Should I Spend Donuts on Chez Guevara?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s time for a little mystery in Springfield!  The latest mini-event to hit our games has caused us to put on our investigative hats to see just who shot Mr. Burns.  Of course a new mini-event in town means a new opportunity for EA to add new premium items to our stores!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Chez Guevara to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Senor Burns hotspot to your town…

Building/Decoration: Chez Guevara
Donut Cost: 45 Donuts
Size:
5×9
Earns:
$90, 10xp/4hrs once you’ve finished Mini-Event. Earns 20 Burns Coins/4hrs while you’re working on the mini-event.
Conform-O-Meter:
Consumerism +10
Can Be Placed:
grass|dirt|pavement|boardwalk|pier

Leaves stores May 23rd

Pros
-Comes with a short questline
-Adults have a permanent 8hr premium task there (Dance the Senor Burns)
-Reasonably priced
-Earns Event Currency
-Animated when in use, neon in signs light up

Cons
-Task is a generic task for all adults, yet another one.  These task lists are getting full…

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
This is one of those If you like it get it items.  It’s nice that it comes with a task, always a bonus for a stand-alone building, but it doesn’t add value to this event.  And there’s nothing screaming “Buy it!”  So regardless of player status, if you like it and have a design plan for it get it.  Otherwise, pass.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’m still on the fence.  I don’t care too much about the event currency earning potential, it’s more about what it adds to the aesthetics of my Springfield.  I may end up with it, but there’s nothing overwhelming spectacular about it. But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the dialogue it comes with…

Senor Burns
Homer starts

Homer: It may not surprise you.
Moe: But all of us despise you.
Lovejoy: Please die.
Krusty: And fry.
Bart: In Hell.
Ned: You rotten.
Lisa: Rich old wretch!
Make Adults Dance the Senor Burns-

  1. Maybe the best building in SF so far. BUY IT if it comes back and if you don’t have it already!
For what it does, the price is ridiculously low. About 90% of all Springfielders can go on a 8- hour premium task there, except for a few characters that came with THoH 2017 and 2018, most of the children ( except for Adil) and a few others like some of the Xmas characters.
Some characters were also added over time, p.ex. Russ Cargill.
The only downside is you have to send characters manually, but no big deal since you don’t need to scroll down the task lists and you can just go on clicking :).
For me, it usually takes about 5 minutes to send about 280 characters there, absolutely worth it imo, doing it every day.

Sorry if someone else has already made this comment, it would be good if we could start the 8 hour dance task from Che Guevara.

I bought it and like it well enough; it’s handy having an eight hour premium option however, I’m here to moan (sorry). Yet again we have a Send All Springfielders task, which takes the Unemployment Office out of action. I imagine if EA could they would, but gosh it would be great if they could turn off tasks once the required number of people are doing it!

  4. Duplicate message (edited) – I’m not sure where to put this as it is a “heads up” to neighbours to please NOT click on the Chez Guevara building when visiting a friend’s town if it shows coins collectable for the current event! – They get nothing & the clock resets to 3hrs.59mins when they clear people inside.

One of my kind neighbours tried to help in my A town & now it’s 20 coins behind my B town – so nothing gained, even timewise, @ all!

Maybe this message could be posted in large print on the opening page?

  5. I probably would have bought this already, if it wasnt because of my recycleing jobs have been broken since the update.
When its harder to earn free donuts makes me hold on tighter.

  6. Like the look and it’s pretty cheap. Will probably get it even though I am low on donuts.

  7. Chez Guevara
    I spent the Sprinkles 😀

This Building is getting me thru the Mini-Event quickly (everybody ♥️’s dancing the Senor Burns), I’ve earned back the spent Bonuts by Kem Farming (and got the Loud Mouth Texan at Discount (Yee hah)! 🇨🇱

    Happy Mom’s Day 👍

  8. is there a way to force the unemployment office to use the premium option? i dont think there is but no harm asking. im not gonna manually tap all my characters for it

  9. I got it, it goes good with all the cuban/miami stuff from the last event

  10. I noticed that some of my characters have several 4-hour tasks, and now this gives all adults yet another 8-hour task. I wish EA would make these new tasks 2-hours, 6-hours, or 16-hours and add those time options to the Unemployment Office so that we could send our citizens on task times other than just the current 1-, 4-, 8-, 12-, and 24-hour options.

Also, while I know it’s not especially practical, I probably would have bought Chez Guevara if it had come with Tito Puente.

    • Oh yes, I would love new options for unemployment office, I dont really know whats the point of having 5 different 4-hour tasks for one character… If one was made into 2 hours, another to 6, 10, 16, that would be grEAt.

  11. Bought it. Only 45 donuts, earns 20 Burnscoin every 4 hours, without expenditure of in-game cash, AND premium 8-hour tasks for adult characters who otherwise are stuck with lack-luster non-premium tasks. WIN!

    • My thoughts exactly! Which is why I bought it in both my towns. I hate some of the new characters from the last event have tasks @ brown houses or the nuclear plant ( I hate seeing the smoke); So this gives another option.

  12. My South American section is one of my favorite parts of my Springfield, so yes- I had to have it.

    • I used 12 terraced houses & the 3 pubs from the last event to recreate a middle class English town; Complete with village green area & a small park. I’m happy with my designs.

      • I just now tried to make my canal and terraced houses work in a design and I can’t do it. I couldn’t craft as many as I’d like, they don’t align correctly, ugh! In storage they went. I have stuff dating back to before Christmas to work on…not to mention IRL.

I like the look of this building, maybe it’s the cheesy palm tree facade lol. Bought it right away 😊

  14. Not the place (and maybe not the time, sometimes I miss details for months), but when did Springfield Elementary start paying out cash? It had a very small payout for the first 5+ years and now it’s spitting out cash every 8 hours. Way to go, kiddoes!!!!

  15. Thank you for this, Alissa!

Does anyone know whether Jay G, Lurleen, or Russ Cargill help with the mini-event at all?

  16. Bought it on my alt

  17. I have the roll back glitch. If I buy this exclusively for the 8 hour task will the unemployment office send the characters there so its an easy collect of cash and xp? It is so difficult finding and collecting everyone with this bloody glitch! 😠

  18. I got it almost exclusively for the pun 😅

  19. Another pro for this would be that The Parson and Sexy Pirate finally have their own 8 hour task that doesn’t take away Lovejoy and Marge.

    • Ydouneedtoknow

Big if true. Alissa can u confirm?

    • Sabrtriviachamp

You’re half right: Sexy Pirate can do the 8 hour task, but not the Parson. Oh well, one out of two is a start.

Got it for the pun, too. Loved the Tito Puente cameo. Plus, too many inside jokes with my friends about the Mets playing at Chez Stadium (you had to be there).

  20. Not all the adults have this – characters introduced during the Spy, Music and Wizard events are still excluded, just like with the other Adult tasks. I guess they will never be added to the adult group or All Springfielders group.

    • So are most of the ones that were released with homerpalooza

    • I was thinking of getting this so that some of my non-premium adults (that lack a premium skin or task) could have a permanent premium task. Aside from the excluded ones you mentioned, all the other adults can use it? Is it only one adult at a time?

  21. David Billington

Cool looking building… when I do the revamp of my holiday village area I will probably place it there.

  22. I feel like having a premium task there for all the adults is a pretty big pro. The only problem is you have to send them there manually to get the benefit.

    • Yes–it would be great to be able to send all eligible adults by choosing from a list, by tapping on the building….

    • Cool…it goes on the squidport!
      Ka-ching 🖒

^^ I’ve run out of land again. Darn tokens. 😠

      • Hi, I’d like to thank you for this comment, it made me realize that I can move a lot of stuff to squidport. I’ve been a (involuntary) plopper for some time, first I was buying out land, but in the mean time too many things have arrived to springfield and when I had bought all the land possible, it was just overwhelming to think about redesign, I just didnt know where to start. But now I have rearranged my squidport which moved quite a lot of buildings out of the town (I turned squidport into a sort of mall with shop, food and entertainment establishments). I hope to keep this momentum going and change the mess of a town into something nice.

So again, thank you for this comment, it gave me a push I probably needed 🙂

        • Nice!
I’m a big squidport fan. So much potential for all the buildings I can’t squeeze into my land locked areas. If you have the submarine you can get more tiles over the limit. 🖒

          • I dont have it, but thanks for the tip, I will keep it in mind if it shows up in store again 🙂 I’ve moved to springfields heights now (well, more like removed all the cluter so far…, i dont want to nuke, im grouping things i want to use later together), so I will work with the pier tiles now.

    • Where was that beer glass from? I only have the st paddy’s day one

  23. Tempted to get it just because the pun in its name made me laugh 😊

  24. It’s a very pretty building, I’m glad I got it. It would go good with Coconut Babaloo.
