Tut, Tut my good ladies and gents…we are awash in the best of “Jolly Old England” in our Springfields. The heisting continues, but it is almost secondary to the cool buildings and prizes up for grabs in this Act.
I admit to being a bit of an Anglophile, so I am stoked to get some of the buildings and special decorations that have graced my imagination and book shelves for most of my lifetime. And if you have to steal a few jewels to get it all? So be it!
We’re gonna skip over Prize #4…just another bundle of crafting currency. You get it. You need a bunch. 300 is not a great prize…but, it is a prize…kinda.
This brings us to Prize #5 – Queen’s Carriage
As I said before, full disclosure, I have been interested in English history since I was a kid. My “people” as my Mom likes to say, are from England (Wales actually…and yes…I know there is a HUGE difference). But, I started collecting lead soldiers and coaches very early in my youth.
Britain’s Soldiers (W. Britain Ltd. ) continue to be highly collectible, and a great way to learn British military and royal history. I have over 500 figures, as well as a couple of coaches…one of which is very close to the “Queen’s Coach” that we now have in our game.
Here are a couple of shots of my coaches…
The top one is the “Royal Coach” also known as the Coronation Coach. There is a little Q. Elizabeth and P. Phillip in there…much younger versions!
This is known as the “Open State Landau” and is used when the Royal Family want to feel “closer to their subjects.”
The royals have loads of coaches and cars…and they can all be seen if you go to Buckingham Palace, and take the tour of the “Royal Mews,” which is what the huge storage/garage is called. Pretty cool.

“Jolly old England ” man do I hate that phrase. Royal carriage is pretty cool though.

I love England. Best concept of breakfast ever… at least in my experience. Cakes, bisquets, and enough sugar and milk in your coffee to make you Jolly whether you feel it or not!
The carriage looks great but mine’s in storage, hoping there might be a ‘shrink ray gun’ added as a craftable… quite a few nice looking items I’d like to alter the size of. The Bastille (French Castle) could grow a bit as it is the size of a large house and I swear miniature people live there (perhaps the 7 dwarves?), the Caboose (hot dog vendor) could shrink as the hot dogs are bigger they make there are larger than most cars in Springfield! Great looking items, just need that shrink ray gun and I’ll bring them back out of storage! A shame as it is a lovely looking carriage!
I got the prize a few days ago. I have been collecting bonus donuts everyday.
Off topic but just visited your town patric to look at your dam dam, how did you get the water tile to connect, great carriage by the way 👍
It’s a mirage. Unless you mean the one at the bottom. You can only do one river tile…right int the middle… the rest just looks like it’s connected.
Much safer to say your family is from Britain and then specify Wales rather than say they’re from England and change it to Wales :-). All my Welsh friends would be on the rampage after that sentence (especially as you then acknowledge you know there’s a difference)
I think I’m going to stick the Gold State Carriage in front of my Britannia Casino as a rough approximation of the opening of Parliament (the casino version)

Enjoying the carriage. I have an elaborate hedge maze next to my Burn’s mansion and at the end is the money mountain and all of the gold items the game had given us. It’s one of my favorite areas in my Springfield.
How and where do I aquire the money balloon? Have seen this in neighbors town, but not mine…

When I saw the Queen of Denmark, she was riding in a Bentley. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.
Queen Elizabeth II generally uses a Bentley as well. Must be a favourite of most royals.
The carriages are only used for a few very special occasions.

The Queen’s Carriage is underhorsed. Two horses for such a heavy coach? Fortunately there are the”cowafied” horses, so I added six of them, to make it movable and…. look very silly 🙃

I use to ride every Thursday morning in Hyde Park and we saw the Queen a couple of times who always had the car stopped to let the horses pass by and she would wawe at us, pretty cool! Normally it was not a road for vehicles. The horses were on a dirt track.
My dad use to have a little carriage from the coronation of Queen Elizabeth, he actually was in the crowd the day of the coronation and he actually filmed it. I do not know were it’s all gone when we moved my grandma’s. It was made out of lead I think. I remeber it quite clearly. That’s a very looooooong time ago! I was born in London! But I am from French speaking background and now I live in Australia, with a lifelong passion for China! And no! I did not get the great wall in my Simpsons game! It does not do justice to the real one. I lived in Spain as well for a few of my school years. So I speak French, Spanish, English and Catalan, and some good knowledge of italian. Oh! How I wish I could speak Mandarin! Hopefully in my next life! Have a great week!
