Itchy and Scratchy Land 101: Act 1 Crafting

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Ah the Crafting post….where I give you the how-to and break down each and every item available to craft, so you don’t miss a thing!

Love it or hate it, EA has proven over the last couple of years that crafting is here to stay.  While the prizes themselves are pretty self-explanatory, collect this to earn these prizes, crafting is a whole other “animal”.  Crafting requires some self-direction.  You decide what you want and collect the items to craft accordingly.  Sometimes this is successful and sometimes it’s not. And, as with all things, for some events crafting is easier than others.

Now I know some of you still have questions so, let’s take a look…

By now everyone should know how crafting works.  But for those who don’t, I’ll cover the basics again.  But real quick, so I know a chunk of you will scroll down to the item breakdowns anyway…

And now onto the basics….

Crafting is triggered via Itchy and Scratchy’s gate via the MAIN questline…Injury Five-Oh Pt. 1

Tapping the gate will bring you to the crafting menu.  You can also access the crafting menu via the event hub menu by clicking the trophy icon and then the crafting icon…

The Crafting Currency is Itchy and Scratchy Money (turns out they finally found someone to accept it), it looks like this:

You can earn Crafting Currency from:
-Tapping Park Visitors(your town & neighbors)
-Sending characters to Staff Rides

We’re back to leveling up for this one.  However, this one is a hybrid of leveling up and having to wait for a new Act.  Some items will be unlocked for Act 1, and you’ll have to level up to hit them, and other items will remain locked, no matter what level you’re on, until the next Act hits.

Each level unlocks more items to craft, for each Act.  You spend crafting currency to level up. And once again they’ve decided to stick with what’s worked in the most recent events, you do NOT have to choose between Leveling up and Crafting.  The currency you spend to Craft items will count towards the currency needed to Level up!

Similarly…you DO NOT HAVE TO CRAFT ITEMS TO LEVEL UP. You can level up by simply tapping the green button next to the level up bar.

It still takes crafting currency, but it prevents you from crafting a bunch of stuff you may not want in order to level up.

Having the Level Up option back is beneficial in helping find park visitors faster.  Simply tap the Level Up button (as long as you have LESS crafting currency available than what’s required to level up), followed by the Do It button and it’ll take you right to Park Visitors in your town.

There are 10 total crafting levels.  You’ll start at Level 1 so you’ll need to level up 9 times (to reach level 10), in order to unlock all of the craftable items.  Here’s the breakdown of how much currency is required to reach each level and unlock new items:

Level to Reach Currency Required to Reach
2 2400
3 3,400
4 4,000
5 8,000
6 3,200
7 5,600
8 3,200
9 7,000
10 11,000

So you’ll need a total of 47,800 to reach Level 10 crafting

Levels 1-4 are required for Act 1
Levels 5-7 are required for Act 2
Levels 8-10 are required for Act 3

And as with previous events, crafting ends when the event is over.  There’s no rush to get it done now (well aside from the Amusement Bonus and the questline requirements), you can wait until the event is almost over to get everything your tapping heart desires…HOWEVER…you’ll want to craft items with the Amusement Bonus in order to max out your currency rewards. So you’ll need to do some crafting before the event is over.

So now that we’ve gone over those basics, let’s get to why most of you are reading this post…the breakdown of each craftable item.

Let me preface this by saying, for this event most of the craftable items are decorations.  Therefore, what to craft and how many is entirely up to you…as to what you think will work best in your Springfield.  There are some great decorations that can work in a variety of ways in Springfield (depending on how you’re building your town) but it’s up to you to determine what works best for your town.

My Recommendation on Crafting Currency…
Should you save or should you spend?  Max out your Amusement Bonus and reach level 5, then start hoarding your crafting currency for Act 2.  That way you can get a good start on the new craftables once Act 2 hits.  But make sure you reach Level 5 before you start saving since Level 5 is the first level required for Act 2 craftables.

So again…don’t kill yourself trying to get all this stuff.  Sometimes less is more. Craft what you have a use for in Springfield….

Hope that helps some of you who have been stressing out over crafting!

And there you have it my friends…the details behind Act 1 of the Itchy and Scratchy Land event crafting!

  1. Is this a bug – just noticed my crafting menu was 2400 or something to the next level has just jumped to 14000 – are you kidding? Also need 21000 just for a land token?

  2. I’ve seen parking lots on some friends towns that don’t have the Itchy and Scratchy signs. Sure would like to have some of those. Is there some trick to getting them?

    • They are for sale in the regular store…they are called “Large Parking Lots”

      • Thanks Patric and Blindi55 – I thought I had seen them at some point. I had looked in both regular and inventory but couldn’t find them. Of course, in inventory that’s not too surprising given that there are thousands of items in there. But I will try again.

    • 6 were put into inventory with the Krustyland nuke in case you haven’t seen them yet.

  3. When visiting I’ve noticed some neighbours have Krustyland monorail station .. how do you get it ?

  4. I tap the Itchy and Scratchy car icon and it says “Reach 20% amusement bonus”. I tap “Do it” and get “Tap & Hold for selection mode”. What does this mean?

  5. I can’t remember ( most likely scenario) or I wasn’t around. What happened before the current crafting and what was the first crafting event?

    • The first time that crafting was introduced if I remember correctly was with the THOH XXV event in 2014 and before that event there was no 3 act with 6 week event structure, instead there was only 1 prize track for the entire events.

  6. Hi Alissa
Thanks for your post. Always appreciated.
I have one question though. Do I have to complete the level 5 or can I stop @ 3800 and save for the next part? If I reached the 8000 will it not unlock the next level? I am a bit confused there. Thanks for your help.

    • You need to reach level 5 in crafting…which is the 8000, for Level 5 prizes to start…but they don’t start until Act II…so, you can store or spend at this point, it won’t matter, as long as you hit 8,000.

  7. I have never been stumped in this game before but what the heck am I supposed to do with the injury 500 track. It asks me to put the long track with the other pieces. I don’t get it. I need more track pieces to complete it but I don’t know where to get them. How do I complete this part. I am stuck.

Visiting 5 or 6 times a day, I obtained Diane. Finished the Main Prize Event Line, Act 1.

Diane has her own Quest line that earns Event Currency – but WAIT!
You need Diane for Part 7 to finish the quest line for Act 1 and start earning Bonuts.
Finish the Main Quest Line (and earn Event Currency) , and then send Diane on HER Quest line (which earns Event Currency)

Off to work the real world for a while
    See ya’.

    • Thanks for the heads up. I just won her today, and the game starts out with her tasks, rather than the event quest. You have to close out the dialogue for her personal quest before the event quest starts. Without your post, I would have started her on an 8hr job without realizing it was the wrong one…thanks again 😁.

  9. Ooo, just got an Update. I wonder what it is?

  10. I don’t know if this will help those who might still have problems with lag but I read in an EA forum that disconnecting one section of the track will stop the lag. I turned one corner around and the game lag stopped. It makes the track unusable but for me it’s better than having a slow game.

  11. Thanks for all your hard work, especially on these crafting guides which have a lot of parts. I am in a bit of a quandary regarding strategy for the transition to Act II.
Your advice to get to level 5 and then hoard is the surest course of action, and the one I will most likely follow.
But this event is a bit different than past events as it appears we won’t be getting a new building with a new bonus area but will be adding to the current one based on the I&S gate.
To this end, I am hoping the Injury 500 track I have added since maxing my bonus will have their bonus applied when Act II arrives but not counting on it.
And when I reach level 5 tomorrow. I will probably craft one small track piece with the expectation that this purchase won’t carry over to apply towards level 6 as this has not been the EA way lately.
So I am curious to see what transpires…

Funny that only krusty land buildings and rides can go on park pavement but the new buildings cannot

  13. Keith1Roon991

Just realised I will have to craft 8000 worth of junk to get to level 5

    • yea, not fun. I’m contemplating just burning crafting currency on leveling up rather than getting a bunch of crap. Then again I wouldn’t mind 1 more each of the I&S parking lots…

    • Yup. Im just buying Track pieces. I dont need a parkinglot

    • 2 parking lots and one nurse’s station and you’re there…not so bad.

    • You can level up without picking an item … I actually did it by accident … you end up with nothing to show for all you’ve collected, but on the other hand you don’t end up with items you don’t want. This is assuming you’re already at 20% bonus and don’t need any additional to hit the max. Alissa covered this but I think some may not realize exactly how it works.

  14. I hate how in the pictures it has the entrance to Itchy and Scratchy land with a road or the park track under it and the banner too, when you cleat can’t even do that.

  15. I know that we had a update yesterday .
It did not help my game at all .
    I think we’ve got a new runner-up
for worst event ever . Sorry dodgeball .

What are new players going to think with all the glitches are they going to stick around for years and years ; No .

EA programmer : Hey I’ve got a good idea let’s nuke the town .

CEO : Will anything go wrong .

EA programmer : Why No . What could go wrong with dropping a nuclear bomb Mr. President .

    🎬🎥🐒 . See ya bye . 👽

  16. Beckee Williams

I just got back from 3 weeks without internet and am totally confused with how to place the Injury 500 to get it to work, any pics or tips that I am missing? Thanks, Bec

    • talon8770 // rick

      build it like the monorail

    • Each track piece has 2 red dots at each end that show up when another piece is close to being linked to it…just match the dots and the pieces will link👍😁.

  17. Taking a brEAk. TSTOA team thanks for your time and devotion but EA has finally broken the game imo. I appreciate all the work put in and hope Pat can help people as much as possible but I need a break.

  18. Hey there sky fingers! Just wanted to let uou in on a surprizing thing that happened to me while playing last night. ( YES Im back in. Was able to log in but tried playing on my laptop and it worked) Anywho I was farming blood mobile’s and Rex Manner popped up saying ,”Hey! Thats alot of Blood mobiles you have there! What kind of foul play are you doing here? ” I couldnt believe it! Has this happened to anyone else?

    • Rex Banner ? Oops

    • talon8770 // rick

      yep happened to me once

    • It happens the first time you have 100 placed at one time. It’s a one time thing.

    • Ever since the lags, the stupid game keeps losing connection to the server while I’m farming, and I lose all my donuts. I now only farm RTTs in bunches of 12. I used to layout 60 at a time, but after the 3rd time I lost everything after just a few donut picks, I vowed to never do more than 12 at a time…36 donuts hurts, but 180 makes you want to cry☹️.

  19. I was only able to craft one banner. The only item I would have liked to have more than one of too!

  20. Since I downloaded the update this morning I haven’t been able to log into my game. Anyone else facing this issue? I’m in Europe.
The password reset function is also not available. Even though I’m very sure I remember my password correctly.

  21. My biggest question is, will track pieces be craftable after the event ends or will we be stuck with only the pieces we grab during the event.

    • Most likely so you better craft a certain amount where you feel comfortable

    • After the airport event ended, we never got anymore pieces…I expect this will be no different. I’m going to use all my crafting bucks at the end of the event for track…I hope to build a large racetrack outside the park after the event.

  22. The nurse station bugs me! They give it as a prize then give it as crafting too!

    • It bugs be because they are charging 4000 crafting currency for .75% bonus but 600 for 1%

    • It’s one of those rare items that you can craft that also generate income. Presumably it will continue to do so after the event ends.

    • It’s not the first time that an item was offered as a prize and then offered again in crafting, during the Time Traveling Toaster event there were decorations unlocked on the prize track and then available in multiples through crafting. The things that bugs me with the Nurse’s Station is that the bonus is really low (at that price the station should cost 450 instead of 4000 or the bonus should be upgraded to 6.60 – 6.70% at 4000) and that no characters have any tasks there.

  23. I know this is off topic, but I just saw an update for the game in case anyone didn’t know about it. I’m guessing it might be to fix any bugs going on with the event.

  24. Announcement…..I have rat trap trucked myself to the coveted level 939. YAY ME!!!! Funny….i don’t feel any different……lol. 😀

    • And yet you sound different… must be the sound of hubris echoing throughout the land.
But good job! You are now in 3 donut bonus land!

    • Welcome to the club! Now you can get all the overpriced premium items for free.

    • Congrats neighbor! 🎉 You’ve earned the secret prize…the key to Burn’s Executive Bathroom at the plant…shhh, don’t tell anyone…we don’t want all that “lower level” riff-raff to know about it. 😁

  25. Itchy and Scratchy Land Banner (well, EA will only let me Craft one, so I’m taking that as Unique).

Either then that? Crafting Items has been more rewarding then the lame Act 1 Prizes in this Event (a Craftable Nurses Station offered up as an Event Prize – very lame, EA!)

I am prep’d for Level 5 Crafting (as in I’ve patiently reached Level 5 and I’m saving my Crafting Currency – which is a great tip by the way).

  26. Keith1Roon991

Great post, hoarding my currency now, pity the race track doesn’t work properly with the lagging, some cool pieces for it to come.

  27. “Itchy and Scratchy Land Banner” is registered as 0/1 in my crafting window: does it mean that the banner is, in fact, unique?

  28. Thanks for the rundown. It’s a shame the track is so obscured by smoke and tunnels. I understand why they have done it, so as not to have animation problems, but it looks really ugly. I assume the other craftables will also have stuff on them.

    • Keith1Roon991

agree, if there’s going to be a race track then have a task for all the kids to ride it and be seen, once the lagging stops

    • All the animation for the Injury 500 is incredibly lazy. I can’t stand looking at it.
