Should I Spend Donuts on Arthur Fortune and Fortune Megastore?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Let the heisting begin! The latest event in Springfield, The Springfield Job, is all about pulling off elaborate Heists…well not too elaborate Homer is involved…in a bet between two Nuclear Power Plant owners.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Arthur Fortune and Fortune Megastore to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this money tossing combo to your town…

Character(s): Arthur Fortune
Building/Decoration:
Fortune Megastore
Donut Cost:
145 Donuts
Size:
10×8
Earns:
$135, 15xp/4hrs
Conform-O-Meter:
Consumerism +10
Can Be Placed:
grass|pavement|boardwalk|pier|dirt

Leaves stores April 17th

Pros
-Comes with a questline (which can wait until the event is over to complete)
-A couple of amusing visual tasks, including a flying one
-Will use Megastore for tasks
-Can do heists for this event
-Voiced
-Corner building for Springfield, which is always nice

Cons
-Both animated tasks are essentially the same action, throwing money.
-Pricey for a one-off character in Springfield

Somewhere in the Middle
-His visual 4hr task is a flying task, like Arnie.  I know for some this is a pro but for some, this is a con.

Final Thought
Premium:
I’m a fan of this combo.  Not a big fan of the price, but I like the look of the building and I like Arthur.  So if you like it grab it, otherwise pass.

Freemium:
Freemium players, unless you really really love it…pass.  There are better items to spend your donuts on (Westminster Abbey is one).  I’d pass on Arthur, at least for now.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I picked this one up.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at his tasks…

Arthur Fortune’s Permanent Tasks:

Task Length  Earns Location
Miss His Megastores 1hr $105, 26xp Megastore
Dollars For Everyone 4hrs $260, 70xp Outside/Visual Flying Task
Drink and Babysit 4hrs $260, 70xp Boiled Potato
Hand Out Dollars 8hrs $420, 105xp Outside/Visual Roof of Megastore
Workshop Next Personal Achievement 12hrs $600, 150xp Megastore
Deduct Donations from Taxes 24hrs $1000, 225xp Megastore

And for those wondering where that balloon came from on the Splash Screen…it’s the flying vessel for Arthur’s 4hr task….

What are your thoughts on Arthur and his Megastore?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring them to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed the Megastore in your Springfield?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. 145 Sprinkles for Arthur Fortune with the Fortune Megastore is a bargain!👍

What better way to celebrate the fact that Sir Richard Branson purchased the Hard Rock Hotel here in Las Vegas (and will be rebranding it as a Virgin Resort)🍹

  2. Unique character. I need money so he really appeals to me right now (even if his money is virtual currency). Likely getting.

  3. I was already pretty sure I wasn’t going to get him. I’m already having issues designing new areas, and I have nowhere to put this building.

I don’t mind flying tasks now that they’re less invasive, but I don’t need another 4hr flying task.

I’ll be fine with getting him at a discount later, or in a box.

  4. The game took all but 11 of my donuts (not getting any help in recovering them), so won’t be buying anything any time sone.

  5. This made me feel better about getting Jessica Lovejoy instead. Thanks.

  6. I am thinking about buying this.
On another note, the first act I was 4 days ahead and now this act I will be 8 days ahead. That means ?I am getting lots of bonus donuts. So cool. 👍

  7. I kinda like this one, still haven’t decided yet.
Not too hip on the Westminster Abbey because of the large footprint.

  8. I pass. With the donut drain i had for buying JDR i don’t even have the donuts anymore. Maybe some bargains will come up

  9. Chart shows he has two 4 hour tasks. Which one is triggered by sending him on a 4 hour job with the Office of Unemployment?

For the record, I’m PRO-flying things now that the teleport issue has been fixed/removed.

  10. bought him right after EA fixed him so he can earn event currency. I love this character even if he’s a one off and he’s voiced!

  11. Woohoo 😊 bonus, I’d know idea about his tasks when I snapped him up as soon as he became available. I’m glad he’s now earning event currency 😊

  12. I bought him as I have an idea on how to fit the building into my landscape plan. However, I am going to start moving back from a premium player to a semi premium player after this event. With EA making the decision to slow down buying land, the fact that the mini game prizes don’t rotate out, and the constant reshuffle of items to allow things to make sense makes it hard to justify spending mega bucks a year on this game.

  13. Ok this or First Class Lounge?

    • This has much better outside jobs…Arthur has a job in an oversized drone dropping cash on Springfield…kinda like the helicopter. Also, this can be placed just about anywhere, while the hanger looks odd away from the airport.

  14. I enjoyed the episode he was from, so he was an instant buy for me.

  15. Permanent 4hr premium task for criminals; “Pilfer Shoplifting Section”.

    • Didn’t realize it was for all criminals, just saw it on Mayor Quimby’s tasks! I like buildings that have tasks for a whole group, like the 8 hour task for all kids at the Wizard School or the 4 hour tasks for all drunkards at Moe’s Brewing Company!

  16. If you click on “Find Building” it may show No jobs Available under the Tower of Springfield even if there are jobs available for Fortune and Ripper when you click Start.

  17. ManicJester KŁÅXØŇ

Did anyone else lose XP Multiplier time for the Collider, with this mini-update that corrected the heist problem for this character?

  18. Well the animation to this building isn’t birds flying around the top of it, so that’s a plus.

    • OMG, right!? When the birds flying around buildings came out it was a fun little animation, but now…ugh, EA has gotten uninspired and lazy with it.

  19. …wait…so they fixed him…..he DOES help with heists? Thanx for everything!💜

  20. 🎶 WE LOVE MONTY BURNS MORE….CONGA LIKE YOU MEAN IT….PLEASE DON’T MAKE ME SHOCK YOU… 🎶

  21. Ugh, another flying task. Arnie isn’t awful, or the skin for kodos (or was it kang?) but Norbert I just flat out put in inventory cause every single time I’d try to collect from my springfield he’d fly in the way, I’d tap him, and he’d teleport me to the airport. This happened so frequently I just got rid of him.

Does tapping on Arthur send you to his megastore?

  22. can he help the event yet?

  23. I love the flying tasks now thEAy fixed them. ☺

  24. Having a flying ballooon in my Springfield tapped the scale for me, so I bought it.
