”. Now I see what they mean!
Last year I bought a new mac book pro, the one with the touch bar… I fell in love instantly! It was like apple were finally going back to solid good design principles, things that felt intuitive in design, then along came the new iPad, costing an arm and a leg, but with a bigger screen than the old, yet designed with edges that assume you’re holding it like a phone, all fingers and thumbs, accidentally pushing stuff, thank god for the “confirm to spend donuts” button actually appearing in the middle of the screen.
So here I am, typing on my old ipad (WordPress can’t handle “writing” like my samsung can, and besides, none of you would be able to read my handwriting), and looking around: I’m surrounded by apple products! In more than 10 years, I haven’t bought a single device that was NOT apple. And my fav new gadget is android?? *gasp, shock, horror*
What is bugging me is the destruction of brand loyalty, in such a short time. Patric is in marketing, he could say way more than me about it, but I’ve found it a kick in the gut to realize that I’ve gone from love to hate… a position that is going to be so much more difficult to reverse.
It also makes me wonder…. if EA keep on not listening to players… could they face a similar fate?
I’m disappointed in apple, worried ea might go same way of destroying loyalty
On a side note…. searched for my MIA gnome on ( or is that “in” 😉 ) the galaxy… no luck. Maybe an 🐙 ate him!

I’m in the eastern Cape in Grahamstown. Our water is dire but not as bad as your situation. Being so much smaller than CT/Strand a few good rains here and we’ll be ok for a few more months whereas you guys need good rain for a few years to come right. Plus we have a backup system from the Fish River which can provide some water so we won’t go without even if we only have every 2nd or 3rd day…
Here’s hoping the winter rains hit you hard this year 😄

Quick question – does anyone have a recommendation for a good app to auto stitch TSTO screenshots? I have read bunny’s amazing post but sadly Autostitch isn’t available anymore. I’ve tried a few free apps that have been terrible at stitching pictures. Happy to pay but would be grateful for a recommendation before I part with my cash!

I use Photoshop Mix. It takes awhile to resize the pics to get them to line up right but overall it’s not a bad app.

I used to use AutoStitch on my phone but I think that when it updated to iOS 11 AutoStitch stopped working. However, I was still able to install it on my iPad 2 as it only has iOS 9.something. So if you have access to a device with an older operating system (I think it still worked with iOS 10 but stopped with iOS 11 but can’t be 100% sure) you may still be able to install it and use it?
If you can still install it somewhere there was also a free version that you could use to test it out before spending money.
Unfortunately I haven’t found anything else that worked as well for stitching pictures…
