Springfield Jobs – Prize Guide – Leaning Tower

We are being sent round the world once again, in hopes of collecting art, buildings and artifacts relating to some of the finest artistic capitals in the world (sorry Australia).  There are a TON of items to be won and crafted, and we are here to cover some of the benefits for winning them, which can linger long after the event is over!

The 6th Prize to be awarded is the Leaning Tower!
Let’s take a look!

Well…there are some prizes that are great, and some that end up just sitting there. This is more the latter, unless you are really into old architecture that was poorly designed.  Based on the ORIGINAL leaning tower (of Pisa), it is one of those buildings that may or may not fit into your Springfield after the event is over…and should probably have been called the “Pizza Tower” with quests for Homer and Barney to eat there.  But, I digress…

The actual tower was a design mess from almost the start. According to Wiki: “The tower’s tilt began during construction in the 12th century, caused by an inadequate foundation on ground too soft on one side to properly support the structure’s weight. The tilt increased in the decades before the structure was completed in the 14th century. It gradually increased until the structure was stabilized (and the tilt partially corrected) by efforts in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.”

Those were some really, really, stubborn Italians!  “Hey Joe…that tower is’a leanin’ big time! We need to take it down and start over again. What? Fat Tony owns that land and wants it here?  OK…looks’a good to me…if you turn’a your head sideways like’a dis!”

So…you get the tower after collecting 22,120 paintings. Hey…maybe the paintings are stored in the top of the tower…maybe that’s why it leans!!

So as I mentioned, you have a choice with this one. Place it or store it…it doesn’t really help with the Event.

  1. Upright Tower of Pisa (because the Simpsons encourage everything to be upright versus leaning, unless drunk (lol) – I’m enjoying this free Building that generates Simpson $ and XP and post build Simpsons Family members attempting to lean the tower Task (I wish that was permanent, but Willlie’s permanent Task is fine). I think this takes up less space than the Eiffel Tower last year, yes it is a tall Building, so grateful it is not a Building Skin (thanks EA)!👍😊

  2. Anybody a fan of lame jokes. Imo the worlds funniest joke and the worlds lamest joke are on par.

I do know the worlds funniest joke ever told! I might share it here someday.

For now..here’s a lame one. Why does the Leaning Tower of Pisa lean? Because it’s Italic.

  3. I really like that the Italian items are not difficult to design. I have mainly added nature related items around the Cathedral and the Leaning Tower with the Outdoor Opera Stage from the Terwilligers update a few years ago. I have no idea what to do with the Terrace Houses and Grand Canals yet since I got them around the Museum to keep the bonus active but might move them around after I get Nana Mussolini. It would of been good if the flag was added on the tower in the game and that characters other than Willie has a permanent task here because how many 4 hour tasks does Willie actually need. 😀

  4. Just a reminder everybody…start saving your daily tasks tomorrow for act 2. You can complete the tasks, just don’t collect your rewards until after act 2 starts…you will then be paid in the new currency.

  5. I thought the Italian dialogue was hilarious. I’m a polock who grew up laughing at polish jokes at the dinner table.

Living near San Francsico, we have our own Leaning Tower
    a.k.a The Millennium Tower.
Beautiful views and floors that marbles roll across.
    multi million dollar apartments
Built on bay fill 1849er ships abandoned and later built on and mud pile on top to create bay front property.
San Francsico is a crazy city
~40 years ago the Bank of America Bldg dunk piers about 140feet deep into bedrock. The Trans America pyramid laid a ~20 foot thick solid slab of concrete as a base. They haven’t leaned at all.

  7. Funny how everyone can make fun of the Italians and their dialect, but for any other race or religion it becomes hate speech.

    • As an Italian, and my grandfather came here as a young man…it doesn’t phase me. If you can’t laugh at yourself you shouldnt laugh at anyone else.
Plus, I think it’s a compliment more than anything.
Also, Italian isn’t a race or a religion…It’s a nationality (or ethnicity). And the Simpsons and TSTO make fun of loads of nationalities..

    • Apu…

  8. During a visit to Pisa, we climb the Tower. There is a great view from the top of it. We couldn’t descend for more than a half hour, a German got stuck on the top stairs because of his high buoyancy.
(He had the same buoyancy as Comic Book Guy 😂)
