Should I Spend Donuts on Smooches on the Beach?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Let the heisting begin! The latest event in Springfield, The Springfield Job, is all about pulling off elaborate Heists…well not too elaborate Homer is involved…in a bet between two Nuclear Power Plant owners.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Smooches on the Beach to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this mono hot spot to your town…

Building/Decoration: Smooches on the Beach
Donut Cost: 45 Donuts
Size:
6×12
Earns:
$200,22xp/8hrs
Conform-O-Meter:
Gluttony +20
Can Be Placed:
grass|dirt|pavement|boardwalk|pier (ironically it cannot go on the beach…)

Leaves stores May 9th

Pros
-Comes with a short questline
-Adults have a permanent 4hr premium task there (Overpay for Sex on the Beach)
-Reasonably priced
-Animated in use, lights on silhouettes in windows

Cons
-Adds no value (other than look) for the event. No currency earned there…
-Fairly large footprint
-It cannot go on the beach…which is in the title of the building
-Task is a generic task for all adults.  While nice because it’s premium we now have 3 generic 4 hr tasks for adults with this event.

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
This is one of those If you like it get it items.  It’s nice that it comes with a task, always a bonus for a stand-alone building, but it doesn’t add value to this event.  And there’s nothing screaming “Buy it!”  So regardless of player status, if you like it and have a design plan for it get it.  Otherwise, pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I honestly haven’t decided yet.  I may end up with it, but there’s nothing overwhelming spectacular about it. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the dialogue it comes with…

Dr. Hibbert: Be careful who you kiss. This hotel is swimming in mononucleosis.

  1. Is there a list of buildings with permanent premium tasks for groups of nonpremium characters? At the moment I use an unfinished Steel Mill quest to give all adults a 4 hr premium. Although I’m not sure whether the Unemployment Office would prioritise premium tasks anyway unless they’re part of an unfinished quest?

  2. Smooches on the Beach

I’m going to pass because we’ve already Earned / Crafted plenty of free Buildings with new 4 Hour Tasks during this Event (cute name, but nope ’cause you can’t even place it on the Beach!)

  3. Has anyone who bought this looked to see if this going to turn into your default 4hr task at the unemployment office for adults? Because if it sent all my adults to a premium task from the unemployment office. I’d be very interested in purchasing this item! Thanks for all you do rappers! This site is awesome!

  4. Bought it. For 45 doughnuts I get to make most of my characters payout in a premium rate? Sounds like a good deal if you play on 4 hour intervals.

  5. It’s a gorgeous building so I got it. I agree that there are better choices donutwise.

  6. Pass i think, % buys for me just now, buildings a bit big

  7. No. Plain and simple

Here we go again! Played a couple times today and then later in the afternoon I went to play only for the whole game to redownload again. At first I was thinking I better not get the bug that’s going around and push my game back. Needless to say, after the update all it did was make my game zoomed in. Had this before and then like a day later updated again and zoomed out. This are my usual updates that happen, just the ones effecting zoom. No, space is not the issue for the whole download like some people are talking about. I have plenty of room on my phone and have a memory card in it. Everything I save saves to my external memory so I have plenty of space. I don’t have a lot of apps and Tapped Out is the only game I play.

  9. Is this going to turn into your default 4hr task at the unemployment office for adults?

    • It’s not the default right now, who knows if it ever will be.

    • The Unemployment Office uses the first stand alone 4h task in the task list. I think the generic ones are usually put in after the “normal” 4h task, but you’d have to check.

      • I think that’s right. I wish EA would fix the employment center to always choose the highest paying task for the interval.

        • Got this from the yearbook mystery box and I love it. Premium 4 hr jobs for most characters (not the kids nor Cookie Kwan). I put it on the waterfront to fit its name. I currently have 40-50 characters there and I send Minnie there overnight (260 for a 4 hr job vs 275 for an 8hr one…if she had an 8 hr job. She doesn’t unless Moe is available for fighting. But I now have Moog (Moe’s premium skin) so the two separate overnight jobs earn a lot more. This building is quickly paying for itself.

  10. Got it just because I liked the building.

Springfield needs more apartments to balance out all the mansions/houses.
