Should I Spend Donuts on Swelldorado?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Let the heisting begin! The latest event in Springfield, The Springfield Job, is all about pulling off elaborate Heists…well not too elaborate Homer is involved…in a bet between two Nuclear Power Plant owners.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Swelldorado to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this taste of South Beach to your town…

Building/Decoration: Swelldorado
Donut Cost: 35 Donuts
Size:
6×11
Earns:
$300, 30xp/12hrs
Conform-O-Meter:
Indolence +20
Can Be Placed:
grass|dirt|pavement|boardwalk|pier

Leaves stores May 9th

Pros
-Comes with a short questline
-Adults have a permanent 4hr premium task there (Stay at the Swelldorado)
-Reasonably priced
-Animated in use, lights on silhouettes in windows

Cons
-Adds no value (other than look) for the event. No currency earned there…
-Task is a generic task for all adults.  While nice because it’s premium we now have 4 generic 4 hr tasks for adults with this event.

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
This is one of those If you like it get it items.  It’s nice that it comes with a task, always a bonus for a stand-alone building, but it doesn’t add value to this event.  And there’s nothing screaming “Buy it!”  So regardless of player status, if you like it and have a design plan for it get it.  Otherwise, pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I picked it up.  It’s not bad for the beach and it’s only 35 donuts.  I may end up with it, but there’s nothing overwhelming spectacular about it. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the dialogue it comes with…

Swelldorado
Auto starts

Marge: Finally, a night off without the kids.
Homer: Unless they torture our secret location out of Grampa.
Grampa: Yep, I’ll spill the beans if someone sneezes at me.
Make Homer and Marge Enjoy a Night Alone- 4hrs, Earns $520, 140xp
Make Lisa and Bart Ruin Their Parent’s Night- 4hrs, Earns $520, 140xp
Lisa: You can’t leave us alone at home!
Bart: Who’ll check for monsters under our beds? Grampa? The man can barely bend over.
Marge: How did you know we were here, anyway?
Lisa: We just followed the objective.

What are your thoughts on Swelldorado?  Will you be spending the donuts to bring it to your Springfield? Did you already?  Why or why not?  Where have you placed it in your town?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. Swelldorado

Looks like another swell Building for Springfield Heights, which I am going to pass on, because EA won’t give Tappers more Land in that Section (queue “waah waah” sound effects here) 🤔

    • I too am not buying anything due to land scarcity. I’m donut rich & have over 22 billion or more in game cash on both my games. The donut tally is over 3,000 covering both games & I just can’t spend them!

I’m frustrated that any “new” land is for land tokens & cannot be purchased with in game cash. EA really dropped the ball on this aspect!

I was in this same position way back during the Terwilliger event. No land. No boardwalk space. So I just gave up buying premium items as there was no place to put them! Now I’m back in the same situation; But more frustrated due to the locked land parcels only available for land tokens & only 3 available via crafting during the entire grindingly long questline for this event.

I’d have thought EA would give us enough land to buy so as to allow all these large footprint buildings. A money making opportunity gone begging?

  2. I had to pick up Swelldorado right away. I loved that it was 35 donuts! I only had 40 ish donuts left and I had a spot open for it. Looks really nice in the pink section of my town!

  3. 4 hour premium task for all adults all in one place, seems like a no-brainer for KEM farmers.

  4. Thanks as always for the informative posts. TSTO Addicts has been my go-to since I started playing this game 5+ (?) years ago, so thank you for your tireless hard work!

Quick question… the premium-paying 4 hour task for adults at Swelldorado… does it take precedence over the non-premium characters’ regular 4 hour tasks if you use the Unemployment Office? Right now I’ve got my Springfielders going to the She-She Lounge pretty much constantly since it’s paying the premium rate for all characters (I purposefully stalled on completing the questline associated with the lounge.) Wondering if the Swelldorado task could be a useful alternative that would allow me to keep a premium 4-hour task, but also let me finish the She-She Lounge questline?

    Thanks!

  5. Such a nice Art Deco building…hard to beleive this is drawn by the same folks as ths Cash Casino (yeeesh!). Goes well in my growing Miami Beach (heights) area…will probably move the Cuban Private Home over there also and add a few night clubs from my Squidport.

  6. i dont even have that many donunts

    • We’ve all been there…don’t despair, keep farming and you’ll make progress. It’s really hard at first, but it begins to progress faster as you get your XP% up. Hang in there😁.

      • Hey Ebron! I have a quick question. I’m almost done with lvl 60 quests. If I was to build a new area in my town, what would you suggest? (airport, strip, etc…)

        • Getting all your Springfield Heights buildings(10 of each) at level 1 should be first…you need those hidden XP bonus totals (up to 150% added when you’re done). The most valuable are the modern mansions, at 5% each, followed by the classic mansions at 4% each. Check out this page…at the bottom is a breakdown of all the Heights stuff.

You also have a lot of parking lot space that could be downsized, maybe move some SH items over to enable you to start building up a larger house farm (30 houses – with more expensive houses that can be harvested every 4 hours). By building up your cash intake, you can add more KEMs (again – aim for 30) to boost your level jumps and speed up donut production.
I wouldn’t worry about adding buildings (other than houses) at this level…when you reach a 300% bonus and also have all the SH items out, you will be in a better cash flow and donut production situation. At that point, decorating can take a larger part in the game. Of course, this is just how I would proceed…you have to do what works for you and what is still fun. I actually enjoyed the challenge of boosting my XP over 1000%, but it’s not for everybody. If you want to design also, I recommend starting a killer Squidport. Since tile production is restricted, getting started sooner rather than later is a good plan.😁

          • To get an idea of KEM farming and percentage boosting, I’m in the same situation as you as I’m still near the beginning.

With 138% + hidden bonus percentage from heights buildings I spent 25 donuts to run the xp collider for 10 days and had 3 mil to spend and I placed 33 houses per cycle (except on the last day and I just spent the rest of my money on kems.) My rough results were somewhere between 75-120 donuts for farming every 4 hours 3-4 times a day for those 10 days while sending my 75 characters on 1 hour tasks as often as possible but sometimes 4 hour tasks as well, and 8 hours when I slept. Keep in mind I subtracted the event donuts and where’s Maggie donuts I earned so that donut intake was over 100 if you include where’s Maggie and event donuts.

Now on to the percentage increase part.

I spent 326 donuts on burns mystery boxes and came out with 42% bonus increase, which averages out to 7.7 donuts per percentage, which is a great number. I also got 9 lard lads which will give me more ways to make money and fill my xp bar.

          • Thanks Ebron! I appricate it. Squidport/heights it is!

          • bobq…
Sounds like you have a working plan👍😄…the collider, combined with a substantial house farm, and a nice bunch of KEMs can make all the difference. You’re making great progress…congrats!

      • Love art deco buildings, think there’s still a few in Edinburgh but don’t think I have the design or space to put it, will think about this one ?

        • I’m just back from Edinburgh, had a great time. Think we’ll be returning and next time, I’ll be sure to get the gin tickets 😉🇬🇧

  7. I liked it for 35 donuts, didn’t wait out the SOB, but pressed the button immidiately

    • Who’s an SOB? Lol😜

    • The dumy Gabbo uttering the words, “All the kids in Springfield are S.O.B.s.” Brockman was fired for muttering, “That oughta hold those SOBs”, after reporting on Gabbo using foul language while the cameras were on. In the newspaper headline following that scene, it read that Kent Brockman was fired, though he still remained a newscaster the next time he was shown.

  8. 35 donuts? This was an instabuy for me!

  9. Is it just me or the game is unstable?
I keep getting logged off so i have to restart and reload the entire game then log on again…
It takes forever since the game is close to 800M…
    Whats wrong?
    Please help!

  10. Cons: Another tall building to fit into Springfield. That being said, I bought it.
