Springfield Jobs 101: Act 3 Crafting

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ah the Crafting post….where I give you the how-to and break down each and every item available to craft, so you don’t miss a thing!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last couple of years that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self-explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self-direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.

Act 3 brought seven new craftables to Springfield, so let’s take a closer look at the new items…

So in this post I’m not going to get into the details of how to craft etc, I already covered that in the Act 1 post.  I’m also not going to talk about the items that were available to craft during Act 1 because, well, I talked about them in the Act 1 Crating Post.  So if you’d like information on either of those check out the Act 1 Crafting Post here.

My Personal Opinion on Craftables…
As always get what you like/what will work for your town.  However, keep in mind you need certain craftables to boost your heist bonus.  So focus on that, and once that’s maxed out you can go with the order items.

So again…don’t kill yourself trying to get all this stuff.  Sometimes less is more. Craft what you have a use for in Springfield….

Hope that helps some of you who have been stressing out over crafting!

And there you have it my friends…the details behind Act 3 of The Springfield Jobs Crafting!

What are your thoughts on crafting?  Which items are you digging?  Which would you pass on?  Sound off in the comments below, you know we love hearing from you!

  1. I enjoyed Crafting several of the Fancy Oval Fountains in Act 3. I would’ve Crafted more then 2 Resort Hotels? But the Buildings take up too much Land. Island Capitol Building and Land Token were obvious choices – but the rest (especially what was required)? Were meh (aka gone into Storage). 🤷‍♂️

  2. Also locked from Crafting of Act 2 and 3 Items. This seams to be part of the stupid tollback glitch which started for me at the beginning of act 3.

  3. I was able to craft Act 2 item right after Act 3 started but now they are locked again. So frustrated with this glitch!

  4. The top left character button glitch has locked my act 2 and act 3 craftables. And EA did not do rollback to my game.

  5. Can I just say thanks to all the tappers that responded to my comment on crafting post. I’ve made some new friends, so much so that my list has reached 100. Wow! So I have had to press decline on a few of you sorry. Nice to welcome the newbies and see some great designs. Keep well, keep tapping and if you’re free, pay me a visit cos I always keep buildings free to tap.

  6. I will not craft a few items for the first time! No interest in the resort hotel or island capitol.

  7. Be sure to send homer on his individual event task instead of accidentally sending him to heist again once you get the assassin. It will dig into your Bonuts time, and you can’t cancel the heist.

    • Yep, already made this mistake. Homer must do “one last job” three times. I guess his dialogue with Fat Tony should’ve been a hint. :/

    • I made that mistake too. Maybe lost 2 days of bonuts rounds

    • I seem to be on auto-pilot while sending people heisting – I have been sending Homer on his “normal” task 5 or 6 times now, instead of the “one last job”. Got to 2 out of 3 now, but this morning I missed the last one yet again…

  8. Why don’t those craftable corner buildings rotate?? So frustrating!!

  9. Wondering if anyone else has been locked out fro crafting act 2 & 3? I crafted what I needed asap for the act 3 scene to unlock. Got the rollback glitch for the umpteenth time….kinda disappointed as there were a few buildings & ATM’s I had wanted to make. Not really feeling like telling EA is really all that helpful at this point. Just holding out hope that they will try to fix this SOON.

  10. Welcome to Chris and bindi. Have visited your towns and can see you’ve put some thoughts to your designs. Really like them. Might pinch some ideas for my town 🙂 happy tapping my friends x

So besides buildings from lvls 1-60, is literally everything else in people’s towns premium?

    • Premium stuff, event stuff, episode tie-in stuff…there have been LOTS of limited-time updates since 2012

      • omnipotentwiz

so much for donuts i have to get….

        • I’m in the same boat as you since I started tapping in November. Right now I’m focusing on getting my bonus % up by KEM farming and waiting for the payoff of a large amount of donuts per cycle that I can use to get many of the premium items offered during each event instead of spending most of my earning on one item and that’s all I can afford. At some point I’ll be able to buy out mystery boxes if I want to, which will be a nice option to have. Time, patience, and consistency will get me there.

          • You will notice that the aquiring of bonuts will speed up during that process 🍩🍩🍩🍩

          • omnipotentwiz

I started in January, an am working my way up. I have a 95% bonus, and am saving for my 5th hideaway, after which i will start on events

          • omnipotentwiz

I will be following Ebron’s teaching of “a year of only bonus percentage and characters”

    • I have been playing since the first Christmas event (2012, I think?), and was already jealous I missed a number of earlier events of that year. Had to buy most of the originally free content with donuts later on. That being said, over the years I got a lot of stuff for free that came back for donuts later. Barney and his Bowling Alley were a prize in the aforementioned Christmas event, so even though he is now a premium item, I got him for a bunch of event currency back in 2012. Or Miss Springfield and Drederick Tatum were prizes during Whacking Day. By now, almost everything I earned during the numerous events I played is premium, even though I didn’t pay a single donut for those items.

I’m lucky, i was just gifted a account that has been around since at least the stonecutters, and i am able to work with that. I’m so happy!

        • This is a direct violation of EA’s ToS. And a violation of this website, please stop discussing this here. Any further conversation regarding this will be deleted. I’m actually a little annoyed the original comment got through

  12. Reaching 20% for Acts 2 and 3 was really easy this time around, given the larger percentages granted by the craftables. After I made sure I crafted 20% of different items for each event task building, then went back and crafted 1 of each item I had skipped (e.g. the canal buildings). There are a few items I am glad to have, and, whether I use them or not, themed buildings are always welcome to allow for future designs.

  13. Please just give me more LAND TOKENS!

    • I agree with you wholeheartedly.
The possibility to buy land with game cash will be equally be welcomed by me.

      • omnipotentwiz

do i get the token? the resort hotel? or the atm?

        • You can get them all if you gather enough plunde/Monty Burns Casino chips.

        • Token!!

        • As long as you are in the early stages, and don’t have to rely on land tokens to unlock more land, I’d say get the resort hotel. It earns money, which is usually in short supply in the beginning. The land token might save you money when you buy the next block of land, but again, in the early game the land parcels are comparatively cheap, and the token would be sort of wasted. The ATM seems the most useless item to me, just a bonus-less decoration. It’s one of the “if you like it, get it” items, no benefit other than your enjoyment of placing it in your Springfield.

  14. Some adults (parents) have a 4 hour task at the Resort – spend time away from kids.

  15. omnipotentwiz

ATM, resort hotel, or land token?

    • Thoughts, since you’ve shared that you’re a lower level player at the moment…
      – The resort hotel crafting cost is high, but it does pay $ and XP. In the long run, this is probably your best bet.
      – At your level of progress in the game, land should still be relatively inexpensive. If you get the land token, the best value is to stash it for when you’re buying parcels that cost >$1M each.
      – The ATM is just a small decoration that you will likely forget about soon.

    • I would get the land token first because you can buy the land that costs the millions (max is 3,500,000) for free or if you have reached the new land that cost tokens only then the land tokens would be useful for them (I think there is about 54 total land plots which cost tokens only). The resort hotel would be next because it generates cash and xp which is useful if you need more cash and (excluding the Truck Shack from Bart Royale) it has been a while since buildings could be crafted (especially in multiples) but the three heist buildings and Plunderer Pete’s should generate cash and xp after the event, however, the resort hotel does have a large footprint and is tall but not as tall as MoHo House. The ATM would be last because it only adds a bonus if you don’t have 20% at the heist buildings and it wouldn’t have a bonus percentage after the event.

      • omnipotentwiz

        Thanks!

        • Be aware that some people, including me, have had land tokens disappear from inventory over time (probably during updates) so I tend to use mine right away, hence I have a very funny shaped town because of course I’m going to use them on the locked or most expensive pieces of land.
So I agree with rhayader, hotel first, land tokens 2nd.

    • As you mentionned you’re still on lower levels, i can hardly imagine you need the land tokens already. There must be still a lot of land available for in game cash. Go for the hotel.

  16. There have been a lot of great things to craft this event. I’m still unsure as to how I want to spend my extra currency. I’ll wait closer to the end to decide.

    • I’m so happy EA is finally making items you can place on river water! I want oodles of gondolas but will probably only have time to craft a few more.

  17. Having a redesign after realizing all my Springfield High stuff carries a bonus – may well put it all in the Heights and accept it looks a mess

  18. Graham Crowe

The challenge is what do you think might attract a bonus in the future or may come in handy.
Personally will do a little Venice section, as part 2 and 3 they will be incorporated into previous sections – should have bought the London Eye!

    • They haven’t been doing too much of the crafting becoming premium items lately. And the last couple of times they did they had the same item, but it was labeled differently in the files. So the crafted one had no bonus and the premium one had a bonus.

  19. Don’t hate me for this, and I’m not bragging but…..I’ve managed to craft everything available and have loads of craft currency left. Any suggestions on what to craft to place/store for future use? How have I done it? Well I’m disabled and don’t work and don’t sleep…much so I play around the clock. If it wasn’t for this game, it’s fellow players and the addicts team, well I think I’d die of boredom. Love reading all the posts and seeing how my neighbours/friends have designed their towns. So thank you all. Cheers x x 💖stiggygd331💘

    • Added you. You must have a busy town!

    • Ive made a few atms and spread round my town. Put in places where you’d find a atm, like next to the kwik-e-mart, in my shopping area. Made a couple of spare fountains if I want to make any gardens in the future and get bored of the SH fountain.

    • Crafted one of everything as well, and have the same problem – what to spend the rest on? I don’t have a lot left over, but there are still a few days left. Anyway, I can’t really decide between more of the Venice houses, or stuff like the phone booths, fountains and ATMs. I usually like small, everyday stuff that I can spread around my town. Although there are the regular phone booths, loads of different fountains, and also a bunch of ATMs from the spy event left over… Definitely no more of the statues, or those huge resort hotels! I will mull this over a few days more before I decide.

    • I’m going to try to get more of the guards but the gondolas are the only things you can craft to place on river water. I want as many gondolas as I can earm before I have to update. This fountain is kind of boring but fountains and spotlights always bring interest to an area.
I’m glad you’ve found something that brings you joy, interest and a sense of community Gilly. Blessings!

  20. The PM of Australi statue looks a lot like Snake 😁

  21. We all complained about getting loads of crafting items in past events. Now they’ve changed it I shouldn’t complain but… I now have think wisely as to what I want.
