Let the heisting begin! The latest event in Springfield, The Springfield Job, is all about pulling off elaborate Heists…well not too elaborate Homer is involved…in a bet between two Nuclear Power Plant owners.
As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon. But don’t sweat it! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.
Wondering if you should add the Giant Ferris Wheel to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this piece of spinning eye to your town…
Building/Decoration: Giant Ferris Wheel (aka the London Eye)
Donut Cost: 55 Donuts
Size: 9×6 (about as tall as the leaning tower)
Earns: 3% bonus on all cash and XP

Can Be Placed: grass|dirt|pavement|boardwalk|pier

Pros
-Good bonus % for donuts spent
-Animated when tapped. It’s a toggle when you tap, so tap to turn on, tap again to turn off
Cons
-Just a decoration, so no characters have a task there
-It is pretty tall, will definitely stick out in your Springfield (although for some of you this will be a pro)
Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
This is one of those If you like it get it items. I personally like it and got it. Has a nice bonus %, reasonably priced and it can be always animated (unless you tap to turn off). Good buy, if you like it, in my opinion.
Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I picked it up. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Giant Ferris Wheel (aka the London Eye) – this should have been an Event Prize, or a Craftable ….. saving my Sprinkles for the Mystery Box (I trust EA fixed the glitch so that you can purchase Premiums again?) 😛
What is the formula for a good purchase? Donuts to %. I’m sorry to ask this but I couldn’t find it anywhere else.
General rule of thumb (to me) every 40 dounts should yield 2%. If you can get better than that it’s an instant buy
If you buy Mystery Boxes, it’s something like a net gain of 1% per 8 donuts. Few items even come close to that. So, I just get what I like and don’t worry about %.
Does have tasks, send Flanders on a 4 hour task this morning. Lovejoy also had it, was spying on kids or something like that.
A handful of characters (mostly Churchy Joes) have tasks there and it’s one of those increasingly rare premium items that pays premium for tasks.
It might be for the parents of Springfield (Homer, Ned, Lovejoy etc.) since some characters have that task and others do not.

You’re right. I checked for the free characters that get a premium payout there and found: Marge, Ned, Kirk, Cletus, Wolfcastle, Agnes, Mona, Sideshow Bob, Dr. & Mrs. Hibbert, Rev. & Mrs. Lovejoy, Sanjay, and Mrs. Muntz. There could be more that I missed. I didn’t check anyone on the heists.

Instabuy for me – ate lunch sat in Jubilee Gardens today, I love the view of the London Eye against a perfect blue sky.
I chose not to, but after learning it will stay spinning and can be placed on the boardwalk, I’m seriously reconsidering it.

Instant buy for me. I’m hungry for bonus %, but sick of buying jet bikes. Plus it’s not a building. My town can always use more “not a building”.

My only wish was it was cheaper. I’m not crazy high level right now (only 72) and my donut spending is limited. 55 for this isn’t bad by any stretch of the imagination, but I also want Westminster Abby and I already got the Pope. And there is probably gonna be some amazing character/building combo for Act 3, so theres more donuts. How can I keep up? 🙁
It might return at the end of the event since the last few major events brings back the new items that appeared and disappeared from the store during the event then reappeared at the end. Minor spoilers: there are 2 more premium characters appearing in Act 3 and one of them is going to be available on their own or bundled with another character/building combo that is always available (depending on if you got said character/building combo already). If you want more donuts then you can try the usual ways of getting donuts (Rail Yard, Maggie, event bonuts, etc.) or you could try Kwik-E-Mart farming if you have some in game cash and time available. 🙂

I will not buy it because I can’t. Actually, I already bought it just a few minutes before having FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A WEEK the rollback bug. EA told me they don’t do two rollbacks in the same week. So, I’m just deciding if to request a rollback next Monday, losing anyway the opportunity to have this item and other stuff as well, or to abandon the game after years.
You should tell EA that’s how you’re feeling. Emphasize that an item you really want won’t be available next week. Ask if there is a supervisor your message can be directed to who can overrule the policy. Be nice even though you might not feel too polite, the person who was dealing with your problem may not have the authority to deviate from the book or may not have the experience to know that can be done. Honey vs vinegar.
Their policy is ridiculous. The rollback bug is their fault, not yours. They should roll you back whenever it hits. Your report tells them something useful, namely that it’s still there and hitting some people more than once.
