Springfield Jobs 101: Act 2 Crafting

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ah the Crafting post….where I give you the how-to and break down each and every item available to craft, so you don’t miss a thing!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last couple of years that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self-explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self-direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.

Act 2 brought eight new craftables to Springfield, so let’s take a closer look at the new items…

So in this post I’m not going to get into the details of how to craft etc, I already covered that in the Act 1 post.  I’m also not going to talk about the items that were available to craft during Act 1 because, well, I talked about them in the Act 1 Crating Post.  So if you’d like information on either of those check out the Act 1 Crafting Post here.

My Personal Opinion on Craftables…
As always get what you like/what will work for your town.  However, keep in mind you need certain craftables to boost your heist bonus.  So focus on that, and once that’s maxed out you can go with the order items.

So again…don’t kill yourself trying to get all this stuff.  Sometimes less is more. Craft what you have a use for in Springfield….

Hope that helps some of you who have been stressing out over crafting!

And there you have it my friends…the details behind Act 2 of The Springfield Jobs Crafting!

One thing that stuck out for me is that there is no form of walls/fences, or foliage. Would have really liked that, never have enough of those in storage for later designing. 😊

  2. You can place it on pavement and create a circular drive through careful placement of foliage. I credit Tapebelt as the originator of this concept with his amazing Monsarno HQ. Under the design guide menu, go to Springfield Showoffs, click the link to Monsarno and scroll down to Tapebelt. For a larger perspective, go to Monsarno 2 and look for the trapezoidal picture on a diagonal. You want to learn how to design roads that looked curved, seemingly go up and downhill? Tape’s the master!

    • Whoops, this was still in my comment box so Ithought it hadn’t gone through. It’s an updated reply to Azul Pantalones’es comment.

  3. I love that EA brought back buildings to craft in this event but I do wish that another character had a task at Darby O’Guzzlin’s because CBG already has plenty of 4 hour tasks at other buildings. Other than that it is great to have a selection of buildings from an event that are available from crafting, donuts and prizes.

  4. Got all I want will be in great shape for act 3. With all premium characters I have over to chill or collect bonuts

  5. I’m upset because once the rollback bug hit my town, I can’t craft anymore Act 2 items.

  6. In real life….whats the difference in duties of beefeater vs guards?

  7. Saving for expensive items in act 3. Then we shall see if I have any spare. Did not get land token though.but it’s a good idea if you do not want useless stuff and have extra craftable currency

  8. It’s not a roundabout. Its the Victoria Memorial from in front of Buckingham Palace. Admittedly in real life it does have a roundabout around it, but what you get from crafting is the memorial. I’ve made it and stuck it in front of the palace for effect.

  9. I think the ‘British Roundabout’ was incorrectly named, there may be a reason they didn’t call it Queen Victoria Memorial but there must have been a better alternative considering the memorial isn’t a roundabout…

You can make a squareabout, since the roundabout can be placed on the road. It’s not much, but it’s something.

    • squareabout

    • You can place it on pavement and create a circular drive through careful placement of foliage. I credit Tapebelt as the originator of this concept with his amazing Monsarno HQ. I bet a search of the Showoffs, design tutorials or Flickr page would turn up a screenshot. There is also a curved go cart track.

  11. Does anyone recall if we’ve seen craftable buildings from past events show up in mystery boxes? I know that some buildings from those prize tracks have appeared.

Even if one doesn’t particularly like the look or SIZE of these (I’m looking at you St. Pauls…), I’ll be crafting and storing them to avoid any chance of paying donuts for them if/when they return in the future.

    • Yes – there has been craftable->premium in the past.

That’s even happened for small decorations, not just buildings.

  12. I think this event is a lot nicer than the last one, and a large part of it is being able to craft everything at first

  13. I like to craft buildings that earn cash/xp. It’s free income for my Springfield. In the past there have been some really good options.

  14. Gunna wait until a couple days left in act 3 before spending my crafting currency and grab all land tokens, then all unique items, then whatever I like what I have left
