Should I Spend Donuts on T.G.I. McScratchy’s?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s event time in Springfield!  With the launch of Itchy and Scratchy Land summer can officially begin for the residents of our pocket-sized towns!  Of course, an all-new event means a new opportunity for EA to add new premium items to our stores!

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add T.G.I. McScratchy’s to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this New Year’s hot spot to your town…

Cons
-After questline there are no tasks there (no way to get the animation to work)

Final Thought
Premium or Freemium:
This one isn’t a bad buy.  If you like it grab it.  Outside of the lack of task after the questline, it’s a decent pickup no matter what type of player you are.

Of course, in the end, it’s your decision, we can only tell you what we would or wouldn’t do…and as a premium player, I’ll likely pick this one up.  But whatever you decide, just make sure you make your final decision before it leaves our games for good (or for now).

Here’s a look at the questline it comes with…

Happy New Year! Again… Pt. 1
Auto starts

Marge: Homie, what do you say we ditch the kids and have a little grownup time? There’s a place on Parents Island where they ring in the New Year every hour, on the hour.
Homer: Every hour? Then it must be the year one million in there! Let’s find out what the distant future has in store!
Make Homer and Marge Go to T.G.I. McScratchy’s- 8hrs, Earns 240 , 100 , 140xp
Homer: The future is every bit as drunk as science fiction promised us.

Happy New Year! Again… Pt. 2
Auto starts

Marge: Oh Homie, this is perfect. I don’t want to leave.
Homer: There’s no need! We’ve rung in so many New Years in here, the kids are all off in college by now, or have families of their own.
Marge: Oh. Now I’m getting a little empty nest syndrome…
Make Homer and Marge Ring in the New Year Again- 4hrs, Earns 120 , 50 , 90xp

  1. T.G.I. McScratchy’s

This would have been the perfect Building for Itchy & Scratchy Land, except there are no permanent tasks for Characters (aka the selling point) – c’mon EA, that was lazy. 👎

  2. I bought it. At 45 donuts it was a steal

I’m so torn on this one. On the one hand, a building with no event currency and no continuing animated tasks for anyone seems like such a waste of donuts. On the other hand, it’s such a classic building. If there were “another jumper on the roof of TGI McScratchy’s,” or if it had played “auld lang syne” when you tapped it, I would have leapt at it. But I’m low on donuts even though I just bought some not too long ago, so this is probably a pass.

    • I logged in just to comment bc I completely agree. I bought this just KNOWING it would have “another jumper on the roof,” animation or that little piece of “auld Lang syne” that repeats over and over as Marge and Homer are dancing, when tapped. Disappointed, but thought it was a good buy and classic addition, nonetheless. Wish they would add permanent tasks here…

  4. I was not able to collect ANY bonus donuts after I completer ACT 1. There was no option for me in my side menu. Was this intended or did anyone else have this problem?

  5. Curious question: would you rather have a building with no character interaction or a building that adds another job for every Springfielder?

While it’s nice to see the animations for some of these buildings, I have to say I’m not a big fan of all the 4 and 8 hour jobs that have been added recently. I do like it for any character missing that certain time but some of these task lists are getting ridiculous. How many jobs does Homer have now?

    • I would rather no interaction then every interaction. I like 1 or 2 characters having a task there, not every single one

      • I 100% agree.

      • Unless it were premium (which most are) AND have a drop down task menu for the building 😂😂💪 I dislike have theboption of all these premium job but they are what the employment office will send the characters on. It seems you can ‘program’ ***some*** of the characters by sending them to the building often enough so that it becomes their first/main task there, but I can’t make that work for all characters. How many times? How many times?! Ahhhhhhhhhhh

I picked it up right away & love the look of the building.

  7. As soon as I saw the spoiler thread for the I&S event, I went back and watched the episode. This was one of the items I was hoping for, so I picked it up right away. Maybe I’ll surround it by water so I have my own parents island.

  8. Is Squeaky Voiced Attendant a full character or just a skin for SVT? I know SIB is coming, but that’s probably the only question that matters for most if that information is available. Thanks

      • Thanks. I figured it was a skin at that price point, but when an account without SVT had it for the same price, I got confused. I guess its a real bargain if you don’t already have SVT.

    • I’m curious to know about the building animation and if there’s anything else to the bundle like a couple cars. I’ll probably pick it up anyway as a nice canon addition to I&S land. Anxiously awaiting SIB 🤓

I bought it/ Soaring Over Springfield.
      Homer and Bart
Marge and Lisa earn Event Currency there.

The Skin was stored and I had to retrieve it.
Squeaky Voiced Teen was also stored and I also had to retrieve him

Somewhere, somehow I also discovered a couple of other of my Characters had been stored. Perhaps this occurred during the Nuke Krustyland Event?

      • Just looked it up at a neighboring Springfield, not what I thought it was. I thought it would be the cart ride from the Dad Behavior episode. I’ll hold off and think about it.

  9. What is donut farming?

  10. Yeah but, all these little animations add up to equal the lag so many people are complaining about.

Wait you can’t get the quest line to appear afterwards?!? That would have been the reason I got it for Marge and Homer to have 8 hour tasks:(

  12. I bought it and I like it but it’s a shame that at least one character doesn’t haven’t have a permant task rhere so we can see the animation , I already forget what it is as I had expected Homer and Marge to have a task there , at least for the remaining duration of the event . The price is very good all the same .
